Everything looks the same for a reason: it works. The design of boats has been refined over thousands of years. It's not likely that something that breaks too many rules probably won't work very well. Unanticipated things will go wrong. Not just technical stuff, but liveability as well. Look at some of the "features" (bugs, really) of this boat: It doesn't look like you can get into the engine compartment without stepping on the engine, and the compartment is very small. The only way into the guest cabin is through the kitchen. Access to the crew quarters is ridiculous. The exterior finish makes great camouflage, but unless you are hiding from U-Boats (or the Coast Guard), you want to be visible so that ships much larger than you don't run you over. And so on. This boat was clearly not designed to actually go anywhere, but rather to sit at the pier or at anchor. I bet the owner sells it pretty quickly.
@@AQUAHOLIC It's been cool to come back and see some videos on your channel after having seen some for about two years ago, and see that your channel have grown a lot :) I was one of the people who said I was looking forward to if you would do a review of the silent yacht. @@williamherd7251 The price is very reasonable in the "boat world" :). But I get your point 100%. The market is a bit different with boats than with the housing market (I'm talking about house markets that aren't in a complete bubble). With boats, one thing that matters a lot is who has built them and how everything has been designed to fit together. Boats are designed generally so that everything is firm even in semi-rough sea. You wouldn't want the kitchen cabinets to fly off at the tenth wave of the day. The maintenance costs of such boat as in the video are high. The market is tiny compared to the consumer car market for example, so there aren't many production cost optimizations you can really do after a point, especially with these custom boats. This boat doesn't come from a hyper-optimized factory. Although don't get me wrong, the place that builds these kinds of things definitely has every high-end manufacturing tool available. But it's not a manufacturing line with automized robots. It takes an immense amount of manhours to build this thing. Not to mention the design work. With houses, if you have the drawings, you can relatively easily find contractors who will know how to build them for you. Materials are easy to obtain. With boats, not so much. Also, building larger boats/yachts requires a place to work with them. With these things, you cannot more often than not build 10 of them side by side. Also, this yacht is highly customized. What that means in the boat world is that there are hundreds or thousands of individual custom-crafted pieces and bits that fit together so that it doesn't rattle and break at sea. Someone had to design all of that and then produce the parts that cannot be obtained from common suppliers. For me, this boat is much better value at 4.25M € when compared to something like a Koenigsegg Jesko which costs something like $3 million.
This is the time I saw a price like this and agreed. The artistic touches alone are wonderful. You could buy a couple super cars you’d get SOME use of. Didn't seem to get mentioned a lot but surely the primary selling point of this boat has got to be the fact that it is a sailing vessel as well so the running costs in fuel alone must be extremely low. Sure it's not very fast but it doesn't need to be when it looks that comfortable inside and you can just enjoy the journey. I'd absolutely love to own a boat like this far more than a typical sailing vessel that usually look very cramped for my liking. Fantastic video Nick, thanks for sharing this beauty with us.
Absolutely! I'm a bit dubious of their "15 kts under sail" claim though. The rig looks relatively small (to be expected since it's a hybrid motor/sailboat). Maybe it can hit 15 kts, but I think you'd have to push it pretty hard, and at that point the guests are likely to be terrified, while the crew will be having the time of their lives haha

I love the rear drop of the aft door to open the entrance at the rear, you can see loads of possibilities, like driving a motorcycle/off road vehicle onto that area or various other ideas. The exterior of the yacht design, kind of reminds me of the Lamborghini performance cars with all edges. Just love it.

This is such an awesome boat . Love the way it’s been set up and the layout is out of this world. So much room and very luxurious. Good to think outside of the box and design such a beautiful boat . Thank you Nick great video
This boat just seems a lot cooler and also better than all the other boats in the same price range on your channel. Also really cool that it's also a sail boat. The last thing to top this boat up would be to have enough solar cells on it, and and then let the engines be electric.
Hey Nick, saw David do a few videos on this one while they were constructing it. Glad to see how it came out in the end. The builders said they can make her any color as this one is black, they can make one white. Basically it's all custom made to the owners specifications. Good job filming it.
