@StetsonDoggett I’m moving to Japan temporarily for a year. I will need to make the occasional call back to the US and receive texts for authorization codes. What metric should I consider most? International calls? But I’m calling back to the US so how do you classify that? If anyone else can help please comment below ❤ Also I plan on getting a mobile plan in Japan for all of the local calls.
$100 a month is crazy for the only benefit being you can upgrade your phone once a year. If you went with one of the $45 prepaid brands you’d have $660 extra dollars a year to buy a phone anytime you want.
@cherkas009 your trade in would cover the difference. For example trading in last year's iphone gets you: $410, $420, $520 and $650. Add that to the $660 from apple directly. The major carrier is gonna require you trade in. But they also won't accept the trade in if the screen is damaged. Now you're out $660 for the year.
Who needs a phone every year? Seriously got problems if you do. Still using an s20 just fine. People should hype investment/retirement half as much as the new stupid iphone.
Helium being mentioned is WILD. Love to see it. Before anyone asks, NO you cant get the 5 dollar plan anymore, not for the last 6 months and NO they will not be getting it again. It was a beta perk, which has ended. 20 a month is still incredible.
I’m interested, but a bit concerned with how closely it appears to be died to crypto/NFT spaces. I imagine this is a plus for the core audience but turns me off a bit and makes me worry if my coverage will die when the bubble pops
And you get helium credits for mapping. At the current rate, it's about $27 a month if you have on and move few miles per day. So u basically get paid $5/mo 😂
@@smoov22_sonic I was also nervous about this, but I figured it couldn't hurt to try. Worst case scenario Helium Mobile goes bankrupt and I port my number out. So far so good (I'm about half a month in and with mapping every day I'm probably not going to have to pay my bill next month, since I"ll just use the crypto).
Love the Visible+ annual plan. Best bang for the buck. And, as a truck driver, the unlimited hotspot at 10 Mbps is plenty to feed my smart TV on the truck. So, I can stream plenty on my downtime. And, coverage on Verizon’s network is solid.
*Note:* The video streaming quality on Total Wireless plans has now been confirmed by BestMVNO to be 720p (4 Mbps) on LTE and 1080p (8 Mbps) on 5G UW for ALL Total Wireless plans. Apologies for incorrectly listing the video streaming quality as 480p in the video. The quality was listed as 480p because when I tested the plan last month, those were the speeds I got.
The total website is still showing 480p streaming for the base 5G and the 5G Unlimited plans, only 720p for the 5G+ plans. Let’s see if the 720p for the lower plans was a backend provisioning mistake that might get corrected in the future.
Why not US mobile on the $25 over Visible base? I would think 35 Gigs of priority data would serve most well and the deprioritized data plus all those calling perks like international calling?
Thank you for the roundup of what we need to know, Stetson! For YEARS, you have stayed on top of the wireless service market and you are THE youtube authority on the industry.
Just found out about that option while speaking with tmo rep in store, after porting out to visable base on the $15 port in from tmo promotion. on ave I use about 2gb /mo, but was paying $55 for unlimited. My data speeds are terrible on Visable base (unlocked Samsung s23fe). Was working fine on tmo so I may port a second line over to tmo and use their data instead.
Stetson, you left multiple phone numbers visible in this vid when talking about US Mobile. Right around the 7:12 mark. (Just in case you weren’t aware).
@@StetsonDoggettjust curious what you thought about US Mobile speeds and coverage? I noticed you had lines on all 3 carriers. How was the speed difference on QCI 8 vs QCI 9 for dark star? I have 2 phones with them both on unlimited annual plans with a free $100 gift card on both lines. (Warp & Lightspeed)
Love ATT unlimited max plan for $55, the fact that it is treated like a post plan is what I like the most. Plus I’m not losing out on features either. Big fan…
There are two hacks for this and AT&T's other prepaid plans. First, if you pay with a gift card, the taxes and fees are waived. Second, if you buy the gift cards at Target using their store card, you get 5% off. These make a sweet deal even sweeter.
I switched to Total Wireless from T-Mobile last week. Now I pay $105 for seven lines on their total 5G plan. I’m a pretty happy camper right now. In my area T-Mobile had far better speeds and had better reception in my house but after a couple of days I don’t even notice it anymore. When you stream on LTE you get about 4 Mb down and when you stream on 5G UW you get about 9.5 MB down so I think maybe 720p and1080p.
