Wesley Cheung well as a comic book Artist he's gotta draw faster and with confidence Since they're usually on a schedule and usually on more than one project plus faster drawings brings more trial and error when drawing so you learn from it more.
I've always loved more cartoonish comic book artists but there's something about Jim Lee and his understanding of his own art and unique mindset that draws me to him
this generation is so lucky. they get to watch Jim-freakin-Lee draw whenever they want, and that's the norm for them. on top of that, he's not just drawing characters from whatever company he's working with, or book he's working on. it's the best time ever to be a fan. you're the only reason i bought an issue of Savage Dragon. god bless you, Jim Lee. you will always be my favorite artist and an inspiration with your style and influence on the industry.
The artist I mainly follow is yair sasson, a man with what I call a very strict art style. Even he's sketch faze is really direct and accurate. Its amazing to see a world renowned artist so free and fluid in his art style.
I've looked at 3 of these vids now and of course he worked his butt off to get this good but I've notice that he's very relaxed and doesn't find anything intimidating when it comes to drawings. You can tell his hands don't shake with hesitation or excitement. He just flows with the instrument. As if he's letting his hand speak for itself.
Jim makes the funniest faces when he draws . I bet when the camera is off he's like me and his face gets tired of making faces while drawing and falls asleep leaving HAPPY mistake line all over the board . LoL
JIM is so Amazing. Makes it look so easy. How many others have watched Jim's video thinking "wow this is easy, I can do it" then start doodling and 30 seconds later u realize that 1) it's not so Easy 2) I'll never be able to draw like Jim lol
This honestly gives me motivation to practice drawing carnage. Turns out you just need to learn to draw his base model and make a bunch of scribbles along the lines and he still ends up looking good
i don't know why exactly, but the fact that he started scribbling with the Micron pens and seemingly putting no effort into it it did two things to me. One, it made me cringe with the power of several stars, and two it made me pissed that he could scribble and still come out with something that would take me hours of steady and careful inking. I'm not sure why exactly, but when he closed his eyes it fucked me up and made me feel anxiousness for him like he was going to mess it up. Now i am fairly certain you could put a pen in his hand during an earthquake while several children are hanging on him and he would still make something ten times as beautiful and amazing as me. I really hope he furthers his career in art, because he most definitely has a knack for it.
Shotin FPSuser Yes I agree, but I find that a person should be able to compare themselves to the people who have more experience than them. It is personally what drives me to become a better artist, by comparing myself and my style and techniques to other people's so I may better myself and my talent, and see how i can further improve. Not only this, but I was mainly pointing out how me and him differ greatly, to even the point of confidence in what we do. But overall, yes I do understand that it may be foolish to compare myself to someone as amazing in art as him, but I feel it is a necessary part of my life so that I can be a better artist. He is, quite frankly, amazing.
he is half a sleep blind fom time to time massing arund with few pen at the same time and still comes up with smthing i would love to purchase...he is crazy Talented person, omg plz tell him somebody to not take this granted and i hope he will create his own characters and comics with such skills it is pity to waist them on reacreating others masterpieces...
In the 90's, the much respected Wizard Guide to Comics Magazine almost always ranked the same three people as top artists in the industry each month. The rank was almost always: 1 Spider-Man's Todd McFarlene 2 X-Men's Jim Lee (always my personal number 1) 3 X-Force's Rob Liefeld (creator of the villain Deadpool, yes, he was a villain) The art of these three Marvel artists made their titles so popular that in the 90's that the two most successful cartoons were always Spider-Man and X-Men. So popular that when it came to saving Marvel from Bankruptcy, Sony's obvious choice for movie rights were Spider-Man and X-Men. The three artist realized their talent was so respected that they wondered if they could start their own comics with original characters, and so in the 90's they founded Image Comics. The best known Image Comics title is now a show called The Walking Dead, with toys manufactured from McFarlene Toys (yes, that's the Spider-Man artist) While none of them created the later Walking Dead title, when they did create original characters, Rob Liefeld released his original characters with Image's 1st title, Youngblood. Todd McFarlene released his original characters with Image's 2nd title, Spawn. Jim Lee released his original characters with Image's 3rd title, Wild C.A.T.S. :)
recreateing is one of the mothers of skill, you cant become a good artist if you are not willing to draw someone elses work, but i will also say that originality is a good thing and is key if you want to create your own work yes that's true but the human body does not learn as well if it is not willing to learn from its contemporarys and feels guilt if it is not willing to ever say its inspirations. its just fun to draw that's all. but yes drawing your own work is not so hard if you just do it and practice but its being happy with it that is also key...no matter how it turns out.
Mister Jim Lee I REALLY! Admire your work!! My personal favorite of all your pieces of art is that one you did for the video game *[PROTOTYPE]* Protagonist *Alex Mercer* all the way back in 2009!! and Seeing you draw carnage(my fave Marvel Super Villain) makes me soooooooo grateful!!!! One of my dream matches back then was to see Alex Mercer vs Carnage... now that I more used to drawing I draw the lineart on paper... the thing is that Im struggling with the digital part and it will take a while
Please, please, please, please, PLEASE draw Spider-Man! I don't want to die before you make a mini-series or a run in the monthly book of the greatest hero ever.
You are so good at drawing everything I have seen that its as if your hand is hooked up to a printer and the image/character just appears nearly perfect EVERY time. Even your quick scribbles/outlines are better and more accurate than most other professionals drawings...
Haha like Jim Lee I myself didn't know where that was going to end up. Nevertheless the creation idealistically came out very bold and symbiote👍 Jim Lee is a true artist brings animation to life
Weiser Adler are u salty that u arent as good as he is he is super humble guy if he wanted to rub it in yourface he could have and u would have no power over that
Carnage is a strange character to interpret. Carnage is drawn different by most artist who draw him. Some people just draw him all red with spikes. Others black and red. Another looks is chrome red. My second favorite is him looking like someone who has been skinned, but with black blood. My favorite looks is the way Steve Wang sculpted him. His body is all red, but the teeth, spikes, and tendrils are all black goo that oozes out of him. www.sideshowtoy.com/mas_assets/jpg/400038_press01-001.jpg
Whats the name of the first pen pls? ^^
I've got this cool FAQ with everything Jim and several other artists use. Check it out... vzaage.blogspot.com/2014/04/whatpen.html