Nick, you`re correct. WOW just seams completely redundant for that yacht doesn`t it. Superlatives haven`t been created that can adequately sum it up, just how attractive, imaginative and just how much fun that comes across. carbon fibre everywhere and racing car seats to pilot a sailing yacht... Wonderful. Hat`s off the the owner and ultimate thinker behind one the the most special boats you have ever reviewed on your channel. I`ve changed my mind.... I do sailing yachts now too.. LOL .... AWESOME!!!!
I believe the only bizarre thing is the crew cabins. I can't imagine how they get in and out that "compartment" on a rainy day, but the rest is truly amazing.
Words fail me Nick. Awesome. That’s about it. Such design and functionality. Never seen anything like it as you obviously haven’t. Couldn’t see anything I wouldn’t want or need. Great tour. Well done Nick
As an art piece this is really cool, props to the owner for building his vision, but there are much better ways to spend this amount of money on a yacht for sure, not a lot of space or usability for the price.
Interesting, it brings to mind a cockroach that's been stepped on. To each his own, certainly catches the eye. Practically speaking, I wonder about all the sharp corners and glass on a sailboat? Thanks Nick, great job as usual.
classic "boat" made for someone that doesn't know anything about boating and just wants to show off. besides all the nonsense most details look to be poorly made(eg. you can clearly see wavy gelcoat/paint and cheap hinges on the hatches). it will wow people walking past it when docked and be laughed at any time it takes the sea in less than perfect conditions.
Nick, I reckon this boat would do well as a charter. Can minimize fuel expenses as a motor sail yacht and he just put that savings into his eye-catching design to get more charters. Of course I think you’d need to charter this in a party town, which the owner has clearly thought about with Ibiza. Very intriguing project! What are your thoughts?
How lovely it was of the owner/operator to invite you to come on board to film the boat. You are clearly very well known out there. Thanks for the lovely tour.
Watched it twice now, still don't know how I feel about this boat. part of me loves it and thinks WOW, the other half of me hates it and thinks the owner needs sectioning, But then, I imagine this is the response the designer was going for. Another cracking presentation though Nick.
Extraordinary boat and a very well-made video as always Nick, but I find myself in a small minority in these comments in finding it awful in about a hundred different ways. I will pick just 3. 1. This is a sailing yacht for people who have no interest in or love for sailing. 2. The kids "business class" berths open to the walkway and the party area. What a ridiculous idea if you want some peace/privacy either from them or for them and 3. That party area enclosed on 5 sides of the cube, like one of those waterfront bars in a long terrace with just a rectangular view of the water.
Also, little bit of trivia: the hulls on the side of a trimaran are technically called "amas" (singular "ama"). On a sailing trimaran like the X1, it is possible to lift one of the amas out of the water when the vessel is heeling over slightly.
I really do appreciate the design of this boat, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this boat is never going to see more than 5 knots by sail. It's really a motorboat with a sail on top for looks. Kind of like a Turkish Gulet. They HAVE sails, but they don't REALLY sail. And let's be honest, it's never going to leave it's slip anyway. A dock queen if ever there was one. Amazing looking, but a dock queen nonetheless. The fit and finish, and overall interior design is pretty interesting. There's quite a lot there that I like. I did notice, however, that no one larger than an infant is going to make it through those "escape hatches" in the owner's cabin lavatory. The bulkhead actually juts out OVER the hatch, blocking it. I guess they put the hatches in for technical compliance, but just didn't care that anyone should be able to use them in the event of an emergency. And did anyone notice that, while sitting in the helm seats, you wouldn't actually be able to reach the wheel or read anything on those hidden screens? For this much money, you'd think they could get those simple ergonomics right. Or maybe the owner intervened and made them do it this way. Who knows? Just seems strange to me. All that said, I very much appreciate the walk through of this really interesting trimaran. It's nice to see people building boats that don't look like every other thing out on the water. I'm glad they stopped you and asked you to film her. A real treat.
Wow mind blowing. I love boats and yachts but this is Truly Amazingly Mind blowing. Think about when they do a larger version. This boat have me tripping out.

