Think RNG just because you stated it was smoother and engaged at a lower rpm. Not looking to go over 50 to 55 mph. Fuel economy would be nice to know if there was any noticeable difference also. That’s for all the work y’all are doing.
To be honest I don’t think the fuel economy claim is all that true. When I say it’s smoother “it has slightly less engagement clunk” the rng kit is smoother off the line but that’s at the cost of mid range power imo. I felt the msc kit has better mid range and lower end as well. But also notice that in that test at 60mph they were pretty much the same. So no real gain or loss. I’d recommend looking at the stage 3 comparison and scroll to the end to see the chart we made to help people visualize everything. Also another thing to notice is belt temps. They stayed cooler. I personally feel the rng kit is great for someone who puts around on a farm or around the house and stays under 20mph but that’s my opinion of the kit. But either kit is a good kit just depending on use. Also I think msc came out with a new “road kit” recently as well.
I ordered the RNG kit because I use my UFORCE 600 around the farm and need to go slow especially when we spray the fence line. We also like to ride around the neighborhood down here in Florida where we have sand roads. I absolutely hate that jerky jerk just to get going. When my machine is cold it won't start going until 2500 RPM and then I get one heck of a jerk. Hoping the RNG kit gets rid of that.
The rng kit is a decent spring. It’s smooth off the line and putting around the yard it’s nice. The msc on the uforce is tuned slightly different then the z950 to remove the initial engagement. The rng kit will see a slightly higher belt temps but overall it a good setup.
@@mjmisadventures950 that's what I need just putzing around my property. We pull a tank sprayer to spray the fence line and I need to go slow and stop a lot so it sounds like the rng kit i have coming will do what I'm needing. Thanks for the help and video.
The MSC/Vhattu Varikko loses tension on the main spring yes I engages at 1850rpm but in less than 3months it engages around 2000rpm. Confronted vathue about this and he wouldn't fix this issue!!!! Not happy about this!
I’ll keep an eye out for it. But I’ve now put about 250 miles on it so far and mine is still engaging at 1850 pretty much every time. But I’ll definitely keep it in mind to monitor it
The soft springs in the RNG will make it smoother at idle but softer springs means less belt tension , that increases the changes of belt slippage and in turn more heat. Also as you increase tire size the belt heat and slippage will just increase.
I have spoke to Rng and that’s the kit he recommended for the machine and the test. He just got off the phone after a 2.5 hour call to check everything was working properly. But thank you for the compliment😁
Great point actually. I do mention it in the unboxing video I believe. Both kits are pretty close in price “if I recall correctly without discounts” there around 30 dollars difference for a stage 3 kit between the two. But msc uses a stainless steel spring springs vs rng uses a standard steel spring with paint. Also msc includes that shim that serves two purposes it would as a small spacer for aftermarket belts and it also helps to alleviate spring twist and binding.
Sorry to be fair I believe it’s actually in the stage 3 comparison. I have a ton of info I cover in the last 8-10 minutes of the video and I show everything on a board for visual representation. But to be honest it’s not a huge price difference between the two kits.
Great job redneck. Seemed from this video your kit don't have to work as hard to achieve the same goal. You got them down low and you had he smoothest and your kit keeps the engine in a safe operation range in the RPM. Just purchased your kit tonight.

