Many people think that sunni and salafi are two different things. However in actuality, to truly be a sunni is to follow the quran and the sunnah of the prophet through the understanding of the predecessors(salaf), just like how imam malik/shafi/abu hanifa/ahmad and other scholars did.

Before anyone quotes ibn taymiyyah r.a you need to study his style the context in which he said what he said who was he addressing what was the topic etc etc all these factors have to be looked at. because his works are so vast and comprehensive to just quote something out of his works this is injustice. And the people who quote him generally have no clue about the sheikh or his works, they cherry pick a quote or misquote him (I.e sufis for celebrating Eid milad un nabi and the kharaji for takfeer of the Muslim rulers) to suit their agenda this is not from justice. They do this with not only the works of the sheikh but also the Quran and hadith they take the texts away from its intended meaning to suit their own ideology or belief.

Hanafi have ever since 80A.H. onwards have had established a working methodology in handling the textual differences meant to be captured in the Islamic sources of Shariah to deal with the day to day New issues pertaining to belief and practice and to newly happening matters that wasn't apparent earlier.
Mathhab means that: a detailed methodology based on corroborated criteria. Likewise, Maliki ever since 90AH and Shafiee 150AH and Hanbali ever since 164AH ...
AbulHassan AlAshaari ever since 260AH AbuMansur Al Maturidi ever since 247 or 233AH
Salafi is a noMathhab except that which their teacher sees which has the stronger evidence and chooses that not following a particular methodology. This leads to inconsistencies and contradictions and misinterpretation and misapplication

In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,
It’s just that you have had bad luck in meeting the wrong people. It is incorrect to say that the majority of the Muslims are Salafis and that only Muslims from the Indian subcontinent are non-Salafis. The fact is that, over 85% of Muslims follow the traditional orthodox Sunni path of the mainstream Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama’ah. This has been the way for over thousand years, and only recently (in the last 30 years) has the (so called) Salafi sect come into existence.
The majority of Muslims in the Indo/Pak, Asia, Turkey, Syria, Iraq, UAE and many other countries follow the Hanafi Madhab. Muslims in Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Yemen, Egypt and parts of Syria generally follow the Shafi’i school. The Maliki Madhab is mostly practised in North African countries, such as Tunisia, Algeria, Mauritania, Morocco, Libya and others. The Hanbalis can be found in parts of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Syria and other countries. The Ash’ari and Maturudi Aqidahs are also quite widespread in these Muslim lands.
Therefore, it is totally incorrect to assume that Sunni Muslims are in the minority; rather, as they have always been, they remain the mainstream and the majority.
Sayyiduna Abd Allah ibn Umar (Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said: “Verily Allah does not gather my Ummah-or he said, the Ummah of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace)-upon deviation, and Allah’s hand (assistance, protection and mercy) is over the group, and whoever diverges from them diverges to hellfire.” (Sunan Tirmidhi, no. 2167)
Therefore, rest assured that the path you have chosen is the right one, and that which the majority of the Muslims follow. In England there are many Sunni scholars, in fact the majority of the Masjids and Imams are almost all Sunni. You may have to move out from the narrow and limited circle that you find yourself in.
As for the disputes among Muslims who all follow the same traditional Sunni way, follow a Madhhab and the Maturudi Aqida, is surely something that is very unfortunate. Such people should be explained in a nice and gentle manner to leave these petty issues (regarding which one will not be asked on the Day of Judgment) to one side and concentrate more on the basics of Islam. You must also avoid falling into such arguments, and having such people around should never deter you from following the Sunni way.
Regarding your final point on the Salafis controlling the Haramayn, it should be kept in mind that controlling the sacred lands is not in any way a proof for one being on the true path. There are numerous examples in history where people on falsehood had control on such sacred lands.
Until not too long ago, the holy lands were controlled by Sunni scholars. The sacred Mosques of Makkah al-Mukarrama and Madina al-Munawwara used to witness four congregations for each Salat in accordance with the four traditional Sunni schools of Islamic law. Many great scholars lived and taught there for centuries. It was only until when Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab and his followers imposed their ideologies in these lands.
What is relevant that, there are great Sunni scholars till this day living in these lands despite the tight vigilance of the government and Salafi/Wahhabi oriented circles. Scholars such as, Shaykh Muhammad al-Awwama (a great Syrian Hanafi scholar), Shaykh Habib Zayn (a great Yemeni Shafi’i and Tasawwuf scholar), Shaykh Abd al-Hafidh al-Makki (a great Hanafi and Sufi scholar originally from Pakistan), Sayyidi Alawi al-Maliki (in Makka al-Mukarrama) and others reside and teach in these blessed lands.
One of the great Hanafi and Hadith scholars from India, Imam Muhammad Zakariyya al-Khandahlawi (Allah have mercy on him) spent many years of his later life in Madina al-Munawwara. His students and disciples number in many. My own personal Shaykh, Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Yusuf Mutala (may Allah preserve him) was one of his main students. I personally heard from my Shaykh that, in the late seventies, the current head of the Imams of Haram in Makkah, Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abd Allah al-Subayl (who was also an Imam then) would regularly come and attend the Dhikr and Tasawwuf gatherings of Shaykh Muhammad Zakariyya.
Finally, remember the Hadith of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace).
Sayyiduna Abd Allah ibn Umar (Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said: “O Allah! Bless our Sham and our Yemen. They (Sahaba) said: “Our Najd as well.” The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) again said: “O Allah! Bless our Sham and our Yemen. They said again, “Our Najd as well.” The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said: “There, will appear earthquakes and tribulations, and from there will rise the horn of Shaytan.” (Sahih al-Bukhari, no. 990)
    And Allah knows best

