I have had heel pain for 8 months now . I’ve been to a podiatrist who ordered expensive orthotics for me and I’ve been going to physical therapy for 2 months. Nothing is working.
I watched your plantar fasciitis video on RUclips 4 days ago. I’ve done the stretches a couple of times a day since then.
Today I am in no pain for the first time in 8 months! All of the “solutions” that are mentioned in the video (ball on bottom of
foot, KT tape, etc) have been used on me or suggested to me. None have worked. Only the stretches from your video have made even a little dent and it seems that they will be making a long term difference!
    Thank you!

Holy smoke! Those stretches worked, did them last night before bed and got up this morning and pain is 99% gone! This pain had been going on for over a month. My job entails lots of walking, lifting and carrying heavy stuff, I could barely walk Friday it hurt so bad yet your simple stretches fixed it immediately. All those other RUclips fixes made it worse, thank you!

I started to get PF about 8 months ago. Went to physio and was told that my hamstrings were the problem. Did all the exercises recommended but only limited relief. When I came across your video, I though the exercises were too short and simple to be effective, but I did them every day and wore good shoes (no barefeet!) and ate correctly. After about 3 months I started to get relief and things got better from there. So to anyone thinking of doing these exercises make sure that you stick with it. It works but it does take time.

If you're a dance teacher, your muscles and tendons are probably already stretched. I am pretty flexible too, but still got plantar fasciitis, why? Look at a diagram of the nerves in the bottom of the foot, they all converge at the spot near the heel by the arch. Someone made a comment here on youtube, about the big toe being pushed too far inward from shoes that push them in. Make sure your big toe isn't being forced too far towards the 2nd toe, mine is. I'm wearing the socks with toes in them 24 hours a day, and wearing wide shoes.

Finally videos that address the real cause of this. Put simply its load vs capacity. If your load exceeds the capacity then you develop problems. Best way to resolve this, stretch, do calf raises, and walk. Start at a point where you dont upset it too much and then gradually increase. Start with two footed calf raises and progress to single foot. Do as many reps as you are able to handle as your starting point. Work your way up.

Thank you very much for this video. After a year of daily pain, these exercises have solved the problem. I had no idea that a knee strain would have caused this, but on the first stretch, I could tell a difference, from the feeling in the upper calf. It took a few days to be able to complete the stretches, but it gradually became easier, and within a few days I started to notice a real difference. It's been two months now, and all the pain has gone. I have now subscribed to your channel as a thankyou. D.

I'm glad someone addressed that the common "fixes" for PF (ice, stretching, meds) don't work. The only thing I'd add is that taping absolutely does work to alleviate acute pain, though not taping with KT. You need athletic tape and the tape pattern will basically mimic the layout of the plantar fascia on the bottom of the foot. There are lots of videos on you tube. I had very long term PF for years, and finally ended up getting orthotics. My podiatrist told me "you'll wear these for the rest of your life" which I knew was wrong. The taping however was immensely helpful, and the orthotics helped cool down years of inflammation. Eventually I switched to wider shoes and minimalist for daily wear (not for running). I haven't had any pain in years and I no longer wear orthotics, even after I took up distance running.

Good video! Just want to suggest that when stretching gastrocnemius, you can isolate each head by adding rotation to both sides- swing your front leg across and rotate your body first one way and hold, and then the other way. A lot of PF is caused by tight calves pulling on the calcaneus. Also, heat is great to use on the foot as it helps to bring blood flow to the poorly vascularized tissue.

@@ZacheryH1993 When you do a calf stretch to one leg, you simply add a rotation of your body, bringing your free leg across in front of you, and hold, and then rotate the other way out away to the side of your body and hold. So if you're stretching your left calf, at the end of the stretch bring your right leg across in front and hold- you should feel one side of your calf (gastrocnemius) muscle being stretched more, and then take your right leg out to the right side. Look on Athlean-X's RUclips channel for his plantar fascia advice- he demonstrates the stretch.

Like your video best and it makes the most sense then all the others I RUclipsd. I am 82 and got this pf in my left foot about 3 weeks ago, first time in my life. Live a very healthy life style, do pet sitting and walk. Love to walk barefoot whenever I can and, I guess, that might be for now, not a good idea. Thanks for posting this video.

I think it's good to try different things. I've been dealing with extreme pf for a few months. I walk 20k+ steps a day at work and it was getting worse. Going barefoot, stretching my entire body and doing deep tissue massage has taken my pain away.

