Best chess content for a while that I really enjoyed. You played games using the opening and I've not only remembered the moves but the ideas behind it. Thank u!
Alex, I absolutely love watching your videos! I am getting better very fast. I love how you explain the moves and how you play quick repetitive games so it's easy to see lots of lines and see similar ideas in different scenarios, including dealing with nuance. You also have an enjoyable manner of speaking and it's just fun to watch. Please keep it up - thank you! :)
Hey Alex, keep up the good work. It's very entertaining, but also educational. Me - as a dumb 500 Elo a couple weeks ago - watched your whole Caro Kann rating climb series and literaly haven't lose with black since .. With white I'm getting like toooo ambitions and feel like I have to take the Initiative... aaand blunder my queeen on move six 🙈 Thank to your Caro Kann series im 860 today, but really struggle with the white pieces. Havent watched this video yet, and excited to learn the Vienna now 😊
that's amazing! Im 1300 and this works like a charm. I really like your examples from real matches it helps see more variations of the vienna! that video made me subscribe bro
Thank you Alex for your excellent content - educational, insightful, hilarious! Keep up the great work, you are helping so many people become better chess playing while enjoying your witty banter.
Vienna game! Played less than 10% of the time so you learn 5 lines and you will beat everyone at your rating. On gm level black is happy to see this opening but everyone else gets nervous. Good opening.
Great set of games. Pretty sad that the game 7 opponent resigned. Yes he fell to a tactic but it was just a pawn and the position was still fine compared to Alex's sweeps from many of the other games.
A bit of comparison for people who’re looking to buy Vienna course form Alex or Gotham. Disclaimer that I don’t own Alex course so I assume that it’d be what he plays in the video. 1:05:06 on early Bb4 Alex’s moves are easier to remember since it looks like some other lines and can transpose into each other. Gotham’s move is immediate d4. There’re more tricks in some of the line but also more variation to remember. Fortunately it’s in the free section of Gotham’s course so everyone can check it out without buying it. 14:19 Gotham’s course actually doesn’t have 2.c6 or at least not in a drill. I think he did mention that if you play d4 and can take back with the queen and not get chase by the knight you should do it (which is why he recommend immediate d4 in the last line) but his studies and drills doesn’t have 2.c6 8:37 there’s also no 2.f5 in Gotham’s course. Probably because f5 is just losing. 35:56 a few move after Bc5 here is the same (f4) but 4.Be7 played by black in this game probably goes out of prep for both Alex and Gotham course. Just remember to bongcloud the king. I’ve take that bishop on h4 and lose before. The rest (gambit accept, copycat, 2 knight) looks to be the same and I remember the gambit main line being the same as well. Some other difference that I notice from Alex’s course page that have nothing to do with the Vienna (but is in the same e4 course) are as followed. -against Caro Gotham recommend advance variation while Alex recommend Fantasy. -against French Gotham recommend 2.b3 and gambit the e pawn while Alex recommend 3.Bd3 -against Sicilian Gotham recommend 2.a3 if you want a gambit and 2.b3 if you want a positional game. Alex recommend Rossolimo, Hungarian and Westerinen against different kind of Sicilian. If you get Gotham’s course the Sicilian chapters will probably be the most difficult chapter even if you only pick one of his option. At least that was the case for me. -against modern/pirc/philidor and Alekhine I wouldn’t comment since I haven’t review the course yet. I just think that it’s more important to get the Sicilian chapter more accurately so I’ve been using my time on that. -Gotham also have something against Owen defense as well. I’m not sure if Alex have that since I couldn’t find the table of content and his course advertisement page didn’t say anything about that.
Day 3 watching his e4 rating climb while learning Vienna, noticed my Vienna is getting better and better,i almost never lost playing Vienna unless i blunder ath ht accident
Caro counters the scholars mate easily. Once e4 happens, c6 d5 are unavoidable. Knight f6 and pawn g6 can protect f7 when there’s a threat. If your opponent players Queen h5 after you play c6 d5 you can play knight to f6. Caro is strong against early queen attacks, you’ll just have your opponent develop your pieces for you. It can be intimidating facing early queen attacks as a beginner but just stay calm and trust the Caro structure.
@@thecompositeman Vienna can definitely get you asap over 1000, but at around 1400 you will start facing other openings than 1…e5 so if you have time to study, that’s the pick! Tough to go wrong with the London nevertheless 🤣😇
Hey Alex, I'd love to see a Chessbrah collaboration. Is that something that would work for you? That being said, let's move on to the.. following comment
Yeah man, just from following you for a little while now I think it would be a good combination. I see a lot of similarities in humour, temperament, wit and instructional style. Both your channels balance helping people learn with obviously making a living out of this. It's not heavily weighted towards purely views nor is it overly analytical to the point of boring the viewers to death. Plus you're both good for a laugh. Just a thought anyway. Also my penis has grown several inches since watching your videos so thank you for that!
Alex is so underrated it’s insane. He’s up there for my favourite chess RUclipsrs and is possibly my number 1
Definitely number 1 for learning how to actually play

