Merci Beaucoup! I so appreciate the insights and extensive research of Prof. Lock! Thank you so much for posting this. Integrating the knowledge of our biology, how we have changed the environment with our regionality can stem the tide of misunderstandings perpetuated by cultural and scientific bias.
Questions: Are there cultural differences in self-reporting? And do different generations of women self-report similarly ... or with the same degree of accuracy/honesty? Are the physiological experiences of menopause verified and then are they cross referenced with the self-reporting? Or is it first self-reporting and then the Doctors just legitimizing those reports? How do we account for being socially/psychologically susceptible to what are our cultures say we are "supposed" to feel at menopause or middle aged women or for other any developmental periods of our lives? Just wondering since I'm not a scientist and these questions popped up.
