Risen Elder Special Investigations have so much hp so it got me thinking on how I can increase my damage more. So I realized that I can't really punish a lot of the moves and just spend time waiting for when I can. for example when he goes invisible and jumps behind you then does a double spit. there isn't really a follow up you can do so I thought might as well try running frostcraft and then sheathe, dodge the first spit and IB punish the second one with full frostcraft bar. looks like it kinda worked well in this match up :)
I feel like the run can go 5:20ish but it needs a lot of rng. Also the runs are quite long and the longer they are the harder it is to not make any mistakes when you are in adrenaline range :|

Damn, from 5:19 onward I was getting hyped. I knew the skyward thrust was coming and I was really hoping it'd be the fatal blow.
Great run man. I'm just getting back into Lance and you're hunts are my go to videos for learning the match-ups.

it probably would have been but it's hp locked during the whole risen transform. it died like frame 1 when it could die

Up time is higher than I expected, I just like seeing the lance glow

yeah it's cause a lot of his moves aren't really punishable but you have enough time to sheathe. so you get more damage on the next move you can punish + the fact that he goes invisible and wastes time. maybe there's more match ups where it's good but for sure not all of them. against most monster you just wanna stay unsheathed and attack as much as possible

So I've seen discussions on FC Lance in the community when Velkhana brought it back for us, and the consensus appeared to be that it was overall not viable for the weapon.
Boy, did I wish I at least tried it myself first because this is beautiful lol. That's some BEEG damage ❤ I'm glad to be getting back into Lance as it was the first weapon I used in my first MH game (Tri) 🛡️

I think you might got a bit unlucky here 5:22 with his transition to his risen state, as he was probably already at like 1-2% HP could've perhaps shaved off a few seconds more. (since you can't kill him during and for like 1-2 seconds after the transition) But yeah that you made Frostcraft work with Lance somehow is just simply awesome :D

yeah I know. but he always goes risen towards the end. and I have like 10 5:4X runs and this is somehow the only sub 5:40. I grinded the quest for the last 4 days and I need to do something else now XD
also I had runs where he goes risen and then does insta nova hp locking him for like half a minute

get either flinch free 1 or shock absorber 1 deco. or you could also eat for dange feet 1 to prevent flinches from your team mates
