The choreography!!! You are so right. It's so crisp. And so perfect. They pride themselves in their perfect in sync choreography. They are famous for it and love upholding their reputation of being the best. Here is the background story. You saw the guide. You saw how hard it was for them to get booked or promoted. The company was poor. No money for promotions. But their boss, Mr. Bang, made an important decision. He told the guys since we have limited exposure when the public and media do see us we need to make a big impression. That's when Mr. Bang decided the choreography had to be impressive and unique and unforgettable. He did say he never controlled how many hours they had to practice. But along with Mr. Bang and their choreographer and the boys they decided to become the very best. He sent his choreographer to CA to learn all the newest and exciting hip choreography. Mr. Son came back and created The best KPop dance team ever. He even taught them to have the same point of vision ...where to look at the same time. BTS practiced hours and hours and hours. Sometimes 12 hours a day. But the boys loved it. And they loved the recognition they were getting. They loved building their dance reputation. They all put in 100%. To get there they put something into place that not many choreographers were doing at the time. They filmed the boy's practices. Pointed out moves that had to be "cleaned up". Then let the boys see the replay to see their mistakes. Then the boys learned how to see and fix their own mistakes. Brilliant. They luckily found Sienna, the very young brilliant innovative choreographer. She choreographed many other songs. The present choreographer became the performance director and oversees every detail of every performance. So Sienna's boss. Sienna famously choreographed the new concept of "Butter" performed live on stage at the Grammy's. It's a MUST see. It's brilliant. They got a standing Ovation. Very few groups get a standing Ovation at a filmed award show. She choreographed their most difficult choreography for the song "RunBTS". Not to be confused with their TV show "RunBTS" with the same name. You do know they have a TV show? Or the song and MV "Run". This choreography was being debuted at their final concert before military enlistment. However, we didn't know it was their final concert. They didn't tell anyone because they didn't want the fans to be sad. The final concert was held in Busan. Here is the unique experience of the boys learning that choreography. She filmed her dance troop, The Lab, dancing the choreography. And sent the film to Korea. The boys taught themselves the choreography by watching the film. On the filmed concert it was kind of hard to see the complete choreography. The lights were strobbing. They all wore black. The camera angles were weird. Sometimes just focusing on the top half of their bodies. So...the best way to see every detail of the choreography is to watch the dance practice. Back to "On" in CA. Even though it was dry heat it still was super hot filming in leather pants and leather jackets. And each take they did..they had to dance "full out". Like it was a Live Performance. Even when they were practicing inside on the last practice they fell to the floor exhausted...completely depleted. The same thing happened when filming for the perfect take for Jimmy's TV show. At the end when it was over many fell to the floor. Jimmy went to hug JK, and he could feel his fast beating heart through his back! Think about this. Their concerts are 3 hours long. And they dance full out. Not many people know that dancers are among The Most Fit athletes in the world. But you get that. I told you I watched BTS every day after their TV debut. Unfortunately, it's hard to relax and watch dance performances because we are trained to look for the mistakes so they can be fixed. I watched them for 6 months before I ever saw a mistake. RM had a brain fart and started doing choreography from a different song. But here is the thing...they are such experienced performers they never let on when making a mistake. They blend it in and keep dancing. Only choreographers can catch their mistakes. And just so you know JHope as their dance leader will point out every mistake after each performance. They will tell you...kind of jokingly that they live in fear of JHope and him catching their mistakes. One of the best mishaps that I don't call a mishap. Jimin slipped and fell on the floor. He kept doing the arm choreography, making it seem that was supposed to happen. BRILLIANT!