As I’ve said in the other 3 or 4 posts you’ve made the data is just that raw data. IT’s designs to assist people to find what they want. I have said that from the beginning. I prefer the benefits of the msc kit “top speed,0-30,0-60,trail use, deep mud” so for me it is best. You keep saying your not paid to say this but that’s kinda odd you have said that in 3 of your posts. I get it if you like rng that’s perfectly ok. I’ve said it before I have no hate towards rng but I can send you 4 of rng’s videos where their in deep mud with a ton of belt slip. Again the facts are facts and the numbers are numbers that’s the point was to give people numbers and let people see the difference and then reach out to BOTH companies and ask their questions or try and learn more that suits them best.
I just purchased the rng primary kit. Wondering why the springs aint stainless. I hope the springs paint doesnt chip and rust. But i dare say it will still be much better then stock setup
It will be better then stock. It’s probably going to rust some unfortunately. When I spoke to rng he said to me that the stainless springs are cheaper “I didn’t find that to be true though” and don’t work as well “again I didn’t find that true”. My best guess is the springs he gets pre made and that’s why he doesn’t have stainless steel because only vv does them. I would recommend that you keep and eye on yours because my springs paint came off in around 40 miles and it’s a pain to get out. Another thing it’s going to slow you down to around 65 and with a little downhill you’ll get 67 but it won’t hold it there. But it’s a decent kit for putting around. Also I think it’s a little better on the rocks due to how low the engagement point is.
@@mjmisadventures950 are well. Its not a perfect world. As long as its better then the stock system ill be happy. And maybe in the future we might get a better spring. Just pissed it nearly cost me $500 to purchase the spring. Weights and clutch holding tool. Im not too fussed on top speed. Tracks im on are semi technical so you barely hut top speed. Nice. It should do ok but I found in testing the belt always ran a bit hot. You might wanna look into a cvt blower motor or at a minimum try a belt temp sensor. But I can’t believe it’s that expensive to get it shipped to Australia. It might have been cheaper to get a Vauhti Varikko kit because their from your side of the pond. But heck yeah man. Also what kinda cfmoto did you put the kit in? Also your doing a primary kit correct? Why did you need the tool to change it. It’s just 2 bolts after you pull the cover off
@@mjmisadventures950just a quick question. Did you set your primary retaining bolt (think thats what its called) to 74 ibs? I think thats the spec for it but not sure
We’re using a Z950 ho I would think the numbers for this one would be slightly faster but still follow the same trend. Also we’ll have the stage 3 testing posted today at 5pm. That’s where it gets really interesting.
I see that MSC sells various gram weights. What is the upside or benefit of running various weighted weights. Such as 16G weights vs 22G weights? What would the gain or advantage be swapping weights? Not big on what the various weights in the primary do or how they work. Meaning what their job is along the line of how the CVT clutches work?
I can’t say. I’ve been explained the lighter weights help it to engage easier and slightly faster but the heavier weights seem to give more mid range power. But it also depends on the spring weight if it’s setup to run that lightweight of a weight as well
Honestly it depends on what tire size your running. I’d say a 30 inch tire is your tipping point of needing the stage 3 but it’s not truly necessary. But the advantages are worth it imo. The stage 3 gives you your top end back.
@@mjmisadventures950 hmmmm well I’m running the stock 29s that came with the 23 model. Might just leave it for now until these tyres kark it then I’ll see what I’ll do.

Well MSC tells people publicly I sell their kits and all of a sudden they get me by 1MPH at 1,000 RPM more and they are genius 😂 idk anyone who wants to over rev their engine. There is a reason redline is 7,000
Awesome review my friend. now lets talk! WOW such high RPM thats NO GOOD. 1000 RPM More to gain 1MPH thats NOT GOOD! not for the average trail rider anyways. We do need to see trail tests because road tests aren't it. good work good review tho. the folks need to see how responsive the kits are in the trails in the mud etc. THE MSC kit having that higher RPM in the mud your going to hit limiter quicker when the wheels are slipping and spinning. we also need to see what these do in low and how they perform because thats the gear your supposed to be in on the trails. again theirs probably hitting limiter faster witch isn't the best experience. Lets talk RPM and why i tune my kits this way We tune my kit for engine longevity Lower cruising RPM for better fuel consumption better MPG while still getting good power gains if your running the road for 10 miles to different trail heads you dont want your engine to be screaming wide open its not good on Crank bearings and many other components in the engine revving your engine isnt the best thing. this is a whole topic i would love to get in to. will that 1MPH be better in some sort of drag race absolutely but then again i didnt send you my race kit i sent you my trail kit. one thing to remember is we build many different styles of kits. i do like how close these results were but what i dont like is that high revving RPM just to gain 1MPH that dont say a whole lot and 99% of trail riders are going to agree with me they dont want their engine screaming they want more power at lower RPM with a smoother more linear shift through the whole range with that unbeatable SMOOTH RNG Clutch. just my thoughts i would love to hear feedback from the viewers and dont forget for those guys who do want to run 8200 RPM i do have kits for that they are my race kits! we have people racing with our kits all over. Thank you Mike for this Review sir you did great i just wish we could get some in trail tests and off the road because on road really wont show much at all other then top speed.
I have been running your kit for last 300 miles and no issues at all not saying msc clutch is crap as never used it but I'm happy with what I got and I'm only one in UK with it at present
@@Rescuetech16 guess we will wait and see with the stage 3 won’t we. Ps. I don’t believe 155 belt temp. Even Blake’s video shows different temps. 155 is crazy low as for mine and the stock kit those numbers still don’t seem right but they aren’t bad. I think the stock was a little on the cold side. This is why a good temp gauge reading it while it’s driving and not stopped is the best way. But even 180 is a safe temp. Even 190. So let’s say the temps were true. All 3 are very well respectable.
Did anyone seriously think RN G would accept the results? During all his videos he mentions how honest he is and how much he gives to the community but he is questioning someone else’s test results. This was designed to give the consumer some basic info to help them find what’s best suited for them. Also it was our first video. Next would be rng agreed to the results as I gave them to him prior to posting. Also a few others have done the test as well and came to reasonably close numbers as well. Again me and rng have covered this in private talks and as well as a public video as well “that he hosted”.