Amazing video, thanks you so much, i was searching some tricky opening and i think I find it ! Let'play Vienna ❤
Vienna looks fun, but I've avoided playing E4, because I'd have to learn a bunch of stuff for if they don't respond E5.
keep up the great work man your videos are helpful, much love
I look forward to you IM alex, from 500 to 1250 thanks alot i still have so much room to improve tho, anyhow keep it up!

“More violent than Mike Tyson in his prime”. You are the best!
Mersi Alex, succes!

Love the Vienna!! What other openings can I use/would you suggest that start with 1.e4 but don’t rely on black responding e5

1:41 Wow, that guy apparently was in the 1400s but he played like half that Elo XD
also 3:10 "You know your classics" XD
23:20...I would most certainly take the pawn...let him take back with the knight then I go d4, ifknight moves then Bxf7+!

@imalexbanzea do you think this is stronger than London?
"make 1400s drop like flies" lol. Alex creates great chess content, but you can appreciate his videos just for the laughs.
The Vienna gambit looks similar to the caro kann positions
At 40:45, what stops him from going Ng4 to block? Since pawn h3 shouldnt work?
Oh no my queen 😂 oh he can take my queen 😂 ohhhh he didn’t 😂🎉2:32
I always lose to check/pin on the dark diagonal after Vienna Gambit and short castle. What's the best plan to stay secure?
In the last game after Bb4, have you tried d4 with exd Qxd4 lines?
make queens gambit with white vids plss
Felicitari Alex. Cu ajutorul tau am ajuns de la 900 la 1350. Apropo, vei fi la Grand Chess Tour in Bucuresti?
What do you do against the accelerated panov in the caro kann?
Ok I'll subscribe now
His jokes are unmatched 😂❤
Philidor Defense opening & Italian System white opening (rating climb), please, sir.
at 16:30 is there also BxC6, black recaps with bishop followed by RxE7 as the knight no longer protects the darksquared bishop?
That was fine too!
Ești super fain! M a ajutat f mult ce ne zici
I think the guy resigned because he didn't realize he can take the queen back
I played Vienna gambit for the first in a tournament and won.
King's gambit rating climb please!
@ 15:01 Alex Banzea where is your rating climb at least to 2000 +? Wish to see you beating 2k with Vienna and C.K. ;)
Alex is the shit, my Caro Kann is pretty mean these days. 😂
"Ok we start with e4.... and my opponent makes an amateur mistake, blundering e5"
At 4:31 - IF Queen f6, how does bishop d5 prevent Queen f2? And how would you defend Queen f2 in this scenario?

48:22 Why not knight C7, finding the fork?
How about the caro kann opening vs the scholar's mate? Early Queen opening are killing me. I am having a hard time at my level.

just wondering where in the course is the c6 line at?
For the vienna gambit why can’t the knight just go back to its starting square?
Why is it that in every video I watch from you I hear you say “now for the Halloween gambit”?
Hey Alex, do you have a vienna course? The link is only for london system. Thanks