Request. I watch RUclips on my TV now. I used to be able to adjust the viewing screen. But now that I'm viewing an application, I can't make any adjustments. The way you have the screen that we view the bottom subtitles is cut off. Could you move our viewing screen up? You will probably have to adjust the size of the screen as not to cut your faces off. Thanks for this consideration. Random. Hybe, the corporate name that owns BTS and other groups, has an office in the U.S. I think it's in CA. I think Mr. Bang lives their part-time as Hybe is spreading its global boundaries. Scooter Braun is the President of the U.S. division. Yes, that Scooter. The guy who discovered Justin Bieber. Hybe bought out Scooter's business, and now Justin and all of Scooter's famous clients work for Hybe. Random. I still think you'd enjoy watching the Behind the Scenes of "Save Me" to see how they got that one shot. Random. When they started doing their TV show, they were poor. So the quality of the production was poor. But the content and the hilarity are always excellent. They stopped filming "RunBTS" during the worst of the pandemic but began again. My favorite episodes, which I highly recommend is "FlyBTS" parts 1 and part 2. If you've had a hard day and need to laugh, watch that. Even if you haven't had a hard day...take a break from their song and dance videos and watch "RunBTS". You will love it. No fan will disagree!

They are really good about staying grateful to the people that work with/for them. Honestly, plenty of people I’ve worked with would not bother to interact, let alone high five everyone. And you can tell it’s not just an obligatory thank you, it comes from a very real place.

You have made history by adding some trivia no one knew before. That the dam was covered in graffiti. You've contributed to the BTS lore and proven what lengths the company and tech crew go to to provide a professional polished look. And here is some info for you. Yes. BTS members are so very kind and generous to thank everyone, especially the crew and staff. In fact. They have voiced their opinion many times on camera. Please give the crew a raise. They deserve it. You were right. They pulled out all the "big guns" to make an exceptional MV. Here's why. They were getting ready to debut their brand new album "7". And then begin their huge World Tour to promote themselves and the album. That's why the boys said..to paraphrase..I hope this video takes off. Some others have already mentioned this...BTS premiered and debuted "On" TV ...live on the Jimmy Fallon show. Jimmy has the boys in New York all weekend filming a long segment showcasing BTS. They started by actually filming in a real subway car. I won't give away what they did because I want you to find and watch their New York experience. Jimmy then took them to the famous Katz deli and had them serving up their famous pastrami sandwiches..then getting to eat those huge sandwiches themselves. They topped off the day at Grand Central Station. NBC rented the place for several hours starting at 1 a.m. to film BTS's TV debut of "On". When it aired on TV I just happened to be watching Jimmy's show, and he introduced BTS. I thought what a weird name. I had never heard of them before. And being from the musical theatre world...director, actress, choreographer, and techie...I've done it all hair makeup, set, etc. I was overwhelmed by their magnificent, stunningly exquisite performance. I had never seen choreography that beautiful and unique and performed so crisply. This was February 24, 2020. So again, they are promoting their new album and huge World Tour. I'm not sure if they recorded "On" in CA before or after this performance. But I saw this first. I got on RUclips and have consumed BTS content Every day since then. Not kidding. Notice the date in particular. Do you understand the significance of this date? It was the beginning of the pandemic. The boys were called into a meeting. And their World Tour was cancelled. The whole world shut down. The boys were devastated. That's a whole another story of what happened to BTS during this time to be told later. They had worked so hard to film "On" in CA. And then this perfect debut. They NEVER got to perform "On" Live on stage for any fans. No one in the world saw it live. Luckily, they had filmed the MV. The boys vowed if they ever got to perform Live again, the first song they would perform would be "On". Again, another story for another time.

