    Hey Stetson!! Because of you I switched to Mint Mobile in March 2018 & never looked back!!!! BEST decision I ever made!! I purchased their yearly plan in Dec.2019 so when the pandemic hit I was basically CRUISING with no cell phone bill payments FOR A YEAR!!! Since then I only get the yearly plan. @raymondrodriguez5068…Well actually my husband paid it, however that’s besides the point. The yearly bill at that time was $237!! & what I sort of meant was no ridiculous monthly payments to Sprint or Verizon which I’ve had prior. My monthly Sprint bill was always over $100 so $237 per year was beyond amazing. If anything I had no phone payments for the year since my husband paid it, & $237 per year for PERFECT service is unheard of!!!

    I moved from Visible to US Mobile before the Plus plan was created. Visible was nice while it worked. It was a nightmare when you needed customer support. US Mobile is worth it for that alone. Unless things have DRASTICALLY changed, of course.

      I’m in the same boat here. Visible is great until you need support. If your eSIM fails to activate when switching phones, your whole account might get screwed. Over a week with support and them reassigning 5+ eSIMs and no luck getting service restored. Just gave up and had to port out.

    • @ogamawab

      Visible is unlimited with no speed caps. Us mobile after priority data is used up you want to get one megabyte per second versus 200 megabytes per second from visible... And also Verizon updated the visible servers so you're actually on the Verizon network not like US Mobile...

    • @Chihirolee3
      @Chihirolee3 8 месяцев назад

      Visible is no different from Straighttalk from my research (looking it leave Straighttalk). I thought about going with visible, but they are QCI8 and thus not priority. "Premium" is not the same as priority. US Mobile is priority, QCI9 for so much data, then drops down.

    • @c79101
      @c79101 8 месяцев назад

      I’ve been pretty happy with US Mobile. Even with their cheapest unlimited plan, I think once your rate is throttled, you’re still getting priority data. For a 1 Mbps connection, things like Twitter and browsing are still really fast (like, the same latency as unthrottled). Video streaming obviously takes a hit though. Their support team seems to have a lot more in their toolkit than most reps from Straight talk/Visible I’ve had to deal with.

    I'm a US mobile customer since their beginning and in my bill I've never been charged taxes or fees, I pay 25 bucks even per line and that's it, minus my discount for perks.
    I don't know if they changed at some point because they change their plans from time to time, but as a legacy customer, I can tell that the value is there, but not the practicality. Say I want to change my payment card, I can't just swap in the app because it will try to force into the new plans, so I need to chat with customer service every single time and that's always time consuming.
    So far US mobile has been one of the best value carriers in the US, the big 3 are really out of reality 😎👍

    • @williamaungleyraud
      @williamaungleyraud 3 месяца назад

      @@Trust_but_Verify if you want to update your payment method on your own it will lead you to change plans, if you're a legacy plan holder you're still required to chat with customer support to update your payment card.
      To add cards and remove cards from your wallet that is doable without messing with your current plan, it's is just when you want to swap cards that is linked to a legacy plan that you need to chat with customer service so they can do it on their end, because apparently they don't have a way not to offer the legacy plan to new customers while not doing the opposite to older legacy customers.

    I live in Europe and I pay 12€ (~13$) for 160 GB and unlimited call, 500 messages (500 messages are nothing because we use emails and WhatsApp and/or Telegram) and 5G (with is not really 5G but oh well)

      End-stage capitalism abounds here among other stupidity, as you see on your news regularly.

    WHAT EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW AND WHAT THEY DON'T TELL YOU ABOUT THE NEW PLANS. All new plans are actually unlimited and the user pays for all of the data used. For example if one buys the $25 for 25GB high speed then unlimited 1mbps, you PAY for that additional unlimited 1mbps. I used over 4GB of my monthly allocated data and those 4GB are getting substracted for the next month! Stetson, can you comment on this? essentially in their new plans, one pre-pays for a set amount of data and post-paid for anything above. And what one can use above the pre-paid amount is unlimited, so your bill could potentially run in the $$ thousands!!!

    • @StetsonDoggett

      Hotspot data deducts from your high-speed data allotment. If you use 5GB of hotspot, you will have 45GB of high-speed data remaining.

Now that T-Mobile took them over , they’re eliminating all my perks , so I’m leaving . I’m a high data user , 50gb a month listing to a lot of music and lots of internet and RUclips . Visible plus seems to cost 50, the top us mobile plan is 50, but mint is 15 if I pay in advance ? Am I missing something ?

    I don't get it. On the shared side, as a single line, with all the bells and whistles and taxes, the 15GB plan was $1.82/GB, now its 12GB counter is $2.08 and that's better? The 5GB and 25GB plans are better upgraded, but the 2GB and 15GB are not.

    • @StetsonDoggett
      @StetsonDoggett  Год назад +1

      The $10 1GB plan can be turned into $12 for 2GB by purchasing a 1GB data add-on for $2. That would be $12 flat for 2GB, with hotspot included and taxes and fees included. That’s better than the previous 2GB plan!

  • @inhaleexhale

    I just checked Verizon's visible website and their basic visible plan does not come with 5G ultra wideband. That seems important. Also, in both of the Verizon visible plans, data only streams at standard definition, 480. That's a dealbreaker for me. US Mobile I think streams at 720 but I will probably look for 4K.

    I just want to thank you for all the information.
    While my wife and daughter are on AT&T (and I get a Veteran Discount, so their lines are $45/month.) All taxes and fees have us at $51.19/month IIRC.
    I'm test driving Mint on an old iPhone 7. Wife and daughter's phones are owned outright (iPhone 12pro and iPhone XR)
    I will test drive some MVNOs who operate on Version like Red Pocket before I ultimately decide which to go with.
    I kinda want to have different providers for my wife and me since we travel. Just because AT&T, Verizon or T-Mobile are the best at home doesn't mean that is the case elsewhere.
    Heck, I may leave her on AT&T and use the dual SIM feature on the used iPhone 13 pro I'm picking up today to replace the above mentioned iPhone 7 as people rush to the iPhone 15 family (wife included, daughter will probably get the 12 pro)
    We can travel with 3 or 4 different carriers and expect to have coverage in all but the most remote places.
    With the physical SIM phones, if we go to Europe, we could pick up an Orange SIM for less than what AT&T would charge for daily international usage.
    It's a glorious time to be alive with respect to connectivity.
