I wish it happened but Arcsys probably isn't interested. Just like other less notable classic anime franchise today, it's become common to only get chances of appearing in a big new game as a guest in a crossover. And anime crossover games already became a kind of classic idea, in a way.
I'm always amazed at how fast this guy learns combos, like lightning fast, a few fights and that's it. I will go through several videos until I get what's going on with the game to start with even before attempting to do a single move hahaha great video!
This game may be completely broken (it still has a dedicated competitive scene in some JP arcades), but it has the most fluid, extensive and creative combo system I’ve ever seen in a fighting game, and as a result is incredibly fun to play. It’s a shame the Fightcade2 player base is quite low - hopefully this video will bring some new players in!
I'd argue HnK is not a shonen, it's way more violent and crass than the likes of Dragon Ball or One Piece, but it does predate them. It's only real "shonen" aspect is _"Main character gets mad at evil guys and punches thrm a while lot."_ the similarities end there.

It doesn't matter if its a comedy manga, a super gore battle manga, a romance manga, etc. Plus, it was published in the Shōnen Jump. If Berserk, for example, was published in the Shounen Jump, it would be a shounen even though is super gore and adult (it would not happen, but let's pretend for the sake of the example)

It's literally JP-only, which is an actual crime since it's such a solid game in a somewhat well-known franchise, even outside of Japan. _And_ it's an ASW game! This shit needs to be officially ported to PC already.
Future references (if its not covered); the way you do instakill is when you deplete your opponent's 7 counters under their health bar. Once you see that shining dot under them is when you can do the instakill.
@@costelinha1867 I would say that after the shin saga up to Souther fight was the golden times of the original anime. The Shin saga was better absorbed in like 4 minute recaps because it had a lot of entertaining moments but lots of "grunt of the week" stuff going on that got boring quick.
I really enjoy how open Justin is to the enormous variety of fighting games. I wasn't sure I'd ever see this being played by THE MAN and it was sweet to see him in action.

You enjoy this game twice if you know the original story. It was funny when kenshirou used the musou tensei (the most broken hokuto technique) and justin didn't have a clue. Or the "what are you doing bro" attitude during Raoh's legendary death pose. Amazing video, pure gold

Had this game when I had a JPS2. Game was honestly pretty damn fun. HNK is my favorite anime/manga so getting all the references is half the fun. I always called this game Hokuto Broken, but that's kinda part of the charm.

Honestly you can't tell me there's no way for them to patch this game for some balance tweaks and just general combat balance... To me this game right here is the most untapped potential in the history of fighting games because it's so polished at its core and it just needs some optimization...
Certain special moves and universal attacks like banishing strike remove 1 star and you can only take 3 stars maximum per combo. But there's a bug in the game where if you tiger knee a special that takes a star it will be classed as arial and you can take a 4th. Also, you can do star combos into touch of death super if they have enough stars removed during the combo.
Awesome game, great video, would love to see Justin get crazy good at it! But man I'm distracted by all the people in the chat talking mess about the anime! The show can be repetitive sometimes, but it's an iconic certified classic for a reason! You kiddos need to go watch it and learn your history!
there was only on FOTNS machine in an otaku arcade in Japan and not many dudes playing it, but I remember one guy getting something like a 91 strike combo, it looked insane.

Fist of the north star is the shonen of all shonens. You can draw a straight line of inspiration from it to all your favorite, and modern shonen.

Great game. Watched the animated series. Creators were inspired by Bruce Lee in the creation of Kenshiro. Also has mad max vibes.
The original anime is pretty good if you're willing to forgive the somewhat limited animation, and some tropes. Really entertaining 80's anime.

When I was a little kid I played Hokuto no ken for the NES, I find the anime like 15 years later and finally make senses why the head explode
