Me and my son went through about a year long fight where we didnt talk to each other and he sent me this song while I was at work and I broke down crying and got sent home but on the way home it played in my Pandora and I knew what I had to do I went to see my son and when I got the there he came running out of his front door and gave me a hug and we stood there crying for 10 minutes and I just want to thank Chester for what he did for my life may he rest in the peace his lyrics brought to people like me.

Mike's voice is so comforting somehow in this song. I don't wanna compare it to anyone's vocal skill but all i can say is that his singing voice just give me chills. I love this feeling

Sckorge that's why I love them. They're doing what they want and they're doing something really different. Linkin park is "growing up" and changing alongside me. When I needed that edgy and rebellious sound, they were there. But now that I've grow out of that phase and have a different taste of music, they've adapted and I still enjoy them.
I was abused foe most of my life I am now 27 and have dealt with clinical depression, high anxiety and ptsd for the last 12 years and I am still fighting there are days I just want to give up. Chester lyrics have saved my life time and time again. I'm bawling while listening to this song it's hitting me hard

It’s weirdly comforting to know that this song is comparatively not ‘big’ . This song is a masterpiece and and the fact that only some people come back here is really good. It makes this space as a sort of members only thing.
God damn it the brilliance is real. If you think about it, this is a companion piece to "Numb" From Meteora. "Numb" is from son to father, "Invisible" from father to son. Although stylistically different, the band is still very much the same.
Remember when everyone hated this album? Instead of being inspired by the artists growing they hated on the album and compared it to hybrid theory and meteora. But all of the sudden Chester passes, bless his soul, and now everyone loves it.
When the album first came out, a friend of mine put it quite well, “It’s like when you’re in the mood for pizza, but someone gives you a big, juicy cheeseburger. And the cheeseburger is delicious and all, but you were wanting pizza.” Basically it got hated on not because it was bad, but because it was so different from what was expected.
The sadest part is I loved the album before he passed. But then after he passed I seen the messages hidden in the songs. This album will forever remain in my top faves.

Mike P same here. They were no longer early 20 something...but 40 something husband/fathers....they cannot sing about adolescent angst all the time. It shows growth/maturity of their sound

People think for some reason being a true fan you have to love everything they do and that's blind loyalty. As someone who never got to feel the love of healthy parents, I hear this and cry and feel loved somehow so thank you Linkin Park for making this, you guys may not realise this but you had a huge role in raising me to be the person I am today, so thank you.
I´m a fan of Linkin Park since 1999 and really had my thoughts about "One more Light" at the beginning. But now as I´m a 35 year old married man who struggles a lot with Depression sometimes I really admire this album more and more. It became my favourite one over the last 3 years. It´s really haunting and yet so inspiring...as if Chester knew this was his last work, what you can really hear and see in "Heavy" and "One more Light". I will NEVER get tired of this Band
I was astounded listening to this version of Mike's voice as opposed to his energy pumping rap bits he always did in other LP songs ! Such a warm song.
For those who don't know, this song was written by Mike to his children. Keep this in mind when listening to the song and you'll actually appreciate it a lot more for how personal the lyrics are.

I'm 34, LP was big part of my teenage/adulthood life. I lost a part of my life, we all did, the world lost a legend. I did not cry, but I'd be lying if I said his death didn't mean anything to me. Yes, he was dropping clues about his depression but like everything in this world - there is a cause for depression. I'm going to find out what made him depressed, I do not believe he committed suicide. RIP Chester! You're the light I needed in my life.

I really don't know why I think of autism. Actually the song was written about the difficulties with teenagers. But after hearing the song for the first time, my only thought was about autism. I remembered my childhood. Which still affects me to this day. The world may still be a strange planet. With identical faces, but you can always find individual familiar faces. So always take the next step.

I love that Mike wrote this for his kids for when they are teenagers and was the main vocal on it. Im also really glad that Chester pushed Mike out of his comfort zone to sing more so he could do both 💜 Mike said in a interview for this album that he loved being able to sing 7 days a week next to Chester who was the best vocal coach in the world lol.

