I am a Ex Graham Hancock obsessed fan, and I’m saying stop platforming this dude also lex go on destinys bridges show rn ur just being a little bit better than Joe Rogan when it comes to anything
@Skimodrew You do realize that Hancock isn't arriving at these conclusions in a vacuum, and that we are missing multiple pages from the history of human development and human civilization from before whatever happened before our current wall of historical evidence grinds to an abrupt halt about 6000 years ago...
Lex, have Flint on please. You owe it to yourself if you have any principles. Is it not plainly obvious the way Graham speaks versus any of the experts you've spoken with?
It has been demonstrated ad nauseum that Flint misrepresents Graham, Graham's work, and science in order to...? We can only guess what his motives are, but all I see is a dogmatic white knight gate keeper that is riding the coattails of Graham's success as an investigative reporter.
@@Adrian-sy9qkif you had said the same thing about Hancock, he'd be crying a out being cancelled despite his fucking Netflix deals and numerous books.
Dibble is a first wave millennial who was more concerned about his hat and laughing in Grahams face....like a typical toxic Millennial. For every Ben Shapiro, Charlie Kirk or Lex Friedman you have a million toxic millennials who need to stop talking.
Yeah, Graham was projecting when he said archaeologists are arrogant. He cannot even steelman the mainstream opinion. The lack of self awareness is blinding.
You should probably take the time to actually listen. He said he likes the professor’s determination and willingness to engage with Graham. He also called him a better debater. People like you genuinely suck for being disingenuous
Nobody is denying that.. but have you taken in the vast scale and amazing accuracy of the great pyramid... then compare it to pyramids not found in giza.
Its profound because currently we do not have a technology that enables us to replicate Pyramids of Egypt.Condidering how insanely heavy stones used to built pyramids are and how precisely they are positioned is in itself mind boggling.I`ve heard that some of the largest cranes that we have could be able to lift heavy stones but not as heavy as those used to built pyrmids and placing them so precisely is another matter all together.
No one archeologist is saying the prevailing theories are the only ones that matter, and that new ideas shouldn’t be considered. They accept and actually proved the existence of the younger dryas. But theories based on 3000+ year old myths and the very broad coincidences are on no way the same level as theories that provide actual evidence.
Science is business and highly influenced by external pressures. As time goes on science is becoming more and more like a moralistic religion. Of course, this is just my opinion. I also believe that science has somewhat of an adversarial structure. The thing I find really interesting is the emergence of opposition to some of Darwin’s theory.
@@betterd9160 Not really. Archaeology readily absorbs updated information and theories backed by evidence. The difference is peer review, which can be pretty brutal. Archaeology uses evidence to come to a conclusion. Graham uses a conclusion to cherry pick evidence. There’s a big difference. I’m not a Graham hater either and he got me into the subject but that’s where he’s off.
@Manbearpig4456 Archaeology isn’t a monolith as Graham portrays it to be. Sure certain professors are going to dig their heels in and refuse to change their ideas however most will when presented with convincing evidence. Look no further than the White Sands Footprints.
@@c_rock3512 I agree. Science at its foundation has a highly structured logic approach but you have to admit that it’s also easily swayed by the social zeitgeist.. archeologists do attempt to tell a story or narrative based on what they find. Psychology is my field and it is for sure influenced by ideology.
Are we all ignoring the big point. Archaeology doesn't act like a science. Because its not a science. Its anthropology. THAT is why is acts like a dogmatic religion.
Because they are just grasping at straws to discredit him. So they use common buzzwords like "racist" or "misogynist" because they know people will latch on to those words without doing any of their own research on who Hancock actually is.
Playing the victim is how Graham sells his ideas that are based on little to no evidence. So what if Dribble got a fact wrong, Graham gets everything wrong
Observers have pointed out at least 5-6 lies from Dibble on the debate. He also lied on the Danny Jones podcast about precision vases. Three decades ago, Graham's main thesis is that the archaeological timeline is wrong, and that everything is much older. Over the past three decades, with every passing year, he has only been proven right.