I don't understand what this video streaming thing means. Is this talking about someone different then youtube. Because anyone can watch 4k videos on there phone through data right? I just renders slow if you have slow service?? What is the video streaming referring to?
Great, straightforward video! I’ve had Mint Mobile for the last 6ish years. I have the 15GB/$240yr and rarely go over, but I did this month because of travel and now I’m being throttled. This video randomly popped up in my suggestions, glad I watched. I’ll most likely be switching to Helium’s unlimited for more high speed data and not having to pay for a year up front.
Unless something changed in visible customer services, I will take US mobile any day of the week for the same price in both $25 and $35 range since I won’t be over the gig limit. U can talk to us mobile rep anytime and visible I was waiting fucking 8 hrs in line or even days at a time to get to the rep for basic info
You mentioned that you have Visible plus. Just curious why you didn’t switch to the Total $15 deal. That ends up being cheaper than Visible plus, even for 2 lines. Is it because all of the issues that so many people have had with switching to this plan?
Oh, my goodness. Legacy Magenta Max 55+, with price lock and unlimited premium priority data. I'm aware the limitations but you'll have to drag me kicking and screaming to something else. Of course there's no need for 4K video on an iPhone Pro Max, but it's nice to have truly high quality streaming and other data, whereas everybody else seems to want to limit you, for more money. Nope, nope. Not moving. :-)
I'm actually thinking of Black Friday this year as I'm already under US Mobile for their Unlimited Starter plan. It might be a few more months, but with everything else coming, if I can take care of myself & cover a few others for a year's service (especially as one's an Uber/Lyft driver), all the better....pending rather they'll run their sale again, of course.
So seems liek for the US mobile the priority data is only available on their At and T which they call Dark star and its and add on price you have the same info Stetson?
What about Lyka Mobile, would love to hear what you would have to say about their offers recent. Although i love visible, i think I'm never switching. I love the paying 25 bucks, it has never let me stranded, even in these Florida back country i get signal.❤🎉
Hiii! Which one do you recommend for working on my iPad in Houston, TX? I am a recent Uber driver and I use Visible and sometimes it only works well in the city center.
The US Mobile plans can be a bit misleading as it is only priority data on Verizon and only if you have a 5G capable device. The same plan on T-mobile and AT&T offer deprioritized data.
You can opt in for QCI8 on Darkstar if QCI 9 doesn’t work for you. There is an extra cost for this. I’d try it first and see if it’s needed. I have 4 lines under USM. 3 are on Warp and my line is on Darkstar. I haven’t noticed any issues related to QCI9 yet.
🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂ "It only offers priority data on the network you're using". LOL yes, that's how it works, Billy. "Only if you have a 5G capable phone". Like, is this really shocking to you? That you can't use some old 3G phone and access the 5G network? What's next, it's misleading because you need to actually have a phone at all and can't use your toaster oven?
@@ThouShaltConquer-t2c I made the comment earlier in the video based on the charts. Only Verizon has priority data on US Mobile. On the same plan, ATT and T-mobile do not. So you have to consider that as if you plan to use ATT or T-mobile you will not get priority data. You can pay for a slightly higher priority level on some ATT plans. With the Verizon plans on US Mobile, if you don't have a 5G capable device you wont get priority data even when only using LTE.
Ok I am having trouble trying to find a plan for me. I like visible but their coverage in my area isn't great. I am on a budget so can't pay more than 25 mo. I really need the unlimited hotspot and visible is the only one I have found that offers this.
Very helpful summary but hard to tell how much the advice can be trusted. How independent is you advice? Are you compensated by the carriers from your viewers clicking on the provided links, or buy Coverage Map for featuring certain carriers? What about all the other MVNOs not mentioned like Consumers, etc.
For international calls & texts, are we talking about just the default phone & messages apps or third-party apps as well like WhatsApp are affected if you have a plan that doesn’t have intl texting
A little off subject. I’m quitting T-Mobile. Which should I choice - The $15 bye-bye T-Mobile offer from Total Wireless or Visble or go with US Mobile?
