Wow Colton its finished.... Wow just 3 hours ago. I wanted to thank you for guiding all of us through the build you did an amazing job. I will be following a lot of the construction instructions you posted as other videos I watched weren't as thorough or as professional as yours. I'll be buying a T-shirt to sponsor you and I think everyone who is reading my message here should do the exact same things.
Just beautiful!! You should be so proud of all your hard work! Your tutorials are the best I've seen and I feel like I've seen hundreds by now!! Thank you so much for taking the time to go into such detail and depth!
Nice work! I've watched a lot of the videos you have posted while working on finishing this van. The finished product looks so luxurious and has so many amenities that I would want in my own van. Thank you for sharing your journey! You did a beautiful job!
Such a great build! Happy to see it's finished, congrats! Thanks for all the content, I've definitely pulled some great pointers from your vids for my own build!
Beautiful and practical van build. I watched a friend of yours on SUV RVing. He mentioned your company while Tristen was interviewing him. I wish you success.
I just found this!! New subbie too. Colton, thank you so much for all this wonderful info and full details that will help us build out our ProMaster. By far the best practical layout that we have found.😃
Beautiful build. Sub’d and liked. Looking forward to more how too’s and ideas for when I finally make the leap into vanlife. Thanks for the great vids.
Just found this. If I had seen it last year when you had it for sale I would have been replying:) You do great work. I would put drawer/cabinet pulls that you could not hook your clothing on. I would also add a couple of 12 volt cigarette type 12 volt outlets. one by the bed for a 12 volt electric blanket, and another over a counter for 12 volt appliances. So interesting to have a portable shower. What a wonderful van. Somebody is a very lucky person that bought it!
Excellent! If you are in the market for an adventure van, I would highly recommend this one. I've been able to see the craftsmanship and details of the van first hand on multiple occasions and it is top notch. High quality additions in this one make me jealous and I am considering upgrading in the future. You won't regret purchasing something from Ankeney Van Builds.
I love walnut! You have a very expensive project going and walnut is such a minor cost to the project but adds so much eye appeal its worth the cost. NICE JOB
The only thing i can see that might add to this beautiful setup is a complimentary floor air duct to the MaxxAire Fan or another ceiling fan. Also a toilet under one of the bench seats would be great.
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds been following you since beginning. Copying you with my van. Someone will be very lucky and happy. Will sell like hot cakes. Look forward to next build
Wow!, its beautiful, you should not have a problem with someone buying it. It is fabulously finished. Love it. Great wood working skills. Finishes are perfect. I am going to go back and watch your build. Your colors are spot on.
The van is so beautifully built.. but my question is "what is it with you guys an outdoor showers"🤷. As a single female going on the road I don't want to shower Outdoors. And please bear in mind I just came across your RUclips page this is the first van conversation I've seen from your company.
Thanks for the compliment Asha! Everyone has different preferences and uses for their vans. Some are more of the “weekend warrior” travelers and having a full shower and toilet that they use once a year maybe would be wasted space and weight for their van. So having a small light weight portable shower as an option suits those needs better!
Why don’t you make videos anymore?? You were great at this and think you could make a great RUclipsr man. I’m about to build a van and will be using your videos to help with a ton of it!
I am in love with the concept and flow of this van! Your choice of material and color scheme is just my taste! I tried looking for your email but only saw the product description...Would like to private massage you for pricing.
WOw nice van conversion, solid job mate! I was wondering where did you get these upper cab thing that locks the door in place? Been searching for these forever!!
As you suggested several times, I learned from your 'mistakes', which was very helpful as I start my own project this year. So I appreciate you sharing your experience with others. I have one general constructive comment thats worth noting. Your fit and finish could have been far better throughout the project, and I suspect your skills are far better than this. I noticed several countersunk finish nails in which the holes were not filled and sanded before painting, and even some that were not even countersunk at all and you still painted right over them. There are a lot of material joints that could have a much tighter fitting for a more finished look. I suspect that you were in a hurry to finish this and get it sold. I just want you to be aware that you dont need to inspect all that closely to detect the many imperfections as they are noticably evident. I encourage you to take a litttle more time in the details in your next project as many will notice and appreciate the effort. For example, at 5:12-23, the trim on the drivers side of the fridge has unfinished countersunk holes and dried dripping paint. Just a little filler and light sanding would have made for a significant improvement.
Thanks for the feedback Steve. I have gotten far better at all of those things. Painting isn’t my favorite thing in the world but in every project since I’ve just accepted it’ll take a long time and really focus on filling every hole, sanding smooth, multiple coats, caulking and all that. I appreciate you giving solid feedback without being a jerk... it’s a very rare thing in the RUclips comment section 😂
I’ve followed your entire build and learned so much from them. This build is awesome. Great job 👏🏼 Next time, you need to sit like that on the bed. You’d get even more views. 🤣
It's a gorgeous van but I noticed under the sink the hoses are kinking up and will eventually split and crack. Perhaps in future try the flexible hoses they use for washing machines. They are much sturdier and if too long just loop it and use zip tie to hold the extra length. Not dissing this guy just an observation. No hate mail please. If I could afford it... I would buy it in a minute.
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds It wad the one hose you showed the quick disconnect on. I just want the tubes to crack and cause any flooding in such a nice van.make that don't want them to break.
@@patriciaburr4826 ah I see! It’s a food grade silicone tubing so I don’t see it cracking in time soon. But it is a bit long. So I’ll go ahead and shorten that so there isn’t any kinks!
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds that makes sense. Also a quick question on your insulation. How much did you need to purchase?? This is my van of choice and I am saving for it. I try to pick up a few things ahead of time as prices will go up not down I am sure.
@@patriciaburr4826 I bought 2, 30x60 roles but DONT do that. I had almost a full roll left. One 30X60 did about 95% of the van. Maybe a 40X60 would be better
amazing work. definitely understand why people demand a premium for already converted vans. still i simply can't afford 25K-35K additional for the conversion; at least that seems like what people want over the cost of the empty van. so I'm going to do it myself, appreciate these vids. Out of curiosity, how much weight do you think a conversion like yours adds to the van?

Here is what you van builders need to think about. Look at the other vans on the market. Dont copy their entire setup. Second make it simple and serviceable. Make it custom. Add small touches to make it unique. I see the same layout in every van. We really need people to think otherwise your van is going to get lost in the shuffle and van build series are a waste i see 1000 of them and alot of them are much better and more thorough. Thanks for the feed back Tim! I believe every van is unique in its own way. There’s a reason there are many similar layouts and it’s because those layouts work both functionally and aesthetically! If you go off the rails trying to be the most unique van out there you might end up with a uniquely useless van lol. I’d rather have a functional/ beautiful van that is similar to others than to prioritize getting views!