I remembered around 2 years ago, back when im bullied because i was a quiet kid. I used to cope by listening to linkin park, funny enough when i lost almost everything, my friends, girlfriend ditched me too. This song and hybrid theory saved me. I know my grammar is not right because english is not my first language ( sorry about that ). I just want to say, thank you chester for giving me hope. Currently im more happier than my past. Moved out from my old highschool, i restored my reputation, also crushed my depression. To all of you reading my comment, dont give in to your thoughts. 4 years later I still come back to this song or have it on a Spotify playlist, this just showcases the true talent Mike has, not only in rapping like he does in most other songs but just taking the lead from the front and really putting full emotion behind the lyrics, honestly this song is so underated!
He’s always been the song writer on ALL LP songs, LP is his band and they brought in Chester for vocals only because they wanted elite singing. Then they collaborate on lyrics with Chester but every melody and note is written by Mike
Its funny how people say this could be a song from any generic pop group and shit. The quality of these lyrics and how they melt them with the song is not something you normally see in other groups. I feel this is a great album and will grow better on me with time.
Honestly, this is going to be a great record. I don't want to hear 40y olds singing about running away or to shut up when they're talking. This song right here is what is good about one more light. Singing about personal feelings - feelings that many "grown ups" have. If you are a fan from the beginning, you are at least in your late 20s, early 30s - so this Stuff matters. I'm really excited to hear the new record. I've grown with every record and i am happy that the music followed this life-developement.
Minutes to Midnight is by far my favourite album from LP. I really Enjoy Hybrid Theory and Meteora but i think if they would have done MTM in that same style - they would have exhausted that sound. I love the "mature" approch on Minutes to Midnight. One more light (with what we heard so far) is amazing and i love how they did the lyrics first. Invisible is such a strong song if you get the message.

I agree, I Feel this album is the most mature in terms of their lyrics, but I also feel that the album suffered the shadow of the tragedy that left Chester's death, so I think that some true LP fans find this album hard to hear (still great though).
Mike really shines here, and he has an amazing voice. I know it's hard without Chester, a band mate and a friend. Someone who let us hear the emotions lying deep inside the songs. Though, Linkin Park wasn't just him. It's a band of amazingly talented people and there is no need to be shy about that. Maybe one day, they will make one or two new songs, as the guys and fantastic band they still are: Linkin Park.

Sckorge that's why I love them. They're doing what they want and they're doing something really different. Linkin park is "growing up" and changing alongside me. When I needed that edgy and rebellious sound, they were there. But now that I've grow out of that phase and have a different taste of music, they've adapted and I still enjoy them.

I´m a fan of Linkin Park since 1999 and really had my thoughts about "One more Light" at the beginning. But now as I´m a 35 year old married man who struggles a lot with Depression sometimes I really admire this album more and more. It became my favourite one over the last 3 years. It´s really haunting and yet so inspiring...as if Chester knew this was his last work, what you can really hear and see in "Heavy" and "One more Light". I will NEVER get tired of this Band
I was astounded listening to this version of Mike's voice as opposed to his energy pumping rap bits he always did in other LP songs ! Such a warm song.
For those who don't know, this song was written by Mike to his children.
Keep this in mind when listening to the song and you'll actually appreciate it a lot more for how personal the lyrics are.

I'm 34, LP was big part of my teenage/adulthood life. I lost a part of my life, we all did, the world lost a legend. I did not cry, but I'd be lying if I said his death didn't mean anything to me. Yes, he was dropping clues about his depression but like everything in this world - there is a cause for depression. I'm going to find out what made him depressed, I do not believe he committed suicide. RIP Chester! You're the light I needed in my life.

Im also really glad that Chester pushed Mike out of his comfort zone to sing more so he could do both 💜 Mike said in a interview for this album that he loved being able to sing 7 days a week next to Chester who was the best vocal coach in the world lol.

4 years later I still come back to this song or have it on a Spotify playlist, this just showcases the true talent Mike has, not only in rapping like he does in most other songs but just taking the lead from the front and really putting full emotion behind the lyrics, honestly this song is so underated!
He’s always been the song writer on ALL LP songs, LP is his band and they brought in Chester for vocals only because they wanted elite singing. Then they collaborate on lyrics with Chester but every melody and note is written by Mike
Its funny how people say this could be a song from any generic pop group and shit. The quality of these lyrics and how they melt them with the song is not something you normally see in other groups. I feel this is a great album and will grow better on me with time.

Honestly, this is going to be a great record. I don't want to hear 40y olds singing about running away or to shut up when they're talking. This song right here is what is good about one more light. Singing about personal feelings - feelings that many "grown ups" have. If you are a fan from the beginning, you are at least in your late 20s, early 30s - so this Stuff matters.
I'm really excited to hear the new record. I've grown with every record and i am happy that the music followed this life-developement.
Im 19 so i grew up more on the side of minutes to midnight but this music still speaks volumes. Some people are just stuck saying "its no a phase mom"
Minutes to Midnight is by far my favourite album from LP. I really Enjoy Hybrid Theory and Meteora but i think if they would have done MTM in that same style - they would have exhausted that sound. I love the "mature" approch on Minutes to Midnight. One more light (with what we heard so far) is amazing and i love how they did the lyrics first. Invisible is such a strong song if you get the message.