Yep, new shows caused my plantar fasciitis. Hoka shoes. It started with calf tightness. Went to Kura, which significantlly helped. He says taping does not work - WRONG! Once I started taping, the plantar fascia is supported giving relief so I could actually start walking without pain. Yes - stretch too.

I was diagnosed with chronic pain in both my heels after an injury (falling from height).
The pain was so bad, it felt like my feet were on fire, worn-out and throbbing.
By chance i found out the podiatrist has a pulse wave machine.
I go there every 6 weeks and get this pulse therapy on the inside of my heels.
I dont get the servere burning feeling anymore. After the treatment my heels feel great..but shortly after an itchyness comes back and some discomfort.

I think he is right. So many RUclipsrs give advice to heal PF that actually harms it. The facia is injured. Why would you stretch injured facia? You do those stretches to PREVENT PF.
I'm sure his upstream exercises are good but what is specifically needed for the facia is rest. Long rest. Unfortunately, most people need to be active (they work for a living). I have PF right now, and it is slooooooowly getting better. But I'm retired.
I recommend a night boot and crutches during the day while wearing a dayboot (imobilizing). I did not do the crutches and day boot and I regret it. Next time, im pulling out all the stops.
It sucks but the damn thing doesn't heal quickly.

Im on my way to heal my PF. Its been maybe 8 months already and its the second time it surfaces.
I go out dancing a lot and that hurts my fascia after around 45min, 1 hour dancing. And I go out dancing at least once a week, this definitely is slowing my healing down.
I have tried a lot of things and done a lot of research. One thing that you didnt mention is how to step properly. Some people may do it in a way that may not be the best and may need advice (such as myself). Another thing that I feel that is helping me *a lot*, but is not mentioned here, is self massage. It took me a while to do it properly but It has helped me a lot in the last week.

My PF and Achilles tendinopathy started 8 months ago when I went hiking on mountains in Ireland. It’s been and still is excruciating and I’m fed up of waddling like a drunken duck! The pain has spread to my knees now. I have another hospital appointment soon as I suspect I have heel spurs but I’m going to try these exercises as nothing else has helped. I had the steroid injection, which was v painful, and it wore off within three weeks so I don’t advise that.

Had PF for year now, but only in my left foot. My change was daily walking (per doctor orders) about 1-1/2 mile, basically 6 times around the block. My change was walking 6 days a week, born with flat feet and wearing cheap walking shoes. I noticed when I would stand on a cushy rubber mat, I would not feel any pain. So I bought some expensive cushy Nike walking shoes with some PF doctor Scholl insert. This helped alot, but I still have a little pain. I'm going to try your stretching method and see if my foot improves more. Thanks for the information.

I know exactly when mine started. It was after an eight mile hike when somebody suggested I lengthen my stride. That was five months ago. I’ve gotten the shots and the expensive orthotics. None of that has helped much.
My husband wants me to have surgery. I’m really resistant to that idea, but I’m retiring in about a month and we have a lot of hiking trips planned.
I’ve been stretching but probably putting too much pressure on the PF. I’ll switch to just stretching the soleus and gastrocs.
It seems a little too simple but sometimes simple is what really works.

This is such a helpful video. My PF started after wearing vivo barefoot shoes for 3 months. The strange thing is that a lot of so called experts on RUclips are recommending people to wear barefoot shoes to help reduce the pain from PF. You are the only person who made complete sense to me. It is sad that a lot of physiotherapists and fitness experts on RUclips provide wrong information for personal benefits from these barefoot shoe brands. Thank you so much for the video. I never comment on RUclips videos but this one is probably the only video which states the truth as it is.

Hi Lucas, I went to see a podiatrist for the pain in my heels and he recommended shoe inserts which I got. I also had a procedure done that he described as “a mini jackhammer” which was to break up the scar tissue. That did seem to help but now I have a diffuse pain all over the bottom of my feet. Do you think that is still plantar’s fasciitis?
While I’m here, I just want to tell you that I your Happy Back Challenge helped me so much. I’d been in pain for months, and after Day 3 I felt relief! I now do a session every second day and my back is happy indeed!

    • @YOGABODY.Official
      @YOGABODY.Official  5 месяцев назад

Your diffuse pain could still be linked to plantar fasciitis or the procedure. Give it some time and consult your podiatrist if it continues. Glad the Happy Back Challenge helped! Keep up the good work.