Who or what is a Salafi?
    Is their approach valid?
© Nuh Ha Mim Keller (1995)
The word salafi or “early Muslim”in traditional Islamic scholarship means someone who died within the first four hundred years after the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), including scholars such as Abu Hanifa, Malik, Shafi’i, and Ahmad ibn Hanbal. Anyone who died after this is one of the khalaf or “latter-day Muslims”.
The term “Salafi” was revived as a slogan and movement, among latter-day Muslims, by the followers of Muhammad Abduh (the student of Jamal al-Din al-Afghani) some thirteen centuries after the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), approximately a hundred years ago. Like similar movements that have historically appeared in Islam, its basic claim was that the religion had not been properly understood by anyone since the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) and the early Muslims-and themselves.
In terms of ideals, the movement advocated a return to a shari’a-minded orthodoxy that would purify Islam from unwarranted accretions, the criteria for judging which would be the Qur’an and hadith. Now, these ideals are noble, and I don’t think anyone would disagree with their importance. The only points of disagreement are how these objectives are to be defined, and how the program is to be carried out. It is difficult in a few words to properly deal with all the aspects of the movement and the issues involved, but I hope to publish a fuller treatment later this year, insha’Allah, in a collection of essays called “The Re-Formers of Islam“.
As for its validity, one may note that the Salafi approach is an interpretation of the texts of the Qur’an and sunna, or rather a body of interpretation, and as such, those who advance its claims are subject to the same rigorous criteria of the Islamic sciences as anyone else who makes interpretive claims about the Qur’an and sunna; namely, they must show:
    that their interpretations are acceptable in terms of Arabic language;
that they have exhaustive mastery of all the primary texts that relate to each Question, and
that they have full familiarity of the methodology of usul al-fiqh or “fundamentals of jurisprudence” needed to comprehensively join between all the primary texts.
Only when one has these qualifications can one legitimately produce a valid interpretive claim about the texts, which is called ijtihad or “deduction of shari’a” from the primary sources. Without these qualifications, the most one can legitimately claim is to reproduce such an interpretive claim from someone who definitely has these qualifications; namely, one of those unanimously recognized by the Umma as such since the times of the true salaf, at their forefront the mujtahid Imams of the four madhhabs or “schools of jurisprudence”.
As for scholars today who do not have the qualifications of a mujtahid, it is not clear to me why they should be considered mujtahids by default, such as when it is said that someone is “the greatest living scholar of the sunna” any more than we could qualify a school-child on the playground as a physicist by saying, “He is the greatest physicist on the playground”. Claims to Islamic knowledge do not come about by default. Slogans about “following the Qur’an and sunna” sound good in theory, but in practice it comes down to a Questionof scholarship, and who will sort out for the Muslim the thousands of shari’a Questions that arise in his life. One eventually realizes that one has to choose between following the ijtihad of a real mujtahid, or the ijtihad of some or another “movement leader”, whose qualifications may simply be a matter of reputation, something which is often made and circulated among people without a grasp of the issues.
What comes to many peoples minds these days when one says “Salafis” is bearded young men arguing about din. The basic hope of these youthful reformers seems to be that argument and conflict will eventually wear down any resistance or disagreement to their positions, which will thus result in purifying Islam. Here, I think education, on all sides, could do much to improve the situation.
The reality of the case is that the mujtahid Imams, those whose task it was to deduce the Islamic shari’a from the Qur’an and hadith, were in agreement about most rulings; while those they disagreed about, they had good reason to, whether because the Arabic could be understood in more than one way, or because the particular Qur’an or hadith text admitted of qualifications given in other texts (some of them acceptable for reasons of legal methodology to one mujtahid but not another), and so forth.
Because of the lack of hard information in English, the legitimacy of scholarly difference on shari’a rulings is often lost sight of among Muslims in the West. For example, the work Fiqh al-sunna by the author Sayyid Sabiq, recently translated into English, presents hadith evidences for rulings corresponding to about 95 percent of those of the Shafi’i school. Which is a welcome contribution, but by no means a “final word” about these rulings, for each of the four schools has a large literature of hadith evidences, and not just the Shafi’i school reflected by Sabiq’s work. The Maliki school has the Mudawwana of Imam Malik, for example, and the Hanafi school has the Sharh ma’ani al-athar [Explanation of meanings of hadith] and Sharh mushkil al-athar [Explanation of problematic hadiths], both by the great hadith Imam Abu Jafar al-Tahawi, the latter work of which has recently been published in sixteen volumes by Mu’assasa al-Risala in Beirut. Whoever has not read these and does not know what is in them is condemned to be ignorant of the hadith evidence for a great many Hanafi positions.
What I am trying to say is that there is a large fictional element involved when someone comes to the Muslims and says, “No one has understood Islam properly except the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) and early Muslims, and our sheikh”. This is not valid, for the enduring works of first-rank Imams of hadith, jurisprudence, Qur’anic exegesis, and other shari’a disciplines impose upon Muslims the obligation to know and understand their work, in the same way that serious comprehension of any other scholarly field obliges one to have studied the works of its major scholars who have dealt with its issues and solved its Questions. Without such study, one is doomed to repeat mistakes already made and rebutted in the past.
Most of us have acquaintances among this Umma who hardly acknowledge another scholar on the face of the earth besides the Imam of their madhhab, the Sheikh of their Islam, or some contemporary scholar or other. And this sort of enthusiasm is understandable, even acceptable (at a human level) in a non-scholar. But only to the degree that it does not become ta’assub or bigotry, meaning that one believes one may put down Muslims who follow other qualified scholars. At that point it is haram, because it is part of the sectarianism (tafarruq) among Muslims that Islam condemns.
When one gains Islamic knowledge and puts fiction aside, one sees that superlatives about particular scholars such as “the greatest” are untenable; that each of the four schools of classical Islamic jurisprudence has had many many luminaries. To imagine that all preceding scholarship should be evaluated in terms of this or that “Great Reformer” is to ready oneself for a big letdown, because intellectually it cannot be supported. I remember once hearing a law student at the University of Chicago say: “I’m not saying that Chicago has everything. Its just that no place else has anything.” Nothing justifies transposing this kind of attitude onto our scholarly resources in Islam, whether it is called “Islamic Movement”, “Salafism”, or something else, and the sooner we leave it behind, the better it will be for our Islamic scholarship, our sense of reality, and for our din.