@@NWBwana hahahaha, he was not dishonest. a few incorrect facts versus deceiving and perpetrating a an alternative narrative for the sake of millions of $$ on books, tv shows, appearance's etc.. im afraid Hancock has never, nor will ever have any scientific or archeological credibility. but you are indeed able to believe in anything you like. Ill stick to books with credible facts in them thank you.
@simonRTJ he is dishonest. And when you continually misrepresent how you misrepresented facts, you further prove your dishonesty. I'm not here to promote or defend Graham, but boy is it telling that the Dibble fans have to resort to that tactic to defend their boy.....they can't just defend Dibble without needing to rely on ad hominem tactics. Dibble lack of integrity and intellectual honesty is of itself the issue regardless of who he is dealing with. Science is based on replicable experiments. Once an archeologist uncovers an artifact, no one can uncover that same artifact in the same location for a second time. There is no repeatability in archeology, meaning archeology is not science.
@@TrendyTriviaTribe Actually that is a partially incorrect statement. First it is true you can’t replicate something that has been excavated. The same could be said of paleontology, yet it falls under science. I’m going to use material evidence since you used that as an example. Let’s say you find a cup in an archeological site dating to about 1000 years ago. Archeologist would study the material through methods such as mass spectrometry, confocal microscopy to understand how the item was made. Of course care is taken to not damage the sample to ensure other archeologists and other researchers can test to verify or disprove current findings. There is the repeatability. The methods used to analyze the cup have been repeated and peer reviewed to ensure the analysis is accurate as possible.
@@Bioarch125Have you heard of Prof Edwin Barnhart, Ph.D., the archeologist who discovered more mesoamerican culture than any other archeologist? He unearthed and mapped many Mayan towns from the jungle. His perceptive is that archeology is not a real science. When he sends off fragments to be carbon dated, they are destroyed in the process. I trust his judgment, since he devotes his life to archeology. If you want to learn more, you can watch the Danny Jones podcast with Ed Barnhart from a week ago.
@ Yes I have heard of him and he has done a good job in his area of expertise in the Maya region. I wouldn’t claim that he has done the most, there are tons of archeologists have done an equal amount of contribution in the Maya region. I am not denying his influence I know who he is and my colleagues who are Mayanists do speak highly of him. He mapped those Mayan towns and cities using LIDAR, which is a methodology developed using the scientific method. Essentially if I remember correctly using a plane or drone they scan the area with lasers that allows to determine the topography of the region that would expose the region. It was fascinating what they discovered. I am an archeologist with a focus on bioarcheology, and I would disagree with him. Does he say this on the podcast that you are recommending? We do use the scientific method. The portion of repeatability is on the methods of how the data is analyzed. Normally Carbon dating is not done through ceramics because it normally does not have carbon. What is carbon dated are remnants of fire pits, plant remains, animal remains, and in some cases human remains (This one is highly dependent on the approval of the country or descendent community). For example sex estimation on human remains is repeatable, so is ceramic analysis through the analysis of typology or microwear analysis to determine use patterns, which can be repeated. There are tons of papers that use methods that are repeatable. There is a whole section in archeology called experimental archeology. It’s pretty cool and there are some videos in RUclips that showcase this. More importantly there is published articles that show case this. I would love to hear this discussion and I appreciate the recommendation.

It is an archaeologist's job to talk about what we can prove and what there is evidence for. Speculating about things that there is no evidence for has no part in archaeology. There is room for both, but we need to be clear which is which.

Forget who’s correct, mainstream archeology or Graham Hancock, listen to how each party communicates. Unfortunately the “loud” archeologists are way too emotional leading to stating theories, ideas, research as facts. It’s a bad look. More honest conversations need to take place. Saying you don’t know is not a fault. Dibble is not the right spokesman for this task.
You have to consider the position the mainstream archeologists are coming from. Hundreds of years of education and work only for some guy with zero archeology experience to try to push a false narrative, which pretty much is a slap in the face to mainstream archeologists. It’s like he’s telling them that all those hundreds of years of research and analysis was for nothing, and they got it wrong. And he continues with this narrative despite he himself stating there was no evidence found yet. He’s simple making large claims based on a hunch. It’s like him saying NASA needs to explore the dark side of the moon based on a half baked idea not supported by the existing data. Graham is a legitimate hack.
