  • You want to go driving 4WD snow tracks in the Vic High Country, and you’re a bit unsure on where to go.
So, where can you go with your family?
A large area of the Vic High Country is seasonally closed during winter, due to the high volumes of snow that fall between June and September.
Having said that, there’s a lot of 4WD tracks that you can drive and have a fun day out in the snow.
In this video, I’m going to talk about where you can go driving 4WD snow tracks in the Vic High Country and most of them are quite easy to get to.
Where are the 4WD snow tracks in the Vic High Country that you go driving on?

Good topic as usual Tim McEvoys track to Mount useful and around Selma rd Mt Selma and back to Aberfeldy once the forecast is for 1000 m and below can get very thick on Mt Useful so you need to be prepared Good day trip plenty of snow good scenery can easily drop down into Donnelleys creek area for an overnight camp out of the elevation
    Thanks again Tim

My introduction to the high country was down the Buckland Valley to mt Sarah and back up to the bridge and over Goldie Spur track to Lake buffalo. I camp at Beveridges station a fair bit. Heaps of fish in that creek, heaps of deer and even more snow. Not many people when i go too. 👍

    Excellent discussion and good tips.
Unfortunately for all of us Victorians we are still in lockdown and looks definite that it will be extended.
This government will find any excuse to lock everybody down, but let's hope we can still catch some snow after lockdowns.
I was up at Craigs Hut 2 weeks ago and there was plenty of snow up there and a bit down at 1200-1300 metres.
    Cheers

      G'day mate,
Yeah let's hope this lock down isn't for much longer so we can all get back out.
Seeing Craigs Hut with snow is pretty special.
Thanks for your reply and feedback mate., i greatly appreciate it.
      Cheers Tim.

Hi Timbo, missed the live again. Wanted to ask if you still need to carry chain with snow tires such as Falken Wildpeak? They are marked for snow so not sure is chsins compulsory in Vic?

    • @timbates4wdadventures
      @timbates4wdadventures  3 года назад

      Gday mate,
A few people have now mention these snow tyres.
I’ve never heard of such a tyre.
I would be fitting snow chains if the conditions required it, no matter what the branding is marked on the tyres.
I have anther live chat video recently where I talk of the times you must have snow chains.
Check that out mate, it will answer your questions about if you have to or not.
      Hope that helps mate.
      Thanks for your reply.
      Cheers Tim.