Laik Ahmed it's a false claim to say the hadiths were compiled 250 years after the prophet pbuh. Many scholars of hadith had their personal hadith books. Imam Abu Hanifa was the first to compile a hadith book called kitab al athar with 150 years after the prophet pbuh. Bare in mind imam abu Hanifa studied under companions of the prophet pbuh.
Ibn Abu shayba compiled his musannaf about 180-200 years after the prophet pbuh,
the muwatta of imam Malik was compiled between 130-150 years after the prophet pbuh
The sahifah of hamman bin munabbih who was a student of abu Hurayra compiled a hadith book within 60 years of the death of the prophet. Some date it even earlier to late 17th century.
Abdul razzaq al sanaani compiled his musannaf within the furst century after the death of the prophet pbuh
Ibn jurayj compiled a musannaf 130 years afterwards and ma'maar compiled his musannaf around the same time.
The reason as to why the other books such as bukhari was compiled later was on the recommendation of his teacher ishaq ibn rahaway who wanted one if his students to compile a bokk of all authentic hadiths to make it easier for the Muslim world to just use that source.
It has nothing to do with their authenticity. We're not like Christians whose holy book is not even the revelation of the prophet they're talking about and they even acknowledge that. The gospels are dubious man made books with very little to rely upon. Not to mention Christians take the word of a false prophet like Paul