Are you listening at all? Graham is the one constantly grievance-mongering, claiming that Flint slanders him as a racist. Watch any interview with Flint - he emphatically states that he does not believe Graham to be a racist. Graham spends most of this interview self-victimizing himself instead of discussing the hours of archeology that they debated.
And yet the Flint fan boys here claim just the opposite, that Flint is the civil one presenting facts. He's the foul mouthed loud one accusing the other of racism and had to lie to seem to appear to put Graham in his place. Well that backfired for anyone that has followed up. The best take on Flint is to compare him to other scientists like the one mentioned twice in this clip that complemented his character and his research abilities despite totally disagreeing on the theoretical conclusions. And he was in support of Graham continuing to investigate his theory.
@zzzzzach Flint specifically states dozens of times that he does not believe Graham to be racist. It's not being a "fan boy", it's listening. Of course he supports Graham continuing to pursue his theory, that's science. But guess what? Graham does fuck all in that regard.

Mr. Hancock has such thin skin. He claims alot, but DOES NOT "LISTEN". He just waits to talk. I don't doubt his passion, but science is a team sport that no single person can really understand all the nuance, and measurement bias' that can easily creep in that outsiders can point out. The debates take many hours to years. If Graham feels like he's consistently losing, "maybe" he should reflect on that... not everything is a conspiracy (although it does sell books)
Graham's message is probably often overwhelming for the average person to handle. This is likely due to Graham's many insights gained through his psychedelic experiences, which many cannot relate to. I also believe that, as a person, he was/is not prepared for the attention he has received in such a short time.
Incorrect. Having explored many psychedelic drugs and experiences - Graham's message is simply boring. It is fanciful, and fun. However, there is 0 evidence for his major claims, as he admitted on Rogan. The ancient civilization that taught multiple other ancient peoples various things left behind no trace? Graham has had attention for decades now, as he has been a popular author for decades. Sure, it's more attention now, but that's because it was under some scrutiny. His ideas are fun - but they are also nothing new. Most of his ideas were already proposed in the past. There are more interesting things to find out/gain from following the bleeding-edge of what is going on in archeology - as opposed to listening to Graham trot out the same stories he's been telling for 30 years now. They are not overwhelming ideas.
@@arekhautaluoma4276 The ideas already proposed in the past, you mean like the many myths throughout the world that mention that very phenomenon? That these ideas were already out there is a good thing. This is not about being original or different. It's about spending a lifetime looking into it to see if there is a there there. He may be wrong but science also has uncovered a ton of inconvenient findings that don't fit their own theory. Including those findings and investigating new ideas should be encouraged even if the mainstream scientists don't want to. There is a huge difference between Flint and the other scientist they mentioned. If you hear him talk about Graham, he compliments him on his character and his research and encourages him to continue even though he adamantly disagrees with Graham's theoretical conclusions. It's civil and refreshing. Flint's behavior really only goes to prove Graham's point on the scientific closed mindedness and incivility.
Graham’s put forth no evidence of this civilization sadly. How he’s convinced such a large number of people to follow him has always impressed me. I’m not a Graham hater by any stretch, and would love for him to prove his ideas, but unfortunately this may never be the case.
Well he could fund them to look at where he think his civilisation, he has the money and big mainstream connections in American mass media and economic elite.
Your blind or ill researched to be oblivious to the vast megalithic stone structures around the world with zero explanation of who and when they were built or how ......
@@ZeekoRamen I love Graham’s theories and story telling. But have grown tired of him playing the victim. In his debate with Dibble his biggest argument was Archeologists try to discredit him. If he wants to call archaeologists out he needs to present evidence, studies, analysis etc. If he wants to stick to theories that’s fine, and I would enjoy that, but clearly he has no intention to do this.