This yacht isn't to my taste but not gonna lie, it makes me smile. Love the owner's creativity! 💛
Thank you Aquaholic for this video tour of the most unconventional Yacht imaginable. Stupendous design and functionality. Kudos to the design team, manufacturer and owner that commissioned this phenomenal Yacht. Wow!!!
Glad you liked it!
I wouldn’t buy it, I would want something more conventional but it is truly fantastic and someone has built their perfect boat, good on them 👍
Seems incredible value for the money. A true work of art. Many Thanks Nick
It really is!
You are right Nick Sir... It's WOW 😍... What a boat... Looks like a mansion.. Perfect colours, matching with interiors and just brilliant... And as always looking Dashing and smart Nick Sir 😍
This is hands down the most interesting and awesome yacht for the size, it screams excitement and adventure.
Wow, what an impressive yacht. The styling is just amazing. Well done to the creators. I would love to spend a week on this beauty.
I’m speechless, a video i wouldn’t have a problem watching every other day.
Wow indeed!!
The most unusual, interesting and spectacular boat I’ve ever seen.
Thanks for showing us around Nick, it was awesome!!
What an absolutely amazing boat. If I ever had that amount of money to spend on a boat, I can't imagine I'd do it any differently. I absolutely LOVE the lines, angles, shapes. Reminds me in part of the New Edge design Ford tried to unsuccessfully to introduce... only taken to it's absolute most amazing conclusion. Honestly, I can't think of anything more intelligent to say than simply stunning.
Hi Nick. Definitely a WOW. such a fantastic tour. YFS covered the build. Unique in design, window layout and black colour. It's a Bat Boat really. I love it. Of course as a Celebrity you get asked to tour. Truly Epic. Thanks 😊
Oh my God, what a brilliant design. No wasted space, art and form come together...WOW~~
I never comment on your videos but wow, just wow. Absolutely insane. I am in love.
That is one of the Holy Grail boats I was hoping you would get to tour. Great video. You are living the life my friend.
Thanks! 🙂
What a cool boat! this is one of my favorites that you've toured for under 10mil. Price seems like a steal!
I normally skip sailing yachts but this one's an exception. Absolutely wow, this thing's insane.
yes it was a total surprise to see sails !
Not my test but I really respect someone who pursues a vision like this. Very cool.
Не хватає зброї.
Hey Nick, saw David do a few videos on this one while they were constructing it.
Glad to see how it came out in the end.
The builders said they can make her any color as this one is black, they can make one white.
Basically it's all custom made to the owners specifications.
Good job filming it.
This is absolutely my favorite boat on your channel. Totally jaw-dropping. I love it
I"m glad that you enjoyed it 🙂
Been watching you for years, not sure how I missed this one but glad it came up on my feed. This is just about how I'd want it!
Looks like the car Homer Simpson designed.
It needs some speed-holes under the waterline....
Looks like it's been in an accident.
The Ranchero 😅
No
@@ulriklange3924you mean Canyonero
Hot tub looks like something right out of a local store for $1,999.
Lots of sharp angles, especially getting down to the en suite in the owners cabin.
LOL .... AWESOME!!!!
This is my favorite boat I've seen on your channel! It really does have the feel of a spaceship.
I’m very impressed. Kudos to the owner and design team.
I believe the only bizarre thing is the crew cabins. I can't imagine how they get in and out that "compartment" on a rainy day, but the rest is truly amazing.
yeah, the owner thought of every luxury for himself and forgot about the crew !
Gilligan could get in there...the skipper not easily if at all.
It feels like a Space Craft from the game Star Citizen, I would love for more designs like this to become the norm; excellent job.
Looks like the Batmobile from Dark Knight right down to the steering wheels
It reminds me of the Nomad from Star Citizen
Words fail me Nick. Awesome. That’s about it. Such design and functionality. Never seen anything like it as you obviously haven’t. Couldn’t see anything I wouldn’t want or need. Great tour. Well done Nick
That has got to be one of the best yachts I've seen yet. Great work Nick
Spot on. Probably a nightmare to sail
classic "boat" made for someone that doesn't know anything about boating and just wants to show off. besides all the nonsense most details look to be poorly made(eg. you can clearly see wavy gelcoat/paint and cheap hinges on the hatches). it will wow people walking past it when docked and be laughed at any time it takes the sea in less than perfect conditions.