Assalamo aleykom, I love you in God. In Sahih Muslim [1847, chapter of obligation to stay with the majority (Jamaa) in period of fitna], the Prophet warns us about the predicators that invite people to hell and that we must stick to the majority of the Muslims.
It has been narrated on the authority of Hudhaifa b. al-Yaman who said: People used to ask the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about the good times, but I used to ask him about bad times fearing lest they overtake me. I said: Messenger of Allah, we were in the midst of ignorance and evil, and then God brought us this good (time through Islam). Is there any bad time after this good one? He said: Yes. I asked: Will there be a good time again after that bad time? He said: Yes, but therein will be a hidden evil. I asked: What will be the evil hidden therein? He said: (That time will witness the rise of) the people who will adopt ways other than mine and seek guidance other than mine. You will know good points as well as bad points. I asked: Will there be a bad time after this good one? He said: Yes. (A time will come) when there will be people standing and inviting at the gates of Hell. Whoso responds to their call they will throw them into the fire. I said: Messenger of Allah, describe them for us. He said: All right. They will be a people having the same complexion as ours and speaking our language. I said: Messenger of Allah, what do you suggest if I happen to live in that time? He said: You should stick to the main body of the Muslims and their leader. I said: If they have no (such thing as the) main body and have no leader? He said: Separate yourself from all these factions, though you may have to eat the roots of trees until death comes to you and you are in this state.
In Sahih Bukhari : Volume 9, Book 88, Number 206:
    Narrated Hudhaifa bin Al-Yaman:
The people used to ask Allah's Apostle about the good but I used to ask him about the evil lest I should be overtaken by them. So I said, "O Allah's Apostle! We were living in ignorance and in an (extremely) worst atmosphere, then Allah brought to us this good (i.e., Islam); will there be any evil after this good?" He said, "Yes." I said, 'Will there be any good after that evil?" He replied, "Yes, but it will be tainted (not pure.)'' I asked, "What will be its taint?" He replied, "(There will be) some people who will guide others not according to my tradition? You will approve of some of their deeds and disapprove of some others." I asked, "Will there be any evil after that good?" He replied, "Yes, (there will be) some people calling at the gates of the (Hell) Fire, and whoever will respond to their call, will be thrown by them into the (Hell) Fire." I said, "O Allah s Apostle! Will you describe them to us?" He said, "They will be from our own people and will speak our language." I said, "What do you order me to do if such a state should take place in my life?" He said, "Stick to the group of Muslims and their Imam (ruler)." I said, "If there is neither a group of Muslims nor an Imam (ruler)?" He said, "Then turn away from all those sects even if you were to bite (eat) the roots of a tree till death overtakes you while you are in that state."