2:42 Does the US Mobile Unlimited Flex let you switch carriers after activation? What is the best way to test a plan before committing to porting your number and paying for the full year?
Yes, you are able to switch what network you are on with Unlimited Flex after activation. One way to test a plan before committing is to create a new US Mobile account with a throwaway email address. Sign up for maybe the $15 5GB shared data plan with a new phone number. Run some tests and make sure the service works for you. Then, I would switch to US Mobile and make a new account with your personal email and try to take advantage of the new customer offer where you 30 days free on the Unlimited Starter plan. Then after that switch to the Unlimited Flex Annual plan. Hope that makes sense.
The problem is that Verizon's service is extremely mid anywhere outside of major metropolitan areas. If you give me the choice of Verizon or T-Mobile at any price point unless the features are extremely behind the T-Mobile plan is going to leave you with zero service frustrations compared to Verizon where they are PLENTIFUL (decade+ verizon customer and even in just the suburbs their service sucks).
I need to use my phone number in Asia for 2FA and turn the line on on wifi sometime for some FaceTime call. Any idea what plan would work the best? Thank you!
ATT Unlimited Max Plus isn’t unlimited priority I have seen you say this multiple times but they specifically say it may be slowed down after 50GB is used depending on the network traffic and I didn’t see you mention Crocket Unlimited More anywhere. I currently have Total Wireless Unlimited 5G Plus for its unlimited priority data I just hate being capped.
I just checked AT&T's website, and this is what is says for AT&T Prepaid Unlimited MAX Plus: "Unlimited talk, text & high-speed data that can't slow down no matter how much you use." I interpret that to mean the plan comes with unlimited priority data!
@@StetsonDoggett can you link that page as when I go it doesn’t show that I’d love to cash in on that promise. I have looked all over and can’t find that deal.
@@WellKnownWandererYou are confusing the unlimited max plan with the unlimited max PLUS plan. Unlimited max has the 50 GB of priority data. Unlimited max plus has unlimited priority data that doesn’t slow down. The unlimited max plus plan is a very hidden plan that you will not see on the att prepaid website. I know someone on Reddit has mentioned how to find the plan.
Stetson, quick question. Regarding the $45/month plans, you mentioned Visible being the slightly better plan for Verizon coverage, compared to US Mobile. But US Mobile has a Verizon option, so what makes the Visible plan slightly better?
Happy to answer! Assuming you are wanting Verizon coverage, Visible Plus provides better value if you fall into the following: 1. Uses a lot of data and is mostly in a 5G UW coverage area 2. Uses or values having unlimited hotspot 3. Wants an Apple Watch cell line 4. Wants 720p HD video streaming when on 5G UW Those are features that are better on V+ plan and thus may be the better option for you at that price point. I happen to fall into those categories, which is why I use Visible Plus. I also locked up a $35/month price point for 24 months with their CHAMP promo, so even better value! If you use 100GB or less a month, don’t use hotspot much, don’t have an Apple Watch line, or don’t care about HD video streaming, then the Unlimited Premium Plan at US Mobile might be the best option at that price point. The added flexibility of switching network coverage, a better app and website experience, and a more consistent customer support experience might be more valuable to you as a consumer. That’s the great part of prepaid: you have options and flexibility!
@@AndrewBCausethank you so much for the extremely detailed, thorough information! Much appreciated! Your info made my choice easy! I use a lot of data, and will need a line for my Apple Watch. Again, much appreciated Andrew!
@@AndrewBCausehey Andrew, one question for you. Do either of US Mobile or Visible offer roaming? Meaning, if you’re in an area where there’s no Verizon cell coverage, would either of those plans offer roaming on Verizon partner towers?
I haven't ever been to the states, but how does 480p, 720p, and 4k streaming relate to the data plan? Also, does hotspot data mean the data you can expend from your phone hotspot to your other devices, or is it data allocated for use on public hotspot networks of such a carrier? These prices seem very excessive with a lot of unnecessary lock-ins compared to how phone plans work in the country I’m from. I would appreciate it if someone could spare some time to explain this.