I sure can't see how. His kit was the smoothest. It was also the fastest down low. An he keeps the engine in a safe operation range so what he lost 1mph he is 1000 RPM lower his kit seems to work less as hard to achieve the same goal. I purchase his kit tonight. You might want to do research on clutch tolerance. Even your stock weights probably won't always weigh the same. There is tolerances in everything. RNG for the winner sure on this one. Thanks RNG

@@tazmanken01 absolutely I’m happy to help
The MSC/Vhattu Varikko loses tension on the main spring yes I engages at 1850rpm but in less than 3months it engages around 2000rpm. Confronted vathue about this and he wouldn't fix this issue!!!! Not happy about this!
I’ll keep an eye out for it. But I’ve now put about 250 miles on it so far and mine is still engaging at 1850 pretty much every time. But I’ll definitely keep it in mind to monitor it
Any chance if you put a tuner will everything change for the worst or better on any of the kit
Michelle Crossroad
Very nice :)
Thank you jamon and I definitely appreciate you watching
I guess I'm confused, RNG says he was better down low, but wasnt the acceleration better from MSC? Seems pretty close either way.
His was smoother “slightly “ off the line but the msc kit came outta the hole harder.
The soft springs in the RNG will make it smoother at idle but softer springs means less belt tension , that increases the changes of belt slippage and in turn more heat. Also as you increase tire size the belt heat and slippage will just increase.
Mike double check but Ibthink RNG clutch kit was built for the None HO 950 witch operates at a lower RPM then the HO models like yours .
I have spoke to Rng and that’s the kit he recommended for the machine and the test. He just got off the phone after a 2.5 hour call to check everything was working properly. But thank you for the compliment😁
Perfect , sounds good. I gota reclutch my 950 now that I went 35" tires. Time to crank up that secondary lol
Lol I would but I wanna keep it fair to the agreement of running the tests. I like to keep it fair and just let the springs do the talking
👍👍
@@Rescuetech16 thank you for comment and thanks for your business
Sup Wildman. Hope to get out to MSC one day soon to pick up a 800. Would really like too go on some of those trails, when I do. Take care.
How about a price comparison between all of them?

@@thatdudebadI’m sorry to jump in on this but I am unpaid by both companies. Both will confirm this point as well. I have been in constant contact with both parties sharing results. I do take offense that you feel my test is being cheated/paid off. I did all the testing that I said to both parties I would do. I also believe both companies will stand behind me in confirming there is no money being exchanged and in fact I paid for both primary kits out of pocket.
From the comments this was i video of his opinion ....but it also let the MSC and RNG war on clutches and to see how much hate this will make .. this is my opinion not payed by anyone to comment on this .
(Im in australia btw)
To be honest my impact goes to 75 so that’s what I used tbh.
What bike are you doing the test with. I have a 2020 800xc would it compare to that machine.
We’re using a Z950 ho I would think the numbers for this one would be slightly faster but still follow the same trend. Also we’ll have the stage 3 testing posted today at 5pm. That’s where it gets really interesting.
How did you get that MSC washer out?
I used a small 90 degree pick and it popped out pretty easily
I see that MSC sells various gram weights. What is the upside or benefit of running various weighted weights. Such as 16G weights vs 22G weights? What would the gain or advantage be swapping weights?
Not big on what the various weights in the primary do or how they work. Meaning what their job is along the line of how the CVT clutches work?
I can’t say. I’ve been explained the lighter weights help it to engage easier and slightly faster but the heavier weights seem to give more mid range power. But it also depends on the spring weight if it’s setup to run that lightweight of a weight as well
@@mjmisadventures950 thanks!
what the number or spec. on those springs ?
Honestly I couldn’t answer that as both springs are proprietary spring rates so I’m unsure.
Can i found this parts in ebay or aliexpress?
Not that I’m aware of. I honestly would recommend you call them and speak directly with them to help you get the best possible kit.
Can you direct me or send me a WhatsApp number so I can communicate with them? I'm from Israel
Is it worth getting the stage one or just spend the extra and go stage 3
Honestly it depends on what tire size your running. I’d say a 30 inch tire is your tipping point of needing the stage 3 but it’s not truly necessary. But the advantages are worth it imo. The stage 3 gives you your top end back.
@@mjmisadventures950 hmmmm well I’m running the stock 29s that came with the 23 model. Might just leave it for now until these tyres kark it then I’ll see what I’ll do.
Nice I think I’d go up to 32’s imo to make the upgrade worth it “oddly some brands make the 32’s cheaper then the 30’s”. But check out msc they just did a video about tires and wheels today.
But you would see a performance gain for sure with the stage 3 kit but your just gonna loose some top end. What kinda riding do you do predominantly?
@@mjmisadventures950 trail riding mainly. Mostly Hard pack ground with hill climbs and some rock. I did see the video. Very useful info. I’ll be looking at the AT tyres when they are due.
Do both kits use the same spring part number? Or are they different?
Well MSC tells people publicly I sell their kits and all of a sudden they get me by 1MPH at 1,000 RPM more and they are genius 😂 idk anyone who wants to over rev their engine. There is a reason redline is 7,000
My Uforce 1000 stock clutch works fine .
I don’t want to fix something that’s not broken.
Absolutely nothing wrong with that. Happy riding bud.