This isnt even a sketch this is something I'd hang on my wall.
"Lets see how much i can do with my eyes closed"
Jim is gonna be such a sweet old man in the future
It just blows my mind how fast this guy sketches out his work. He is a demon with a pencil and pen!
And a bottle of ink
I've always loved more cartoonish comic book artists but there's something about Jim Lee and his understanding of his own art and unique mindset that draws me to him

Hi Paul, I'm not Jim... I'm just a guy who edits these videos.
Best way to get in touch with Jim to let him know you feel is over at discord.gg/jimlee
The moment you realize Jim Lee can draw better with 3 pens scribbling than most artists with one pen and focusing.
jim lee ultra instinct
joaquin rivero look at his left hand, he is telling you how sexy the drawing is
he is like: I am a sleep, but let's draw Carnage real quick
The artist I mainly follow is yair sasson, a man with what I call a very strict art style. Even he's sketch faze is really direct and accurate. Its amazing to see a world renowned artist so free and fluid in his art style.

Thanks! Looks awesome.
AlphaProto thank you.
I love how it looks like a total mess at first and just transforms into something beautiful
If I could be half as good at anything as this guy is at drawing my life wouldn't be in shambles.
How does he scribble a prefect drawing.
He does this in about 10 mins omfg, that is something to aim for
Never knew Carnage with teeth could look so cool.
Jim Lee draws like I did in High School- good for him
Jim's early stages of a drawing are what my final stages look like if I try hard. I have fun though lol
Imagine Bob Ross narrating this drawing
Wish I had a talent... this is great.
was i the only one smiling increasingly as the masterpiece came to life!? its incredible
he did it amazing
my favourite simbiote
That is incredible you draw so fast it doesn’t have to be a Hyper Speed!
ONE OF THE GOATS.....SALUTE!!!!
I wonder if he ever does something like this, stops and looks at it and goes "Ya thats pretty good"
You sir had just gotten another subscriber
Him: *Draws a bunch of bullshit, looks fucking good*
Me: *Draws a line- wait fuck, I messed up*
He draws like a boss
HOW DA FUQ DO YOU DRAW LIKE A MAD MAN AND GET SOME CRAZY BEAUTIFUL THING AND YOUR SLIKE SLEEPING IN THE VIDEO MAN PROPS TO YOU , YOU ARE A LEGEND
He just squiggles and Carnage comes out. I did that and my paper just up and left...
He speed sketched the hell out of that no time lapse or erasing needed
When you play around at work and still the best employee they have.
Love you’re drawing ✍️
he is probably the only person who can draw anything less than a hour
Draws without looking, creates a masterpiece. I draw without looking away and create a stick figure.
Man he sketches with pencil like 5 year old But when he uses pen is god
Awesome job
Dear Jim lee I'm a big fan of you and work is there a you show how you draw from a birds eye view or small characters
He drawing is so dirty but at the same time is faster and so cool :O
This dudes pen never runs out of ink
Boss level!!
smh...just showing off. drawing with three pens like it's nothing!!
U only need one pen to draw that 🤗 i mean its ure prob
Let's see you try to do this then.
You're so good, congratulations from Argentina
You are so good at drawing everything I have seen that its as if your hand is hooked up to a printer and the image/character just appears nearly perfect EVERY time. Even your quick scribbles/outlines are better and more accurate than most other professionals drawings...