Since Visible base only offers Verizon deprioritized its a no go for me. Deprioritized Verizon network is no picnic, especially in the densely populated areas of the Northeast. Verizon’s network is so oversold and overly congested in this area the vastness of the network and network coverage is severely compromised when deprioritized that data is dealt available at any usable speed in rush hour times lots or over crowded situations. To take advantage of the superior Verizon network one must be in QCI 8 or better - US Mobile the way to go here
What about google fi? I get 5G, unlimited data in US, CAN and MX, 35Gb high speed, unlimited calls and text. 5GB hotspot. I have 3 lines, $30 bucks per line
It turns out that the T-Mobile Magenta plan is no longer displayed prominently on the T-Mobile website, and it actually requires you to call T-Mobile to sign up for it. You are also not able to sign up for it in store. So they definitely don’t want new customers on the plan, and my presumption is they will discontinue it at some point soon.
Would you rather have att unlimited premium pl or Verizon unlimited ultimate or t mobile go 5g plus in rural southern Tennessee? Does anyone know how coverage with those three are. The McMinnville area to be exact?
I've been trying to switch to Verizon to T-Mobile but T-Mobile requires me to put a down payment on the phones but Verizon I have zero down payment but we're service I'm kind of stuck on what to do I really need to finance a phone , And my other question is how long does it take to get the finance limit up on T-Mobile to finance like phones in the future without down payments cuz that's a big deal to me
Hi Stetson, been following you for a few years now. Rivian recently launched their Connect+ data plan which is unlimited (prioritzed) AT&T LTE data for $15/month. Do you if there is anything better?
Wtf are these prices goddamn, over here most starter plans are 5-7kwd (15-30 usd) and have a minimum of 100-200 gb 5g, unlimited calls and unlimited text. My plan (which I got offered after 3 months about a year ago and have been renewing monthly) is 3kwd (9 usd) for 250gb 5g and unlimited calls/text
I chose not to include that plan because it is a promotional offer exclusive to Metro, Mint, and T-Mobile customers, and it will not be around forever. If you are eligible for the promotion though, then it is easily the best plan by far!
Thank you for making this video. I've found it very intriguing and inspiring. I'm going to evaluate my options. Because of your videos and hard work, I've broken up with T-Mobile and went to US Mobile. Best decision I've ever made. Thank you Also, I noticed no mention of boost mobile. Is there a reason for that? Or did they just not make the cut?
When you don’t take into consideration phone trade-in deals, it turns out there are better value plans at every price point that Boost Mobile offers. I still believe Boost Mobile is a good option if you want a free iPhone with no trade-in though.
Cricket More at $55/ mo (tax/fees included) has Unlimited QCI 8 data. Anyone calling or chatting for 4K video streaming can have it, just by politely asking for it. Hotspot is 15GB high speed. Canada data is Unlimited but u can’t exceed 50% of your overall data usage in 3 months. This is therefore better than AT&T Unlimited Max. Unlimited Max Plus is better due to 5G SA being available in limited areas. Also, AT&T gave me an extra 5GB of high speed hotspot = 40GB as a permanent monthly present.
It turns out I just signed up for 3 lines on Cricket Unlimited More! I will definitely ask about getting the video streaming limit turned off! Thank you so much for the tip!
@@StetsonDoggett Anytime! Also, a few more things to add. I just got Boost / Dish Wireless for $25/mo + $10/mo hotspot. The algorithm has the line jump to Dish unless it’s ridiculously weak, since it costs Boost money to roam onto AT&T. You get *100GB* high speed data on Dish, even though you’re paying for 30GB data on device/hotspot with AT&T. 4K streaming on Boost, either carrier while on the Rainbow SIM or eSIM. Remember, AT&T’s ping will be approx 150ms due to you roaming onto that carrier. Dish has a low ping. I get a little over 1Gbps streaming on Dish. Your phone has to be Rainbow-certified, so Pixels are not included. Bands n29, n66, n70, and n71 are needed, so newish iPhones and Samsungs are perfect. First month is $12.50!
I have an old ATT plan Unlimited Elite I believe it’s called. It’s $82 after the discounts. My coverage is pretty good. I think I’ll stay put for now. I wanted Verizon. But that’ll run me at least $100+ per month.
Hi there! I appreciate you sharing this information; your RUclips channel is incredibly helpful to everyone. I am an immigrant planning to arrive in the US for a few months, and I would like to know if these networks and plans are available in every state across the US. Thank you.