1. Territoriality or scientific rigour? 2. "Attacks on me" or criticism of an idea that has less or no scientific basis? 3. "I wasn't very interesting to them." Why is it always taken in a personal level when there is a whole community that tries to find as real as possible a model of human development. "They feel they should be the ones who get global attention" = an accusation based on purely personality faults on the part of the accuser. Hancaci can be a entertainingly imaginative, but his emotional tactics are Trumpian, thus negating any speculations he may make compared to more reliable sources. "Me and my wife spent thousands of dollars diving" is not a justification of spurious claims. Debunking the entire history of a scientific method that once had to fight with a mythological church to be justified is. Achesp trick from Hancock. Speculate all you want, but leave the wounded dog rhetoric, it kills any legitimacy you may voluntarily claim to have
I don’t admire anything about Flint. I recently discovered him and do not feel that he is special in any way. He is quite ordinary and the norm when encountering university types. I feel like he publicly attacked you in an attempt to suck off of your energy and get his 15 minutes of fame by debating you.
Publicly attacked? Graham has been attacking mainstream Archeology for 20 fucking years and Dibble went on JRE and told the truth… that’s attacking Graham? Doofus
@@kylerichardson2384He has a right to criticise archeology. Flint and his other pals don't have a right to label Graham as racist, xenophobic, misogynistic etc and to try and ruin his reputation.

One Greek family moved to Great Yarmouth. Now there's the biggest greek community in The UK. No need to bring animals. Clearly nobody brought any animals to Australia as they're all indigenous.
Wrong about the construction of the pyramids. They found that dried up section of the Nile that used to be near the site. Lying would imply that he's doing this on purpose for personal gain.@@ZeekoRamen
3:01 and don’t forget the fact that you have no actual evidence to back up your hypotheses and theories, but you push them as obviously real and whatever you like to
At least he has original concepts. I'm glad he shares his unique view so I can decide for myself. Glad theres no such thing as woke archaeologists that adhere to strict academic dogma... That would never happen... And definitely hasn't ever happened in the past... 😅
The first Australians did not bring any animals as far as we are aware. Dogs and other domesticated animals were not brought over for tens of thousands of years. We are not sure that they even used "boats" to get to Australia. They simply may have hung onto logs or coconuts or made very simple rafts. His stating that they must have used boats and it must have been 1000 people and there must have been a scouting voyage is pure conjecture. Grahams is making up a migration story. Truth is, we don't know the details surrounding it.
You mean thousands of people just made rafts or held onto logs and left a shore into the ocean where there was no sign of land in sight? Because archaeology is about the past, conjecture is part of it, in science as well. Theory is conjecture based on data and findings. Now, which one sounds more plausible? Yours or his? Both can coexist by the way. That's the problem with Dibble et al. They can't accept that an outsider has proposed an alternative to explore. They don't have to but why discount someone else from exploring and investigating it?
I have seen many interviews with Graham Hancock. I always leave the content in the middle. Neither what archaeologists say, nor Hancock himself. But what I have never understood is that some/many archaeologists always label him as racist while I see no connection whatsoever. What does racism have to do with Graham Hancock's work??? Can someone please explain that to me?
Do they though? I only saw them say that that he uses sources that are skewed by white perception and Flint showed the evidence of that in Joe Rogan podcast. I don't know how can you not be convinced by archaeologist after debate with Hancock. Flint brought overwhelming evidence and the only response Hancock has is that he didn't look under that one specific grain of sand in Sahara. His whole argument is that they can only say with 99% confidence that there was no lost civilization like the one he describes. The same way nobody can't disprove my claim that there is lost civilization of dinosaur space explorers. You can claim anything, but if you do it's on you to prove your theory, his has no proof
But that could just be a trait of, PEOPLE. Our sense of wonder/curiosity. Maybe it's akin to animals and certain behavior. If I'm using the term correctly: birds can be seen flocking together, but like humans, we couldn't have predicted cultures sharing similar ideas, despite being separated by land (?). Or you could interpret Graham taking something that just IS, and making it an attribute that can endowed at will? That is to say: wonder/curiosity is a feature given by or inherited from another entity.