Thanks for the great review
Absolutely I had a ton of fun doing the tests. Plus it was kinda fun to see what the differences were between them
Awesome review my friend.
now lets talk!

Great job red. Just purchased your full kit off your website thanks to this review. I want that smooth takeoff with safe power for my engine.
@@thatdudebad thank you 🙏 we appreciate your business. Yes sir.
How about everyone shut up and go for a ride!!!
I couldn’t agree more.
Did anyone seriously think RN G would accept the results? During all his videos he mentions how honest he is and how much he gives to the community but he is questioning someone else’s test results. His clutch weights were all different. Seems like he puts a package together and mails them out without caring if you are getting quality products.
@@ronaldgrimmig6659 exactly. They don’t know how this works. They just trying to find anything to make me look bad but its really not. It’s making them look like they need to research tolerances lol.
@@ronaldgrimmig6659 I’m still laughing about the 1000RPM 1MPH difference 😂 there should be like 8-10 MPH difference in a 1000RPM difference. If I would raise the RPM on my kit it would probably pass their 1MPH. But I don’t tune my kits for high RPM. Ps I’m not hating on this guys test results he rand them and did what he did. My only question is. Does folks actually want that 8200RPM up top just to gain 1MPH?
@@ronaldgrimmig6659 sure, we believe 78 mph
RNG is a goof. Just wait till the clown show starts when he starts commenting. This will be entertaining. The results will speak for themselves. Vauhti Varikko are professionals. RNG is a meatball in his garage.
@@BerkeleyMilitia 😂 😂 what results. They got me up top and that was it but they needed 1000 more RPM to do it lol 😂. Plus one thing Mike told me on the phone was he said mine would spin the tires on take off but theirs wouldn’t. Not sure why he didn’t mention that in the video. 😂. All I know is because of this video I had 4600$ day yesterday selling clutch kits witch is almost as much as I sold on Christmas. So at the end of the day people will be the own judge if they want smooth take off or 8200RPM. 🤷♂️
This was no help ...flat out doesnt show shit 1 mph difference but i can speak from experience RNG is smoother and better on trail and mud thru rpm range ...not payed to say this ..
Thanks for the comment. But I explained it about 100 times in the comments below why I didn’t show much video. This was designed to give the consumer some basic info to help them find what’s best suited for them. Also it was our first video. Next would be rng agreed to the results as I gave them to him prior to posting. Also a few others have done the test as well and came to reasonably close numbers as well. Also I don’t necessarily dislike rng his kit is smoother but you unfortunately pay for it in clutch heat and the loss on mid range. Again me and rng have covered this in private talks and as well as a public video as well “that he hosted”.
Rng pretty much got there ass kicked!!! Do not buy rng junk! The weights don't all weigh the same this will destroy your clutch! And higher belt Temps w rng junk! People buy your stuff from a reputable company like msc not from a redneck operating out of his shifty garage!
Thanks RNG
@@thatdudebad I agree. Just my thoughts tho. 1000RPM isn’t worth the risk.
@@thatdudebadI can see how you can make the assumption but of 5 test points he won one. I’m not knocking either kit but facts are facts as well. I have said it to both players and I believe each kit has its place in the market and for each rider. But thank you for commenting
I agree. He made a dozen comments as to how his kit is better and gave reasons why. But he forgot how much higher his belt temperatures were and how he threw his weights that didn’t have the same weighs into a box and sent them out. I’ll be purchasing all my products from MSC because they are honest.
@@jameskerns3520 none of them belt temps were even close to being high. All 3 temps were respectable. But those temps weren’t don’t with a 300$ Razerback they were done with a hand held temp gun after the machine was parked not running. I’m not even sure you could count the temps. Plus I’ve never personally ever seen a belt temp at 155 ever in my life. So the temp thing is definitely questionable.
