Played 4 times, plus 300, 400 and 740, minus 250. Used what you said worked well. Thanks again. 2,2,5 game 800 cap. most people had at least 400, 4 or 5 800.
Prof Josh, the knowledge you share here is so intuitively in-depth that someone must have coached you some of these lessons. A player can play a lifetime at a table and miss a lot of the kind of information you are sharing bc we are ignorant and or arrogant at the table to the valuable information. Did someone coach you?
Howdy! The new camera angle is way better! I'm so glad to know the game doesn't really change in higher stakes & that players are still terrible save for the pros. Thanks!
I really liked the old angle tbh. It just felt more immersive and I really believed what you were saying when you moved in close to the camera and looked at it to speak. But I guess in general more people will prefer the straight view like this video.
Love your VLog Iooking forward to part 11...I was wondering if you could go over betting. I have a real good handle on my starting hands...but I am still learning how to bet when I have a hand. From starting hands to continuation bets. Can you go over the best hands to raise pre flop and why...I know you went over this alittle already but could you go more into detail in your future vlogs?
I have a “filler” episode for these questions that should be coming up soon! Ty for watching and yes I’ll go into 3 bet pre, 4 bet pre, and continuation bets soon!
Hey Professor, not sure if you’ve mentioned it in another video but how do you go about topping off? Do you ever top off when below your initial buy in or how do you go about it? Thanks!
Great question! Ty for watching and asking. I generally like to keep it easy for tracking…. So I’ll buy in for 500 or 1k…. And if I get down to 400 (say when I bought in for 1k) I’ll wait till I get felted or till I run it up. I do that mainly to keep track of what I’m in for.
Great Vlogs I really appreciate it. I would love to see vlogs on the hands you play bet sizing pre or if you just call depending on seat position. I live in west central Ohio Kevin Stammen from my area has a game in Cincy have you ever played with him? Also, I would love to see you play in Detroit what days do you usually play at MGM?
I’m Detroit I go with game / table selection. I’ll play 1/3/10 or 5/10/20 most of the time. Occasionally I’ll play the 10/25/50…. I have not yet played in Cincy…. I am planning on doing some live play sessions in august so you guys will be able to see my principles in play with position…. Type of game etc…. That should be coming mid-late august!
Would you consider 1/2/5 uncapped in Texas low or mid stakes? Seems whenever I play that game it goes 1/2/10/20. There is never not a $10 straddle on, frequently a $20, and not uncommon for it to go 1/2/10/20/40+ either. Nobody is buying in for less than $1000. The game is great but can be a little swingy because people are willing to pot/repot with a surprisingly wide range preflop and you'll find yourselves in spots where you have AAxx and just have to go with it knowing you're only a slight favorite. I usually cash out 2-5K up in this game but last session lost all three bullets and called it a night at minus $3K 😕
Sorry about the loss! Ty for the question. I think generally speaking is the smallest stack is 1k and it’s a 1/3/10/20 most of the time I’d consider that medium stakes.
Love the vids. I live I ireland and have 2 autistic kids and love plo. I play online in the evening and want to get better but can't get to casino ever to improve. What books could u recommend to improve or websites I suppose.
For online play specifically - Jnandez is a good reference (he's on youtube). He usually plays 3-4 tables at a time (so from time to time is hard to follow); but he specifically does all online play. Good guy to watch!
Hello again professor, got a question. How do you go about a board with trips and you’re holding aces or kings? How do you respond to checks around , bet, or bet raise?
Varies on a number of factors. Keep in mind if you have a "floater" you only theoretically have two outs....so you are only getting there 4% of the time on the turn, and 4% of the time on the river. I will "float" one bet if we are both deep enough.... That's a big IF. Also, depends on the pre-flop action...If I'm the 3 bettor / 4 bettor... and the board is paired with a small pairs (like 2-6) there's a good chance you are ahead in a heads up or even 3 way situation. If you are 8 ways.... Proceed with extreme caution; but again, can float to hit that two outer and get paid big!
PLO professor, can I get an opinion? :) 2-5-10 game I had AAT2 ds on button and raise to 45, 1 caller. Board 2 4 8 with 2 clubs, I have no club. Checked to me I bet pot 105, my thinking is it's a bad board and I want him to 'go away'. I get raised all in to 285 and end up folding after a think. Is that always a call/fold? I figured if he has clubs or a set I have low EV. He's not pure rec or pro, but someone quietish who's there to win. Obv he could have a lower overpair. Maybe I should have waited till turn to pot cos players are less willing to get in a draw with 1 card to come?
Ooo… tough spot. So let’s look at the equity and odds first of all. You bet 105 he raised to 285. So it’s 180 more to win 285+105+105… So 180 to win 495… if you assume he has a set of 8s…. You’re only out is an ace. If you assume he has a flush draw and a pair you’re still super behind…. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a Fold there…. Now if you had AA3T or AA5T I think you have to call regardless if he has a flush draw and a pair or top set….
@@ploprofessor Thx for the feedback. Looks like it wasn't a big mistake to fold. A 3 or 5 in my hand would give me more outs indeed. Keep the vids coming, looking fwd to some live session recap vlogs :)
I’ve played with some nosebleed players at the lower levels….. they do make mistakes (as we all do)…. But overall they understand the concepts and what people may have a little bit better.. The biggest difference that I’ve noticed playing with nosebleed players (when they step down) is they are certainly not afraid of putting in money.
No offense Prof, but ur wife is wrong 😂 The view is much better centered, because it gives the viewer the illusion of being in a classroom sitting front and center.

Your memory to recall hands and action of the past is quite remarkable.
