  • Plantar Fasciitis is a common condition among Veterans and is rated by VA on a scale of 10 to 40%. Veterans with plantar fasciitis receive higher VA ratings if the condition affects both feet (bilateral) and is considered not responsive to treatment. Veterans can also be eligible for secondary service connection for plantar fasciitis, often associated with pes planus (flat feet).
VA changed the rating criteria for this condition in early 2021, adding a diagnostic code specifically for plantar fasciitis. Tune in for a breakdown of VA ratings for plantar fasciitis in under 5 minutes!

Im diagnosed with ples planus how did you get 50% ? Was it just saying you have pain or do they do some other test ?

I currently have 10% for left foot and 10% for right foot starting 2004 when I got out, can they reduce my overrating if they take away 10% for both and then only give me 10% for both together. ? I would think that would decrease my overall rating down.

Do you have to have surgery to get 20% bilateral?

I got awarded 10% for bilateral plantar fasciitis on 11/17/2023 based on No relief from non-surgical treatment for left and right foot. Since o am not responsive to treatment does that rate me at 30%?

I have filed for this twice and keep getting denied. I actually had to retire early because of this. Any idea what I could be putting wrong on my claim? Please help.
