Wendell Carter Jr. I like his versatility and he can guard multiple positions plus keep defense honest enough. Him and Robinson would be a great tandem to give opponents different looks at the 5.
I would add Nick Richards/Hornets to that list...he's 26 years old, 7 feet, 245 lbs, and averaged 9.7 pts and 8 boards per game on 26 mpg. The best part is he's on the books for only $5 mil a year for the next 2 years.

The best thing about waiting til the trade deadline is we know what injuries we have more than halfway through the season. The best available player for our team has a different answer if Mitch is healthy vs. if Mitch is not healthy, and waiting til the deadline makes it much more likely we know the answer to that. Vs. making an educated guess for what player we most need before the season starts via free agency

The knicks should take a look at Bruno Caboclo. He could be a valuable asset coming off the bench. He is a rim protector, rebounds the ball well, shoots the ball well from 3, and with his wide 6'9" frame he could defend the 5 and slip into the 4 as part of a big lineup. The Knicks should be able to get him on a bargain.

Ivica Zubac would be the most Hartenstein-like, with his inside scoring and passing skills. Wendell Carter is the best option here overall in my opinion.

I fully agree as valentina's and zubac both great and would be awesome for us But us finally having the ability to be able to stretch the court, who even knows how ruthless Brunson will be having that... I feel something like that is what we need to beat the Celtics as the Celtics pretty much do that to everyone since the whole team bangs threes

I would pick Wendell Carter. His ability to shoot 3 point shots could spread the floor and make it easier for his teammates to drive to the basket without facing double teams. Also those players defending him couldn't rest. If Wendell Carter can defend & give assists, then I would say that the Knicks would be strong at all 5 positions. And since he's only 25, he can still get even better.

No matter how you spin it, I hart was a major reason for our success last year. We need to replace him with somebody with coinciding skills. High basketball IQ able to read the floor beautifully, Great passing ability, able to at least get that little push shot from 8 ft or less around the court... We can't just have one center grated blocking and rebounding that is zero offensive threat, Teams see this and instantly take advantage of it barely covering ( perfect example, Jericho Sims)

Valanciunas is money player bc he excels in playoffs. I am packaging McBride Dadiet Sims and Diop to a 3rd team. We do not need 4 pgs. We do need 3 centers. I can't trust Sims for any minutes on an elite rotation. We need 2 legimate size centers against sixers bucks and magic size team. With Valanciunas offensive game, we can afford to play achiuwa behind Randle. Should team play small ball, we play achiuwa at center. But adding Valanciunas gives us flexibility to make a deep run

I think valanciunas is a great fit. The bench can use some scoring versatility and if Robinson goes down, Jonas is 100% starter worthy.
