I LOVE IT!!!! A rebel with a cause. I know this yacht will be appealing to people who are young at heart and love to stand out in a crowd. I'm looking forward to the finished product.
Hanstaiger came to the right person for the proper presentation of this project. I look forward to following along on this series. Mine would not be black. I would like to learn more about the structural values of the triangular window shapes and their placement.
I am totally impressed. I am a disabled man who lives in Kansas. I have been watching your channel for about a year. I'm qualifying myself just for the purpose of your understanding how much diversity you have amongst your viewers. I really appreciate your explanation of upscale yachting and why things cost what they do. I really appreciate your lack of, how do I say this, airs? Snobbish? I feel like even though I don't think I would be a potential client, you still would offer me the same experience in visiting with you as a billionaire looking for his first purchase. I also don't find your voice annoying and I am a very American Irish Bohemian. I wish you continued success with your channel and genuinely am excited to follow this project. Feel free to ask me anything.. Sincerely Buzz Belt
Wait........did he just say carbon fiber with inlaid strands of TITANIUM?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I was sold on this yacht before. Now, if only I could get my bank to loan me some more money. Lmao!! I love it. I love the engineering, the materials, the design and the way that they're setting themself apart from the crowd. Great job guys!! Cannot wait for the day they put her in the water!!! She's gonna be beautiful!!
There is nothing about this idea and effort that I do not respect and admire. Making something that is your own and not just merging in with the herd of sheep is an idea for a lot of people. To actually do it and to make zero compromises doing it is reserved for the select few. I cannot wait to see this project finished. I love love love the design and would love to see this beauty in person.
You never disappoint David! 5 months on a Trimaran traveling the Pacific taught me one thing. I'd NEVER do it in a mono-hull! Trimarans are more stable and handle rough seas extremely well. All we had was a small generator and a bank of 12 volt batteries for the lights, comms and radar. Gas stove. AC? HAHAHAHAH! turn it into the wind and open the hatch covers! I wish John and his family good fortune and calm seas!
I like trimarans for the stability, but downside so far has been cost, ie having to tool up from scratch to build the hulls. Also curious whether the dark hull could be used for convective cooling or as part of a heat exchanger system. The dark hull should give a fair temperature differential between hull & water temperatures.
Hanstaiger couldn't have picked a better person to invite to a sneak peak behind the scenes. Incredibly well done editing and production, David! You have me excited for the next development in this series on a truly unique yacht.
I am guessing it will be in the 10+ million range probably closer to 20 million though if i had a billion or two kicking around i would pick one up. I curious what kind of production numbers there anticipating. I appreciate the deign though change is good.
If you have the molds to build a ship the costs are 15 -20 million having to make them all yourself pushes all the prices up The 2nd one would be like 20 million
In a sea of sameness, this is daring, bold, and astonishing. The creativeness and ingenuity is admirable, while the gawk factor is on another level. Definitely can't wait to see the finished product!
More and more people are seeing your tremendous potential not only as a yacht broker but as a TV host, presenter, producer and creator of fine documentary style films. Congrats on another high quality professional presentation. I can’t wait to see MORE...
It looks like sexiest, futuristic, beast of a trimaran. I belive there can be 500' yacht next to it, but still X1 will catch all the eyes with its beautiful hull and design! Keep it up Hanstaiger team and Yachts for Sale!!
The imagination, inspiration and dedication necessary to conceive such an absolute departure from the norm', based on cutting edge design, technology and engineering, breakthrough materials, components, and construction, and the skill set to manufacture to previously unheard of tolerances and strength, possess such radical foresight that it can only be described as visionary!
That's is the most Amazing Original build and design I've seen, I study and build sub scale models from scratch and I thought I was out there from a Autistic perspective but this gives me chills... please show more I will follow....
