My Dad would have Been 27 , mom..23, AND HOW THEY LOVED TOO DANCE... I REMEMBER THEY ALWAYS LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE FLOATING AROUND THE DANCE FLOOR , THEY DANCED SO PERFECTLY TOGETHER . I MISS THEM, EVEN MEAN OLD DAD. THANK YOU, THIS IS A RARE TREAT.
I'm American and the announcers' accents, especially the first one, sound American to my ears... and are bizarrely close to my own recorded voice-- certainly close enough that I could put them on with little added effort. How bizarre! I knew old Received Pronunciation was more similar to American English, but I never would have guessed HOW similar they can apparently sound.
I used to work for AFRTS, and I have several War Department transcription discs from WWII & Korea that I've collected over the years. I would like to digitize them but I cannot find a machine that will not only accommodate a 16" disc, but also not damage the grooves with the incorrect needle. Can you suggest a machine that fits those criteria? I'm dying to hear them!
Hi Steve, that sounds like a fascinating collection. Unfortunately, I'm unaware of a turntable that could accommodate 16'' discs. For my records, I simply used a modern turntable with a cheap 78rpm cartridge fitted.

As a British person, the Ironox guy definately sounds like he's either American or putting on an accent
Enjoyed!
