Mario Kart is a series of go-kart-style racing video games developed and published by Nintendo as spin-offs from its trademark Super Mario series. The first in the series, Super Mario Kart, was launched in 1992 on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System to critical and commercial success.
There have been five Mario Kart games released for home consoles, three portable games, and three Namco co-developed arcade games, for a total of eleven. The latest title in the series, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, was released on Nintendo Switch in April 2017. The series has sold over 100 million copies worldwide to date.

I know another Mario Kart fangame: "Mario Kart PC" made by Wargor.
Qualities:
-You can make your own tracks
-You can make your own arena
-You can make your own cup by taking 4 tracks
-You can play it on both PC and phone devices
-There's all of the cups from "SMK" and "MK:SC!"
-You can unlock characters by finishing some cups
-You can upload your tracks/arenas/cups so that everybody can see it
Flaws:
-Some items can be broken
-Most of the community is french (like me) even if you can change the language of the site
-Most of the tracks are just, let's just say, troll levels (if you want to play some good tracks, I recommand you to check Link_Triforce_8's tracks)
-The AI can get stuck on a wall/obstacle sometimes
-Same thing for the player
-Some random glitches can appear
-There's a file size limit for circuits/arenas
I really like this game and if you want to use a Mario Kart track creator, you know where to go!
Even if I'm french, I'd like to see more english people.

Also, DS tracks are in the game, and it has an online mode, and its own forum

I remember this Mario Kart fan-/ flash game where the controls were WASD, one could select Pokey as a playable character and the SMB2 player select theme was its BGM. Sad that it's not featured in this video tho

11:39 Yep, that's probably the draw calls kicking in. Also, it is very likely dropping frames, but it doesn't use the delta time to speed itself up accordingly.
The ghost are transparent, so pixels have to be rendered twice or more. Transparent objects are always bad for the frame rate, that's why many games use dithering.
Random question, why is there a large space between "Games" and "Badman" in the title?

There SHOULD be a large space or other separator - it's weirder/more incorrect now that there isn't one

I like the HD graphics but I need to set ''Frame Skip : 1'' for 3x resolution or the game lags too much.

For Mario Kart: Speed Strife, I didn't have any trouble with the game. For the haunted levels, the game ran normally. I think it might be your computer being slow.

There was an engine on MFGG for Game Maker 7 that I assume they all use, because they all run the same.