Certainly nice, Thumbs up from me. Now, how much did it or will it finally cost? That is the question. To have pockets deep enough to fund something like this, you must come from old money, or a very big lottery win. Can't wait for the final episode when you take this thing out for a spin.
I, as probably a lot of other's, do love to see somebody doing something completely different in an industry that feels a bit stagnant in design. An awesome looking little yacht!!
Impressive indeed. You present so professionally. Great editing. This yacht certainly is unique. My wife loves the Galeon Skydeck. It too is quite ‘unique’, but at $1.5-2? My preference is hold out for what you truly want, and can afford. My preference is a ‘traditional’ 45m (Trinity), a vessel that works well in the shallow Bahamas ... and something with a crew! Thanks for the video.
There are a few things I want to say but the most prominent is that I truly hope you do a follow up video on this when it's done, extremly remarkable yacht!
Tris have amazing potential to be functional and elegant. And subjectively speaking this is not the latter, hope this becomes a brand and have future iterations of less bulky but slender silhouette with length to accommodate the necessary elements. Great channel!
Its about time someone came up with a different style. For me the yachts out there same designs there either longer and higher as well as same shape this yacht looks really beautiful but different in style can't wait to see the finish. looks Beautiful
maybe someone should build a yacht that looks exactly like Millennium Falcon above the water. on second thought, Millennium Falcon don't have too many windows.
THE BRILLIANCE OF UNIQUE DESIGN AND THE ANTICIPATION TO DETAIL OF CIRCUNTANCIAL WEAR AND TEAR IN APPLIED REALITY MAKES INNOVATION A PERDURANCE EXPERIENCE OF LONG TERMS PLEASURES AND PRICELESS MEMORIES!!!.
Looking forward to seeing the rest of the videos and more importantly the walk through once completed. There is nothing wrong with bucking the trend, love the idea. All the major corporations in the world today are bucking trends one way or another.
What an interesting design. It has the layout of a monohull inside with the stability of a tri, having the living quarters inside the center hull instead of the outer ones like most tris (is there another that has the port & starboard hulls just probably some storage space just below deck and what looks like solid material below?). It still won't beat upwind worth a damn but at least you will be in serious comfort on the long tacks. I like it.
Hi Eric, I'm hoping to explain more about the layout in the next video, probably in a couple of months time. By then the floor will be in and I can show how it all fits together. They have some ideas that are very different from the norm!
Very interesting hull design. Can't wait to see the rest of the build! I'm a big fan of trimaran hulls I think they are a very safe hull design for heavy weather sailing.
As usual, amazing video! I don't know what I should think about the X1. For me it looks more like a spaceship than an actual yacht. But well, it doesn't matter what I think, as long as the owner is happy with it.
Very interesting. The man has courage to be totaly diferent. Will someone buy it? Yes. But how many will he sell is the question. I think that due to the high price tag it will have due to the materials used, it will not be used for basic charters where the object is to make money. But will be bought for use exclusively by the owners. I do praise the man for his dicission to due away with the fixed norms in building. Put things where he feels it should go instead of where everyone normaly does. Cant wait to see it finished. Thank you for the video.
I've been looking at various designs for about two years, and came up with a list of "wants" for my yacht purchase. So far, this yacht seems to be going in the direction that I was looking for. I look forward to your future reporting on this new yacht. I am also interested to know if the yacht has incorporated solar power. If it has, that would pretty well seal the deal for me.
Jeff in Canada ....of course..your deal would be sealed “for real” if you could afford one. Maybe they will make one for you for about $30,000 so you can finance it.

Curious if using hydroelectricity (electricity made by generators that are pushed by movement of water) would be an option since it's wind powered as well. Yes it would induce a little bit of drag, however the amount of electricity it could generate would be substantial and fairly maintenance free.

I definitely want to see that :)
I'd watch that.

Battinson's yacht? Wow!
It's an ugly drifter alright...
PS I really respect them for doing something like this(!) It's just that the design is a "complete" mess, in my opinion.

@Siward Beorn Thanks for the information. I wasn't sure there were enough panels to give a geodesic structural quality to the architecture.

The X1 will install 3Kw/h of solar panel and 4kw/h of vertical wind turbine.