In my area T-Mobile had far better speeds and had better reception in my house but after a couple of days I don’t even notice it anymore. When you stream on LTE you get about 4 Mb down and when you stream on 5G UW you get about 9.5 MB down so I think maybe 720p and1080p.
Lmfao no such thing as 7 lines on total max is 5😂
You’re absolutely correct! I had the video streaming speeds accidentally mislabeled in the video.
In EU and UK dependent on network and capacity we are getting minimum of 10mbps down but normally will get 100mbps + down
What’s the best for a family plan?
I don't understand what this video streaming thing means. Is this talking about someone different then youtube. Because anyone can watch 4k videos on there phone through data right? I just renders slow if you have slow service?? What is the video streaming referring to?
Stetson, please review the best cell phone plans for senior citizens.
Man, Thank you for getting straight to the video with no overtuned intro. Subbed just for that haha.
You are welcome! :)
I LOVE VISIBLE ! It’s great !
What happens when you go over the data limit? Just throttle down to 4G until the monthly reset?
@@gotUpdated it does not throttle to 4G it throttles to 1 mbps until monthly reset
11:22 why don’t you me mention that total includes Disney plus
Total Wireless is 50% right now. Can you do a video about that?
Now on ATT prepaid it's 25gs hotspot with 50gs of data
What’s the best plan that you get the new iPhone and unlimited data
Where are the cards for boost mobiles plans?
Nope, nope. Not moving. :-)
George, you have an excellent plan!
I was able to get the Visible + Champ promo so I’m getting it for $35/mo for 24 months plus I have the Apple Watch line! 🎉🎉🎉
Same! Plus I have quite a few referral credits stored up, so only $15/month for the rest of the year!
So seems liek for the US mobile the priority data is only available on their At and T which they call Dark star and its and add on price you have the same info Stetson?
4:10 find out which network is best for you in your area
Which plans allow you to add lines for kids apple watches?
I have Visable + and you can add an Apple watch for free
What about Lyka Mobile, would love to hear what you would have to say about their offers recent. Although i love visible, i think I'm never switching. I love the paying 25 bucks, it has never let me stranded, even in these Florida back country i get signal.❤🎉
Thank you Stetson. great video.
🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂
"It only offers priority data on the network you're using".
@@randomuser2468 for real? I've been using USM through LTE for a year lol
Great video. Can you suggest the best family plan for 5 people?
Great video! How come you chose Visible+ over the US Mobile plan?
Ok I am having trouble trying to find a plan for me. I like visible but their coverage in my area isn't great. I am on a budget so can't pay more than 25 mo. I really need the unlimited hotspot and visible is the only one I have found that offers this.
Super useful video, thanks for this!! Also thanks for correcting the Hello Mobile unlimited minutes :)
You are welcome! :)
At&t highest plan seemed like the best plan to be
Hi there, can you do one about the cheapest int. roaming plans? thanks.
For the cheapest international roaming go google fi.
I'm on the Helium Mobile $20 plan and can confirm 720p 60 and 1080p 30 streaming work fine @ 1mbps. Helium is not limited to 480p.
The AT&T prepaid unlimited max plan is FHD(1080p) not 4k
When checking signal strength what do all those colors mean? RED BROWN GREEN AND BLACK?????
Visible seem to have a poor 5G coverage in my area. I wondered if there's T-mobile equivalent of Visible+, but it seems not...
Thank you!
What about patriot mobile or pure talk?
I'm so mad that I can't find a single AT&T network provider that offered prepaid cards for my LTE backup. I don't wanna pay monthly. It sucks
@@WellKnownWanderer Here you go! www.att.com/prepaid/nrplans/
Stetson, quick question. Regarding the $45/month plans, you mentioned Visible being the slightly better plan for Verizon coverage, compared to US Mobile. But US Mobile has a Verizon option, so what makes the Visible plan slightly better?
Happy to answer!
Assuming you are wanting Verizon coverage, Visible Plus provides better value if you fall into the following:
1. Uses a lot of data and is mostly in a 5G UW coverage area
2. Uses or values having unlimited hotspot
3. Wants an Apple Watch cell line
4. Wants 720p HD video streaming when on 5G UW
Those are features that are better on V+ plan and thus may be the better option for you at that price point.
