Installing real tile in the van!
Step1) PREP PREP PREP!!. Get the framework sturdy enough for the plywood so theres enough attachment points and screw every 6-8 inches
Step 2) Screw a piece of ply wood so theres enough of a lip for your first row of tile to sit on and make sure its STRAIGHT! it'll be super noticeable if its crooked
Step 3) apply the ACRYLPRO with a trowel evenly and create horizontal grooves
Step 4) Press your tile on the adhesive a slightly move it up and down to make sure you get enough adhesive evenly spread on the back of the tile
Step 5) Space your tiles using the 1/16th" spacers making sure your first tile is centered
Step 6) mark where you need to cut your tile, brace the tile cutter against a wall and align the scratch wheel with your mark. Scratch the tile by rolling the wheel over it with some downward pressure. lift up on the handle and place the paddles on the tile. press down on the handle until the tile snaps
Step 7) Repeat steps 3-6 until the entire wall is filled
Step 8) wait an hour until adhesive dries
Step 9) Remove spacers and dampen the tiles with a clean sponge
Step 10) apply grout into the gaps and wipe away at a 45 degree angle. repeat until all the gaps are filled with grout
Step 11) With a damp sponge, wipe the grout off the face of the tiles without removing any grout from the gaps
Step 12) Polish the face of the tiles with a microfiber cloth until all the grout is removed from the face

Nothing wrong with doing sticker stuff but I personally think it looks cheep! I’m super happy with how the real tile looks in the van 🤘🏻

You made that look really easy yet I still never want to do tile and grout work in my kitchen
Doing it in kitchen is tough, because you have to worry about not getting anything on your countertops and cabinets. Hence why I did the tile before any of that lol
Nice job! I have been planning to tile our kitchen backsplash soon. my counter top didn't end up being flush with the wall so I am in the middle of figuring out using a backer and how I will trim out the edges of said backer.... We'll see how long the planning takes me haha
Haha oh no! It can never be simple huh? 😂 if you’re using subway tile I know they make the bull nosed edge pieces for that reason.. or you could use regular trim lol 🤷🏼♂️
When planning for the tile backsplash did you know you would wind up having to cut the top row so much thinner?

Why not just use vinyl? Best cosmic looks like vinyl anyway and SO Much easier and wayerproof
I used 3 panels from Home Depot to do something in a few minutes
I personally don’t like the look of the peel and stick tile 🤷🏼♂️ that’s all.
You should never install tiles onto plywood its not directionally stable. Instead use hardibacker cement board.
