David Brown was a great bassist. He played very distinctive bass lines. Very rhythmic and melodic, yet no one ever speaks of him. Great job on this song.
This is awesome bro ima young 18yr old bass player from FL thank you for making this. I love seeing how David Brown is using the pentatonics and chromatic notes in this line. Really gives you some insight in what it's like to play this slightly latin style especially with these rhythms amazing.
This is great and brings me so far back in time. You used to have a site where one could download your tabs in pdf format. I don't see it anymore. Did you take it down?
Hey do we get future tabs as well for the 24.95? I want all those tabs, you are a tab master :) Also I want all the Classic rock stuff you can muster Lol.
Absolutely! You get all of the past ones (145 and counting) as well as all the new ones for life! Im a huge classic rock guy. I rarely do anything newer than the 90s lol!
I actually like the tone of the bass and I would say that there is room for improvement on the actual playing like his timing for example. but in general it was a good job

One of my favs for back in the day. He does not get the recognition he deserves. But typical of how bass players are treated in general.
Generally, yeah. But, bassists of a certain age often do speak about him still.
Nice!! You killed it brother!!

@@BasstabsbyJason Great, you got a customer hehe. Well worth it. Keep up the awesome work.
Song key?
is it true that's an old African bass line used by shaman / mystics whatever you wana call them to go into a trance / altered state ??
Judging by the awesomeness of this baseline I concur.
Interesting, he doesn't bend on the Woodstock version.
I would say that in general is very uncommon to bend notes on a bass line as we are supposed to play the fundamental notes of a giving chord
Great playing but this bass, pickup, and string combo has a very BAD TONE! Hard to listen to. But really good playing.
To each there own. I love the tone of the Flea active jazz. Cuts through the mix really well.