Keep up the great work

Does anyone know the QCI status of Verizon plans and all their MVNOs? Such as Visible? Or where I could find the info?
I tried the Helium Mobile but my voice sounded kinda funny.

😂😂😂
Visible has $15 unlimited?.is it good plan?.does boost have better network?
I haven't ever been to the states, but how does 480p, 720p, and 4k streaming relate to the data plan? Also, does hotspot data mean the data you can expend from your phone hotspot to your other devices, or is it data allocated for use on public hotspot networks of such a carrier?
These prices seem very excessive with a lot of unnecessary lock-ins compared to how phone plans work in the country I’m from.
I would appreciate it if someone could spare some time to explain this.
How do I find att prepaid unlimited max plus? I can’t see it on the website.
I'm definitely going to check out visible+ $400 a year for unlimited everything's hard to turn down.
Can you do one for mingle mobile? Thanks
12:21 what does u mean that t mobile I phasing it our pretty soon? 🤔
Wish you'd do a best hotspot video
I'll add that to my list!
Would you rather have att unlimited premium pl or Verizon unlimited ultimate or t mobile go 5g plus in rural southern Tennessee? Does anyone know how coverage with those three are. The McMinnville area to be exact?
Check out CoverageMap.com to compare coverage.
In Canada, these 25$ plans cost 75$ plus
I've been trying to switch to Verizon to T-Mobile but T-Mobile requires me to put a down payment on the phones but Verizon I have zero down payment but we're service I'm kind of stuck on what to do I really need to finance a phone , And my other question is how long does it take to get the finance limit up on T-Mobile to finance like phones in the future without down payments cuz that's a big deal to me
Is porting the sim the same as it was a year ago?
Hi Stetson, been following you for a few years now. Rivian recently launched their Connect+ data plan which is unlimited (prioritzed) AT&T LTE data for $15/month. Do you if there is anything better?
Watching these plans made me surprised as we pay only 42$ for a yearly plan with unlimited 5g data, 1gbps speed, unlimited calling and texts.
Us mobile should've done a 22gn plan for 20$ or 25$ for 22gb unlimited plan
no need for 25$ you already get 35 gb which is enough for average consumers
Whats the best trade in deal for an iPhone 16 Pro?

Wtf are these prices goddamn, over here most starter plans are 5-7kwd (15-30 usd) and have a minimum of 100-200 gb 5g, unlimited calls and unlimited text. My plan (which I got offered after 3 months about a year ago and have been renewing monthly) is 3kwd (9 usd) for 250gb 5g and unlimited calls/text
Hi Stetson
Can you do a best seniors plan
Wonder why he never mentions mint mobile unnecessary plan?
lovin usmobile so far im nevering porting out from them again
True, I see no reason choosing Visible over USMobile unless you want to use hotspot.
Why don’t half of the plan links work?
What about the T-Mobile connect $15 plan ?
Personally, I'd go with US Mobile or Tello instead.
Why is simple mobile not in here ?
where is the $15 plan from Total for this month promotion (byebyetmobile) fit in?
I chose not to include that plan because it is a promotional offer exclusive to Metro, Mint, and T-Mobile customers, and it will not be around forever. If you are eligible for the promotion though, then it is easily the best plan by far!
@@StetsonDoggett
I hope the plan offer will still be around by the time TMobile unlocks my phone.
Thank you for making this video. I've found it very intriguing and inspiring. I'm going to evaluate my options. Because of your videos and hard work, I've broken up with T-Mobile and went to US Mobile. Best decision I've ever made. Thank you
Also, I noticed no mention of boost mobile. Is there a reason for that? Or did they just not make the cut?
When you don’t take into consideration phone trade-in deals, it turns out there are better value plans at every price point that Boost Mobile offers. I still believe Boost Mobile is a good option if you want a free iPhone with no trade-in though.
Thank you for your insight. I appreciate you taking the time to comment. @@StetsonDoggett
Why is boost not in here?
You could get Verizon coverage for $25/month from Visible or US Mobile.
Why didn’t you talk about included streaming apps like AT&T giving you Netflix and HBO and Verizon giving you Hulu Disney ESPN?