Flint is desperately trying to make some name for his non-self by associating himself with Graham. Let’s be fair, Flint is an embarrassment. I assume this is anoint him trying to scrape up a few bucks from coffee donations from gullible but good hearted people using his toxic spin and misinformation.
for 30 years I’ve liked Graham Hancock’s books & ideas but his Netflix show is too much drama & posturing. Not enough of the science. Too many slow motion shots of Graham walking around these beautiful structures! I think he’s right about ancient civilizations but he needs to stick to the science. Keanu Reeves????
You mean there's no room for presenting alternative ideas of history with beautiful scenery? He does admit the first season was far too heavy on the drama. I mostly agree with you on the weight towards more science but I think there's room for beautiful presentation, and even for Keanu. He's an interesting guy, higher minded. Look how much attention archaeology and human history has gotten because of Graham?
Weird because Graham goes over all of the things Flint lied about on his own channel in an hour long video. Flint tried winning the debate, while not caring about what was true.
Graham is a national treasure. What a free balanced thinker so capable of admitting he could be wrong while presenting facts to show he could be correct.
The Smithsonian has a massive amount of artifacts that do not align with the history we're told and looking into their funding and oversight is very suspicious to say the least.
He talks like someone trying to profit off of nonsense and spin. “When I published my global best seller I became a threat to them” another interpretation is that they saw a book that was filled with confirmation and selection bias become influential on a global scale and so they made an effort to point out where he’s wrong. If that is the case flint dribble was their worst possible ambassador cuz he was smug condescending and manipulative. I want to believe graham Hancock but I feel what his work is missing is the question ‘if there was an ancient technologically advanced civilization, what evidence would be left behind?’ Because the evidence of our existence will be painfully obvious in the future because of the sedimentary layer that blankets the earth that is filled with plastic soot and other pollutants. There will also be underground infrastructure that will be found all over the world. Space debris. If our civ dies we might leave a cloud of debris orbiting the earth for a million years. With that and the 10,000 radioactive sites around the world you’ll never be able to obscure our existence within the population. So where is that kind of evidence Mr Hancock?
While he’s no where near a racist he is a pseudo scientist and he’s out to lunch on most topics he writes about. He couldn’t fight back when Flint used the archeological record to back up his claims. Hancock has no evidence. I used to be fascinated by his writing. No longer.

A pyramid is the easiest and most stable structure that can be built for height for ancient man. Why is this so profound?

Too many coincidences within the astronomical designs not to look at. “Indigenous” people even claiming they found places. Graham's arguement is basically... you can't rule it out, The archaeologists are saying, there's no actual evidence.... Graham's been singing the same song for yrs, show us acutal evidence with actual proof..

Mr. Hancock has such thin skin. He claims alot, but DOES NOT "LISTEN". He just waits to talk. I don't doubt his passion, but science is a team sport that no single person can really understand all the nuance, and measurement bias' that can easily creep in that outsiders can point out. Have you ever heard of Galileo?
He may be wrong but science also has uncovered a ton of inconvenient findings that don't fit their own theory. Including those findings and investigating new ideas should be encouraged even if the mainstream scientists don't want to. There is a huge difference between Flint and the other scientist they mentioned. Where is the grift?
Dibble came off as a prick. That's for sure
But that could just be a trait of, PEOPLE. Our sense of wonder/curiosity. Maybe it's akin to animals and certain behavior.
Have Dibble on. It’d be interesting to hear some deep archeological insights.
Then why have him on?
He's not a white supremacist. Such a stupid suggestion infuriates me!!
While he’s no where near a racist he is a pseudo scientist and he’s out to lunch on most topics he writes about. He couldn’t fight back when Flint used the archeological record to back up his claims. Hancock has no evidence. I used to be fascinated by his writing. No longer.
You mean like the 3 million documented shipwrecks? That ended up being actually more like 280,000?
Hancock made a fool of himself, classic
Graham is a treasure.. I've been listening to Graham and Randall Carlson for years.
@@AidanCulverREALI'd rather take him seriously than someone who makes up lies about him to get him cancelled. Because they didn't like what he said.
@@ZeekoRamen That's EXACTLY what you're doing!! hypocrite much?
Flint's "trust me I'm an archeologist" hat is what does it for me.
"The clothes make the man," they say? ;)
