God’s timing is eternally on target, of course. I am reading the Bible through from cover to cover for the first time in my 70 years. I accepted Christ as my Savior as a seven year-old child in a CEF club at my home. CEF, in case you don’t know stands for Child Evangelism Fellowship 5 day clubs. Anyway, about 45 minutes into deep sleep I awoke to a nightmare. I can’t even tell you I ever dream but there it was, I scrolled quickly to put some Scripture on so that I could sleep in an atmosphere that was safe. Lisa Harper was speaking as I fell back asleep . This morning it was the first thing on my phone as I went to go do my devotion time. I call it “Me and God and Coffee Time”. I was eager to get into the reading for the day and you versions devotion, but I was prompted to not read, but to listen to Lisa. How precious that I don’t have to feel guilty about not opening the Bible this morning, but quietly opening my heart. Thank you for this interview. It was beautiful and timely.
There was this wealthy judge who worked a lot, and he would drop off his son at school and rush to work. His son was problematic at school and thought his father didn't love him. One day, for a school project, the students needed to write a letter to their parents and the parents to their children. When the judge's son open his letter and read it at school he was so happy, and full of joy, his dad had written a beautiful letter telling him how much he loved him and wished they would spend more time together, how he thought he was so bright and so many other wonderful thoughts. This son ran to the principal shouting look my dad really loves me. His attitude changed and was not problematic anymore. He was so happy to read and know his father truly loved him and wanted to share it with others. READING THE BIBLE IS THAT LOVE LETTER OF GOD THE FATHER TELLING US HOW MUCH HE LOVES US, if we dont read it we will be like the son in life.

Your pod came across my feed this morning and the title made me tune in. Never heard of you and I believe I recognized Lisa from acting, maybe!?!? I was honestly half way listen then something Lisa said caught me. I stopped and before I knew it I was crying. Love it! Her! And you for sharing! Close the Bible. What? It hit my heart hard. My disconnect and burden carried due to not adding up to what the world deemed as being connected and for her to say put it down. She doesn’t even know the release she has opened up for people. Wow ho co incidental my dad left us at 6 for another woman with 2 kids know Jesus for 44 years God became my father and my sister husband took on the role of my earthly father I'm married with a wonderful God-fearing man for 30 years and a beautiful daughter of 22 years who love Jesus with all her heart i always thought I was not enough but Jesus is enough love Lisa she is so real I can really relate to her God bless her an missy with a special blessings❤

So so true. The Holy Spirit will reveal things to me when I'm reading the Bible and I can't wait to pick it up again and continue reading. He ties all things together. The Bible is amazing!!! So many hidden gems

I was really hoping to have found a new podcast to listen too after seeing Bianca was a guest on Candice’s podcast. Unfortunately I was really disappointed when she recommended Jesus Calling written by a woman who dares to speak on behalf of GOD and then with her guest Lisa claiming that the woman at the well was married 5 times. I believe the woman stated she had no husband and when Jesus replied “you have had five husbands and the one you have now is not your husband” can be translated as she has had 5 men and was with a 6th man. I am afraid her explanation of this encounter could be misleading which makes me question some of her other thoughts.
Let’s also be careful about painting pictures of people who love systematic theology for what it reveals about God in ways that may not be true. Not all Christians are as expressive with their feelings as others and it does not mean they are as dry, stiff, heartless, loveless, emotionless, etc etc etc. as you may be perceiving them to be. Get to know these stiff, cold, boring, dry, sock wearing, Bible loving, God loving, people before making assumptions based on caricatures that turn them into a person who is merely using the Bible to guilt and shame you. Let’s stop making false assumptions about either Bible and Jesus loving crowd and do more embracing of everyone else’s unique personalities, gifts, talents, and abilities while taking our petty hurts and grievances to the Lord and offering forgiveness and the covering of multitudes of sins in love for others. Women can be expert old wound and hurt nursers. Jesus understands your pain better than any other human being ever could. Mark Lowery likes to say, “Show me your wounds!” But Jesus says, “touch my wounds” and “come to me” and “I am yours; you are mine” and “get up and walk” and “I came that you would have life, abundantly” and “I am with you always.” Dry seasons are a normal part of the Christian walk. Jesus said he will never leave you during the dry times or the dark times. Jesus is The Balm of Gilead in whom your sick soul will find healing. Forgive me for sort of posting verses from the Bible. I’m in a difficult season of life and I need these Bible verse reminders right now even though I’m not reading and studying my Bible in this valley because they are little glimmers of what I’ve already tucked away in my heart during mountain top Bible study times. Music is often my go to during times like this and "Hold On" by Katy Nichole is in my current play list. May God’s grace, mercy, and peace bless you all forever and ever and ever!
