- I knew the GEM module is going out in the truck. It's always a good idea before you go to fix a problem you want to be sure your are fixing the problem . Simple stuff like a bad fuse, or bad relay switch are cheap and easy fixes. Or you spend all that time wiring around a GEM to find out the motor isn't working or what if it's two problems. You want to make sure you have enough understanding of the problem or problems to know what needs fixing.

After a heavy rain my wipers turn on and won't turn off until the rain stops & humidity dries up. I checked the GEM module to see if it was wet.

I have a problem with the courtesy light some times it comes on and sometimes it doesn't
i have a short on a 2oo3 4.2 blows fuse until i pulled two half relays for wiper. dome light not working. but i'm not getting voltage to alternator to charge, battery light on . could that be GEM too
Which slot did you put your spade connectors in once you removed the relay?
Anyone know if 97 f150 has a fuse for the washer fluid pump, or just the relay? Relay is good, pump is good, water lines are not clogged,...just not getting power to the washer pump harness. Thnx.
My wipers won’t shut off! Any recommendations? For now I’m unplugging the relay. Just a bummer when it rains.

My wipers starded doing an intermediate stop can't remeber if its in low or medium but what do actually need to replace i want to fix it part # please
Did you ever get an answer from anyone. Mine are starting to do this too. Stop for no reason then start again. If I change the intermittent fasting they stay running fine. But if it's just a constant selection whether slow medium or fast, they stop sometimes. Not good.

It sounds like the same issue I was having. The GEM when it starts to go out will act flaky till it completely dies. I had to buy pass the GEM and used a SPDT Switch. The link below is how I fixed it.

Where did you get your GEM. Does it have to be programmed.
Concert610 if I wanted to wire up a switch to bypass the GEM and I wanted to wire in an in-line fuse, what amp fuse should I use? Thank you anyone who might know?

Are all three of the lighter colored modules for the wipers & wash fluid? Why not just replace them all?
The relay switches are working fine. The problem is the GEM inside the truck went bad. I had to bypass it. I was looking for an easy way to test to make sure it was the GEM module was bad and that it wasn't something else. I would love to replace the GEM module but they don't make them any more and the only place to find them is out of Old Ford Trucks that are also having the same issues I'm having.
