About to post on Facebook my official coming out post. Listening to this to calm my anxiousness.
Hope it went well! Rooting for you
Hope it went well, preparing to come out at work myself. Gonna wait til after the 29th at least.
Update: I've been out for like 2 or 3 weeks at work, my coworkers have been pretty awesome
@@readmarx420 maybe it's just that im older near 40. I don't understand this whole "everyone needs to know my buisness" mentality especially at work. I work construction and I can count on one hand the amount of people who has given me a hard time. I never made some weird date to come out as gay. The people who are/were closest to me and always knew so they would ask or I would let it slip in a conversation. It's 2022 stop acting like it's some big deal. Most people today either don't care or have nothing against your life style. Try being gay or trans in the 80s or 90s. You folks acting like it's so bad out there.
@@lazyfrogeyes5949 i was waiting till after the 29th because i was starting hormones. And i have to come out if i want people to use my preferred pronouns and name.
Nah being trans is still not that accepted. Trans acceptance has taken some big steps back in recent years. Like the ban in Alabama for one example. Trans women, like myself, are still murdered at a high rate, in fact In 2021 anti trans violence hit a record high. You're just wrong. I was a kid in the late 90s so i can't comment on how bad it was back back then, but we are most certainly not accepted today.
@@readmarx420 "the ban in alabama" It has no affect on an adult. It protects children from being given life altering medication that can cause them to become sterile in adulthood. We don't let children choose what they eat for dinner, why would we allow them to take medicine they give s** offenders to medically castrate them?
"trans women, like myself, are still murdered at a high rate" 41 (0.0025625% of the 1.6 mil total) transgender and gender non-conforming were reportedly killed in the USA in 2022. Out of those 41 only 1 resulted in the killer being charged with a hate motivated killing and 3 others are up for debate if it was based on hate or not. The rest were family, bf/gf/wife, friend, robbery, prostitution gone wrong, or no motive proven.
hrcDOTorg/resources/fatal-violence-against-the-transgender-and-gender-non-conforming-community-in-2022
sknightDOTsubstackDOTcom/p/a-report-claiming-32-transgender
Now compare that 0.0025625% to the 80% of trans people who have thought about suicide and tried committing suicide in 2022 and you'll see the real threat to trans people is themselves.
statistaDOTcom/statistics/1388565/us-trans-suicide-rate/
Inb4 trans people attempt suicide because they're not accepted by society -- we don't and have never seen numbers this high from the black community, gay community, or native American community which have all been (or some argue still are) not accepted or faced with oppression in society. In actuality if you look at the graph it says there has been an upward trend in both the considered and attempted suicide rate since 2000, when 61 percent of transgender people considered committing suicide and 28 percent had attempted it. There is absolutely no argument that trans people are more accepted now than in 2000 yet the rates have risen 20% and 12% respectively.
I'M NOT CRYING, YOU'RE CRYING.
Just kidding, I'm crying about how damn much this band and their music means to me.
same!!! they changed my life!
I am more than with you on that.

pretty deep voice for a lass
This song sounded wicked intense live, and I hadn't heard it before the show, and I fell instantly in love.
Saw them in 99 and just the other day at the Aggie. Laura, you kick ass my friend. Come back to FoCo soon.
They were awesome at the Aggie and I look forward to the day they come back to CO!
*I love this song* ~ For all the ghost that have haunted me, & for all those for whom are haunted by the memory of me.

Love the music! A lot of it helped me out getting through bring trans but ever since I started hrt I can listen to the music with a smile on my face instead of tears. Transgender Dysphoria Blues is my fav. Love you guys!
One of my top 10 favorite bands !! Greetings from South America
Against Me! are one of the few non metal bands I absolutely love!
This song is hitting even harder while I can't sleep after being stood up and ghosted on my third date
THIS IS GOING ON THE CRYPTID HUNTING PLAYLIST
Laura Jane Grace you are a big inspiration for me. As someone that presented as hyper masculine to the gorgeous woman you are now gives me so much hope for my future. I have been on hormones for about a year now and I hope that I will be as pretty as you are one day.
It's been 5 years, i bet you achieved your goal. Cheers girl!
@@killabarbie4209 thank you so much ❤️
7 years now I hope you’re doing awesome

@@TownieFormal Howd you do?
This is such an awesome song. Thank you Laura!
I love this song. One of the best from a medley of fucking great songs on the new album. I love it.

The best band live.
Cool
songs like this help me through my shit. it's tough living with transphobic, abusive parents. but hey, being angry is better than being sad and this helps. I'll be out of here soon anyways
Lol ok
@@beaniebooreviews8921 Miserable little shit, aren't you?
I’d suggest it’s tough living with a narcissistic attention seeking nutjob for a child 🤷🏽♂️
You guys were spectacular in Norfolk tonight
Anyone else getting massive Dead Milkmen "If I had a gun" vibes from this track?
This really should have had a warning for flashing lights😬
min musiklärare😊😊😊😊😊
VERY GOOD CONTENT
LIKE INCREDIBLY GOOD CONTENT
PLEASE MAKE MUSIC FOREVER
love this song and video but there should be a strobe warning
Come back!
fuck yeah
Title for the song-Stephen King’s IT? Derry the First Interlude page 364. Just a thought....
The intro sounds a bit like Rise Against's cover of Hollis Brown
who else is from green day on April 1st?
AAA
good song brothers
prozeiro player #maggot Just a friendly reminder they're not all dudes.
Finally, Against Me! returns to their original sound, and with a slightly more mature/evolved twist. That's a double plus. I'm glad to see this as an old Against Me! fan that's been one since their early years playing folk punk rock/indie songs in Florida (of course I've never seen them live, but Miami was pretty big being a South Floridian punk in the mid 2000's (2006-2008). I couldn't relate at all to what they've become since they've become more commercial. To fans like myself, it was a total sellout. I missed the good 'ol mug swingin', loud, fast, tiger roaring, skankin' classics.
sellout is a pretty useless idea.
Oh shit oh no, where'd you go against me!?
For an album that is so personal, and lyrics that showcase a transformation of LJG and the band... This video sure does suck. I feel like one of the band members little brothers is an illustrator just starting at school and this was their project? The album is amazing. this video. not so much.
Kevin Shaw I love these illustrated videos
Jay left this shit? Good for him 😂
I miss when they made good music. Cringey ass pop music
I think I liked Tommy before the sex change. His/Her voice was so gritty and perfect for this style of punk rock. Don't get me wrong though, new Against Me is wonderful, but it lacks some of the grittyness of the old.
Please use her chosen name, It’s Laura.
@@UmbrellaCorporationFiredMe How did Laura have a child with a female
@@shitdood i didn’t even know she had a child?
@@UmbrellaCorporationFiredMe Probably because he's a terrible father who has had 2 divorces.
He had a daughter with his second wife in 2009 named Evelyn.
@@shitdood I’m sure she’s an amazing mom who loves her kid. You don’t get to make assumptions about her relationship ship with her kid until they invite you over for dinner and you see it for yourself.
my two cents looked better as a dude...sorry folks. just sayin.
