I have finally read Nicholas Sparks' most well-known romance novel, and it's not what I thought it would be!

I do consider it a good and engaging novel, though it was more hard for me to proceed and finish through the old age narrative at the end. I mainly got the book to read the young love story itself.

Nevertheless the elderly scenes are complimentary to the young scenes. My theory is that Allie chose the man that was going to be more suitable for her Alzheimer’s - the romantic poet.

Yeah, I think most people are more interested in the young love story than the other story line. It gets pretty heavy and can hit hard when you have misplaced expectations going into the book. And interesting theory! That's some clever foresight on her part

I like the movie, but I like the love story in the book better.

I cried my eyes out towards the end. This novel is a masterpiece. ❤😭

I can see why. This story is a lot more heart-breaking than I had pictured!

There is no Ferris Wheel in the book and he doesn't write everyday for a year. Lon is much older than Allie and a work-a-holic. The love scene after the rain in the book is much better than the movie, but I really like the movie. I do not like reactions to the movie that say she should have picked Lon because he is rich and better looking. I am still trying to find where anyone got the idea that Ryan Gosling was every not attractive.

Yesterday, I told Sadie, I should pick The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks for the book club 😁 but it appears you already read it. 😊 There is a sequel..... I just finished it. 😉

How was that sequel, by the way?

@@erikhillreviews It was typical Nicholas Sparks book, had you thinking one thing and the last couple of pages of the book it is whole different story. 😊 It was good though.
