    This vessel is AMAZING!When I grow up I want one just like it SERIOUSLY!

    Hi Marty, thanks for checking out the Crossover! It comes with bow and stern thrusters as standard equipment. Also, the three hulls track straighter than a similarly sized mono-hull so it should handle great in windy conditions. Let me know if you have any questions about it. Thanks! Nick @ Sundance

    Hi Carl, thank you for the comment! The price is on our web site at the bottom of the Crossover page. The link is in the video description above. (RUclips won't let me put the link in comments)
    Thanks! Nick @ Sundance

    Hi Mike, the Crossover would be a fantastic live-aboard! Speaking from personal experience, I've lived aboard another style of boat for about three years and would love to upgrade to a Crossover. The interior has the same wide open, luxurious, comfortable feel that the concept boat that we built last year (the WaterLoft) has, which is currently a live-aboard in Seattle. Let us know if you have any questions and thanks for the feedback. Nick @ Sundance

    Hi Mike, no problem! The Crossover will include a washer/dryer in the master stateroom, in the cabinets below the forward hanging locker. That is one thing I forgot to cover in the video. It will be a vented (as opposed to not vented, which some are) combo unit which is very convenient because you can set it to run a full wash/dry cycle without returning to start the dry. Stack might be doable but I'd stick with the combo if it were me. Let me know if you have more questions. Thanks! -Nick

    We have a 70 foot Monticello River Yacht we run on the Ohio. One of these might be an interesting alternative to running the boat we have. Being its length---it would be easier to find places to dock it when taking river trips since there are fewer and fewer docks big enough along the river that can accommodate a boat our size.

    Wow, looks like a boat to consider for our retirement live aboard. Just wish the Heat/AC and generator were not options, on Yacht this size, I would think it would come as standard equipment. Also did you ever consider dual helm stations, so the Capt. could have the option of steering the yacht from the upper deck? I'm going to show my husband this video as this yacht has features that I like.

  • @MichaelBeard
    @MichaelBeard 10 лет назад

    Are there any plans for a yacht with two master staterooms? We travel with another couple and the twin bunks just wouldn't be feasible. Just one more question. Would this be ok in the Florida Keys? We love what you're doing and can't wait to see what's next.

    Nice liveaboard design with very efficient hull design, kudos. Great good luck on sales.
    Hope you're using sprayfoam insulation everywhere you can and "flotation" foam in all the unused spaces of the hulls as well. Would love to talk to you about that.

    This is an interesting concept for a boat of this type--but for those of us east of the Mississippi---with shipping costs and logistics----it makes it kind of hard to and expensive to get them to this part of the country. Maybe you ought to see about either getting a production facility somewhere in the eastern US or contracting with one of the houseboat companies down in central Kentucky. I bet that the folks at Majestic Yachts, who really aren't building many boats any longer might do it.

    • @captainjim6300
      @captainjim6300 5 лет назад

      Most houseboats are built in Kentucky and can be delivered almost anywhere east of the Mississippi and west if it is via Gulf Intercoastal or a river that runs into the Mississippi and is navigable. I do not see this listed at link so not sure if they built them or if they still are if they did.

    Nick, please excuse my delayed response. I've not figured out how to track replies such as your's. Most courteous. Since viewing this option, I've been trolling other house boat options, new and used. It boils down to this, where can I put a stackable washer, dryer? Is that even feasible?

    I think it is an amazing concept, but why diesel when you have all the space necessary for solar?

    • @captainjim6300
      @captainjim6300 5 лет назад +1

      Solar is great for living except heating and AC but not for cruising. A large boat like that would require a huge battery bank even now it is 5 years later and still few boats of that size run more than 5 knots on solar panels powering batteries which run electric motors. A lot of hybrids which do well and diesels are quite small but I do not know of any that are totally solar/battery/electric motor of that size that could go any distance of more than say 10 miles max.

  • @ariddragon
    @ariddragon 11 лет назад

    In fact if Marty bothered to look at their web site he would have found that this Yacht has both bow and stern thrusters as standard equipment.

  • @nattsurfaren
    @nattsurfaren 11 лет назад +1

    I'm seriously considering buying this kind of Yatch and it has to be solar powered. I chatted with a skype buddy of mine that owned a Yacht but got tired of it because of the bobbing. My goal is to have a solar powered Yacht but I need a solution of the bobbing problem when there is high waves for example. I'm also thinking to have the same concept but larger so that I can have a garage for an electric car. Maybe I have crazy ideas but it sure would be awesome to have this.

    • @captainjim6300
      @captainjim6300 5 лет назад +1

      There are many hybrids but not many total solar powered options. You can get ones that supply liveaboard through solar in most cases and go a few miles on solar power but very few at slow speeds say 5 mph. Now they make hybrid cats that do above 10 knots and can cuist all day. I do not know of any one big enough to live on that can cruise on solar power much more than a hour. I know one cat design has a small diesel in each catamaran and electric motors. I know they have to run the diesels to cruise long distances but engines are like 50 hp at most.

    • @skeetersaurus6249
      @skeetersaurus6249 5 лет назад +1

      Define your ocean...1-3' ft seas...sure. 10-15' ft seas? FORGET IT. You will NOT be safe in 'average seas' in ANY pontoon boat, not like you would be in a trawler v-hull. If you are considering this, even for a 'Great Loop' traveler...forget it. Staying in a marine for it's life, or within coral shoals...possibly. River would be ideal.

    • @captainjim6300
      @captainjim6300 5 лет назад

      Not nearly as fuel efficient although it may be cheaper to replace. A inboard Diesel allows a much larger efficient prop and at cruise are normally economical if in the under 500 hp range.

    6-years later, not even listed on your website...I take it that $300k didn't fare well, once Gibson was bought out and came back on the market again? (I'd still pay $400k for a 6-year old Nordhavn trawler v-hull, LONG BEFORE I'd pay $300k for this vessel new...you couldn't get out past break-water with this if you had 10-ft seas on the other side!!!)

      No boat engines are vented one or two ways in a high horsepower go fast it is always released back into the water. In a commercial or houseboat they can use a dry exhaust stack although very uncommon for a yacht. A inboard/outboard diesel vents its exhaust similar to and outboard. I would assume this will vent the exhaust via a wet exhaust system back into the propeller wash as most do to keep from getting soot on the boat. The generator may be dry stack or also have exhaust vented into the water the same way. Yachts have used a wet exhaust system for years most are similar. The generator can be cooled with a radiator or a keel cooler and same for main engine. Faster yachts normally do not have keel coolers or dry stack exhausts. The dry stack exhaust makes cleaning become necessary more often so mainly more common on commercial boats.
