we love that area...we go more to the east - around Bakewell. But there are LOADS of bicycleways around the peaks. All on old railway lines. Such a good idea. I would like to have a go but the saddles are far too narrow for my large posterior!! It hurts me to sit on them for anything longer than about three minutes!! Loving these videos though.
Crikey Gordon Ive only just watched this! Thanks for the mention, a bit further on now its August but on the mend, keep having little moments of despondency but apparently thats normal. I never tire of the High Peak Trail, damn lucky to have it so close really. Then of course there is the Tissington Trail which leads to Ashbourne from Parsley Hay, and over at Bakewell we have the Monsal Trail supposed to be doing that one fairly soon! Great to see you enjoying the bike. Going to watch a few more now!...Atb Nige.
Thanks for watching Nige and glad to hear you're getting better. It was you that inspired me to get back out on the bike so keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing how the bike packing trip goes!! Could do with a bit of decent weather for it!!
38 miles on a Ebike? have you got a 1000 watthour battery? (i've a 400 watt hour one and only do 26ish miles mostly on lower setting?) what is your bike details please
Bryn Noble morning, the bike is a cube with a Bosch cx motor and a 400 watt hour battery. I did use it sparingly as I was paranoid about running out! Most of that trail you can ride in eco mode or even off altogether to eek out the miles!
that carsington water you pass you can ride all the way around that its 8mile, just follow signs for visiting centre,
Thanks for that, I love the cycle trails that have been built in the Peak District. I shall have to give he Carsington Water a try. Thanks
