I'm also transitioning from male to female. Life is rough, usually spent getting drunk, getting high and contemplating life, love and the universe (The Mountain Song is of course my favourite). I loved Against Me, but Listening to this album and also reading your book gives my life a completely different shot of Joy and Hope. Thanks kindly Laura. You're fucking awesome. X
I'm transitioning the other way myself. Had to stay in the closet about that until I moved away from my stepmother because of her tendency to use the cops to threaten whoever she's targeting with abuse. I had to cope with video games after chores.

I was having a bad day and just saw this and it's what I needed. Anytime she picks up the acoustic the songs just have such more meaning and honesty to them.

You would think 2 probations and multiple arrests and getting cancer and losing a job and most my friends would of been a wakeup call but it wasn't. 💁♂️ But hey you live and you learn! I had this crazy thought the album art had a hidden symbol in it, so i looked at it like you would do a "magic eye" picture and was a bit surprised by what i saw. I then counted the number of cigarette butts and almost fell out my chair! genius!