Thank you for adding this context, which I already knew, and would have added if you hadn’t. Watching this type of content is still sort of painful because the guys were so enthusiastic and excited/poised to literally take over the music industry at this point…but shortly after all of this enthusiasm and preparation that you see, their entire world tour was canceled. We were given lingering hope and I kept my incredibly great tour seats in escrow with them as I believe almost ALL of ARMY did until they finally officially canceled it over a year later because of the pandemic.
I did finally get to see them in the fifth row in Las Vegas in April 2022 and they performed this incredible song, as well as Black Swan… and everything they had prepared two years prior. So grateful! But I literally sat there and cried, remembering the enthusiasm literally a month before everything shut down.
Not wanting to be overly dramatic, but the truth is … you will rarely find a TEAM like this. The work ethic, the incredible amount of self-accountability, etc. they truly inspire me. 💜🤷‍♀️

IIRC, they shot both of the ON mvs and the Black Swan official mv (in the Los Angeles Theatre) in the same trip, over a couple of weeks or so, in late January / early February of 2020. They then went on to record the epic Grand Central ON (Fallon) and Black Swan (Corden) TV performances. It’s an enormous amount of work over a short timeframe.

BTS used Carl Jung's analytical psychology to write the lyrics and make the official MV. It talks about accepting our shadows, which are those repressed parts of us. We can only evolve when we truly accept these repressed parts of ourselves. That's why the lyrics say "leave me with my everything" Only when we accept everything that is part of us can we find peace.

They have an incredible personal around them, that has hold up the stage when it started to collapse on their performance of Idol, I think it’s was at a concert when it happened. They have always done the behind the scenes documentary for their videos and concerts, then the stage started to collapse it was a film crew doing their documentary that filmed it happening, and they chose to show that it happened. The guys was told right after that they had to change the last songs and not do any choreography because of the risk of the stage.
Then they did the Idol performance on GDA (Golden Disc Awards) there’s fancams on the other artists that sits at a separate area and they made it move when they did the dance, you can see the reaction of the artists when it happened.

The whole project of ON was impressive from the two labor intensive videos directed by Choi Yong-Seok (LUPENS), the great collab with choreographer Sienna Lalau and The Lab dance crew, the use of The Solid Gold Sound of the UCLA Bruin Marching Band and the college choir to choosing top fashion designer Rick Owens for the outfits. They might make a lot of money but they spend a lot. 💜

To watch "On" at Grand Central..type on RUclips..
BTS performing On for the Tonight Show Grand Central Park. A fan recorded it on her TV. The quality is good enough to watch. I watched The Tonight Show live that night. When Jimmy introduced them, I had never heard of them before. I thought....what a weird name!
I was overwhelmed. Being a choreographer and director in the Musical Theatre world, I KNEW what it took to pull off that Stunningly Exquisite performance. The dance was perfectly precise! I immediately went on RUclips to find out all about them. That was February 24, 2020. I have watched BTS content every day since then. Not kidding. I never saw a choreography mistake until I watched them for 6 months.

they did this live in the NY on Fallon show... it was up for a long time but taken down now... maybe one of the ARMY has it saved and can share it with you. There were no stops at the end when Jimmy hugged them he could feel their heartbeats through their clothes and their heavy breathing. It was an amazing one time shot.

It was interesting that you pointed out that the graffiti had been painted over. I always thought that it the dam looked very clean. They often use drones when filming. V’s fake neck tattoo became more extensive each time they performed this. The writing on his face says, ‘The shadow like me’. He thought that the thorns fitted the concept and asked if he could have them drawn on. He didn’t have them for the Permission to Dance concerts which were the first time they had the chance to perform this to ARMYs. Presumably it would’ve been too tricky to remove when doing the quick change for the next song. They have since filmed in LA again but this time it was in an abandonned theatre when they filmed, ‘Black Swan’. That is a must to watch. ‘Idol’ will blow your mind. They threw everything at that one to clap back at the haters. It’s such a joy to watch, a psychedelic masterpiece.

It was fun watching this again with you both and hearing your impressions & insights as producers. Drones are used quite a lot in their productions. They even creatively incorporated drones into their mv for “Dope” ( SUGA / Yoongi’s part) from 2015 back in the day when their company was still small and cash strapped. Even on a strict budget they always crafted quality mv in interesting ways. Watching one of the making / behind of Dope I was shocked how loud the swarm of drones were.