@Qasim Mughal cudnt figure out which question was to be answered, but i read ur other posts which clearly showed me that its not logical to be explaining things to some one who is a stubborn hater of the truth out there.
One post of urs i read in which u refer a sect as wahabi while they never refer themselves with it. Gr8. We have many many jokers like u around who can not be explained things nor is it sensible to argue with them with knowledge as they will simply say a word like wahabi and call u with that word as a means of teasing, and the intention of learning is absent. They(u and the likes) wud die rather than accept that "there is no wahabi on planet earth at present" and "there is no sect which claims to be wahabi". Its just a word given by haters of the truth like u. So no point bro......no arguments , no debates with the stubborn , no debating the arrogant. So here we say good bye. Keep asking people if they r wahabis and u wont find anyone unless ofcourse if u mean slave of Al Wahhaab, then yes.... Take care and try learning the actual truth. There are plenty of sources to learn from other than from people on youtube comment sections. So if ur intention is right u will learn from sources and if ur intention is just debating and winning then keep messaging the youtube commenters and waste time. AssalamuAlaikum warahmatullah.

In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,
Islam’s real message is to obey Allah Most High alone. Emphasis has been placed upon following the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace), because he represents Allah’s commandments. Therefore, every Muslim should attempt to follow the commandments of Allah Almighty and his messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace).
However, there are many commandments and injunctions of the Qur’an and Sunnah that are unclear and ambiguous. In fact, there are some statements which seem to (apparently) contradict other verses of the Qur’an and Hadith.
For example: There is a Hadith which states: “Whoever has an Imam, the Imam’s recitation (in prayer) is his recitation.” (Sunan Ibn Majah & al-Bayhaqi) This indicates that the follower in prayer should remain silent. However, another Hadith says: “There is no Salat for he who does not recite Surah al-Fatiha.”
Now, if a person has the necessary qualifications, deep knowledge of the various sciences of Shariah which requires many years of extensive studying along with piety and fear of Allah, then he can study the various evidences and decide for himself what the correct position is. This person is known as a ‘Mujtahid’.
However, if one falls short of the requirement of a Mujtahid (many scholars have mentioned that it is impossible for a person to reach the level of Ijtihad in our times) then it is necessary for him to follow a Mujtahid who spent all his life in studying the various different sciences of Shari’ah. This is known as ‘following a Madhab’.
It should be remembered that when we follow a particular Madhhab (School of thought), we are not following one person; rather we are following the extensive research carried out by thousands of scholars who devoted their life for this noble cause.
Allah says in the holy Qur’an:
“Ask the people of knowledge if you don’t know” (Surah al-Nahl, v.43).
If a person is deluded and considers him self to be a Mujtahid and the reality is that he is not (as is the general case), then this is certainly wrong and leads to deviation.
As far as the question “Are the Salafis considered sinful” is concerned, this depends on the person in question, although normally people fall short of the requirement of Ijtihad and therefore it is necessary for them to follow a Madhhab.
I would not like to make a general statement on whether they are sinful or not, as we leave this to Allah Most High, neither will we be asked this question on the day of Qiyamah. May Allah bless the Ummah with unity as this is the greatest need of the time, and may He guide us all to the straight path (Ameen).
    And Allah knows best

Shamsi is attempting to REPLACE the word Sunni with Salafi!!
The word Sunni is not just used to differentiate us from the Shia but we use it because the Prophet salallahu alayhiwasallam commanded us to STICK WITH THE AHL AS SUNNAH WAL JAMA'AH
    - that large group who FOLLOWS his path.
Salafism is just another sect with their own beliefs & ideas & manhaj.

