Good explanation
Especially in terms of breaking down why we do things!
Understanding:
1. Don’t “wait” for the attack, you want to preempt asap.
2. The attacks are “categories” of potential problems that can be built upon.
3. If we teach Kajukenbo we also have to share how to “move” like a Kajukenbo person and pass on the “flavor” of the art…which is definitively aggressive.
In contrast one of the parent arts, Kodenkan Jujitsu was not as aggressive in approach and this relationship is super clear in the initial response to a wrist grab.
I grew up doing both and came to see a reason for each approach over time.