Probably the best man made thing I have ever seen in my whole life.
How lovely it was of the owner/operator to invite you to come on board to film the boat. You are clearly very well known out there. Thanks for the lovely tour.
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Watched it twice now, still don't know how I feel about this boat. part of me loves it and thinks WOW, the other half of me hates it and thinks the owner needs sectioning, But then, I imagine this is the response the designer was going for.
Watched David Seal's video on this. It sails like a brick, stuffing itself into every minor wave. Best experienced at anchor or tied to the dock.
It's like a naval architect wasn't even involved!
@@waxcomb pretty sure they were not actually
Also, little bit of trivia: the hulls on the side of a trimaran are technically called "amas" (singular "ama").
On a sailing trimaran like the X1, it is possible to lift one of the amas out of the water when the vessel is heeling over slightly.
Quite incredible. Watched it on the IPAD and then had to watch again on the big TV when I got home. Well done as always Nick.
Best inovation in yachting I've ever seen.
I see from their site then do a power only option without sail.
Just simply amazing.
It’s not often I have a strong dislike for a boat
But this one of them
Just horrible
Bonkers indeed
For a 'party boat' it sure has a lot of stairs. how many inebriated guests will be tripping up and down the steps all the time.
I think they hate their crew and nanny
I am in shock!!!! This boat is incredible and just leaves me speechless!!! I love it 😄
Wierd layout
yeah it looks really uncomfortable basically everywhere
A lot of it seems just stuffed in around other things. The hot tub for example…
I feel like a frog - want want want 🐸🐸🐸😃
Best boat yet, thanks mate...
I've been waiting years to see this ship on the channel. So greatful they you were the first (yachts for sale doesn't count) and I hope this receives millions of views.
Breath taking ,this yacht has got to be one of the best ive seen on your channel nick .
What a cool boat. One of the coolest boats I have ever seen.
Still one of my top favourite boats on this channel, such a stand out design, I love it
Amazing vessel & bonus points for the sails making it a proper yacht & not just a big motorboat!
What a creative genius! Absolutely stunning. Seems like a steal for the price.
When I grow up,, which hasn't quite happened after 36 years, I want to be Nick Burnham. Great video, Great presenter, Great boat. Nicely done, again, sir.
One of the best boats you've covered on this channel. Staggering.
Thought I'd hate it. I loved it.
Wow. Looks like the boat has come from the future. What a party boat. Thought the arms were a slide to get into the water, turned out you walk down them to get to the crew cabins. Must be the most bonkers boat you have shown us
Amazing.
I've been watching eEysman lately with the arrested super yachts but this is money far better spent.
The use of space is beyond imaginative. Thequality looks amazing.
The entire boat is just quality.
Thanks.
Wow, that is crazy. Smashing convention out of the park. Well done and great tour.
Wow, what an exceptional boat. Yes indeed, the futuristic design is reminiscent of STAR WARS. And as you can read in the comments, the boat could also be a great backdrop for a James Bond film. Thank you for the video and I wish the owner lots of fun with his boat. Greetings from Germany.
Easily the coolest yacht I've seen on your channel. Really cool
This vessel is totally EPIC!!!!!!!! Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is what I call truly being a visionary person. Kudos to the owner for the design. Nick you completely rocked this video like only you always do. Big thanks man!! Jersey Lou signing out.
This ship is impressive. Very unique and looks like a fun place to spend time on.
A perfect sailing family yacht!
A family could live on it, not for a week-end, not for a week, for months or years!
I've watched several other boat tour channels on RUclips but AQUAHOLIC is entertaining! Nick is the best. Most genuine and kindhearted presenter on this platform! I enjoy all of his videos and although I'm not a diehard boat enthusiast I nevertheless look forward to his latest tours! Thanks Nick!
You're very kind 🙂
This has been my favourite boat on the channel for a long time
Thanks so much, isn’t it amazing how creative sum people are. This beautiful boat is an example design genius and must congratulate the designers and builders of this brilliant creation.