    • @umargq80
      @umargq80 4 года назад

No he is not. Salafi linguistically means ascribing to those who have preceeded. So the prophet (saw) and his companions preceded us and we hold fast and cling to that which they were upon. However in terms of the deen, salafi means following the Quran and Sunnah upon the understanding of the companions. Thats it. It is not a new sect, nor is it a cult or whatever other lies people say. And as some of the people of knowledge, they mention salafi and sunni are interchangable. They both mean the same. And ibn Taymiyyah said "There is no blame upon the person who openly professes and ascribes to the madhab of the salaf. Rather it is obligatory to follow the madhab of the salaf for it is nothing except the truth"
Who are the salaf? The first 3 generation mentioned in the hadith "the best of you are my generation then thise who cane after them, then those who came after them" (sahaba, tabiee, atba tabieen)

The word “Salaf” and the principles the Prophet (pbuh) mentioned behind the word Salafi or Salaf is not wrong. Every Sunni is in a way a Salafi, in the way the Prophet meant it.... however, the group calling themself Salafi in this current era and expanding aggressively, seem to have tainted the word “Salafi” and following their own set of beliefs, ideologies and practices, misquoting the Prophet’s (pbuh) intended meaning.. May Allah guide us all 🤲🏾

0:59 u say the ulama say we must understand Ibn Taymiyyah statements correctly. Absolutely.. but why do you quote statements of the salaf and those before Ibn Taymiyyah unrestrictedly without providing the correct understanding and context.
it is very similar how enemies of Allah quote verses and Hadith without understanding to push there narrative.
an example of where I have seen many times layman salafis and at times student of knowledge and possibly even scholars do, is they will quote for instance a saying of one of the salaf where he would say " whoever sits with people of innovation than he has aided in the destruction of islam" without no context, no background information regarding reason this statement was made, ultimately than apply it to someone who's biddah is far less than who the quote was actually intended for.

Zahid Ashraf .... Allah mentioned in the Quran " There is nothing comparable to Allah..."
He also mentioned that he hears and sees and his hands are it stretched. ....etc. we understand these to be real attributes of Allah. BUT they are not to be compared to anything from the creation.
Allah's attributes are befitting His majesty. and we do not describe them like the attributes of His creation.

it is true that some people did drink from the water, its also narrated by ibn kathir. But it isnt his fault, likewise the christians started praying to jesus aleyhi salam. People are responsible for their own action. Ibn taymiyyah rahimahullah wouldnt have been pleased with it
I advise you to take care of whom you take knowledge from, those accusations come from the sufi ascharis and others, some of them really despise ibn taymiyyah and make up things. for example that we believe that Allah is comparable, has a body like us or something similar.

Hi my brother all this you are said is the doctrines of man you speak lies if Allah have sent Jesus and Torah and injeel which is gospel to guide as to light who sent that Quran and the books you are read this is the doctrines of man not from God

    • @omaralyafai2368
      @omaralyafai2368 6 лет назад

Badu Joshua the same person who sent the previous revelations sent the Quran. Please do not try to say the Quran is man made when your gospels are not the gospel of Jesus but contradictory biographies with varying ranges of reliability and a false prophet named Paul who contradicted jesus teachings. The Quran is the last and final message. The bible is a conviction of false booms and chapters from a man whom the only person who gives him authority is himself. In other words no one else ascribes to the legitimacy of Paul. He calls himself the apostle of apostles and gives himself high ranks but none of the new testament writers mention him or his letters. So much for apostle of jesus

ibn Hajar al-Haytami on ibn Taymiyya and his Student ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya and those who Follow Them like SHAMSI :
Make sure you do not listen to what is in the books of ibn Taymiyya and his student ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya and other such people who have taken their own whim as their God, and who have been led astray by Allah, and whose hearts and ears have been sealed, and whose eyes have been covered by Him. And who will help them if not Allah? How these heretics (mulhidun) have crossed the lines and broken the fences of the Shari’a and the Haqiqa, thinking that they are on the right path, and they are not! Rather they are in the worst of errors, the foulest of qualities, the most odious loss, and the utmost falsity. May Allah forsake the one who follows them, and purify the earth of their likes.
