Yes and I think it adds to the whole “with great power comes great responsibility”not only does Peter have Spider powers but the Symbiote amplified it all!!! The power starts to take i him over and make him do things without restraint. He fails to realize his actions that hurt people that he’s responsible for. It makes him more complex that he isn’t so perfect and pure all the time although he tries to be
"Kirsten Dunst agreed to do the third film with the condition that Mary Jane did not serve as a damsel in distress in the third act. This was agreed upon by executives and Sam Raimi; originally the climax involved Eddie Brock kidnapping Gwen Stacy and holding her hostage, as he was sure that Peter was in love with Gwen. Mary Jane still played a big part in the climax with her most notable cut scene: Mary Jane went to Harry and made a passionate speech about forgiveness, prompting him to go and help Peter. This scene was filmed, and some of the dialogue can be heard in the trailers (”We’ve all done terrible things to each other, but we have to forgive each other. Or everything we ever were will mean nothing.”
I don’t know why a lot of people don’t like the finger guns scene; it was meant to be cringe and make us feel awkward lol. Peter didn’t ‘become cool’, he became what a nerdy awkward guy thinks ‘being cool’ is, which gave us that scene of cinema magic haha.

Now I'll admit I do like this movie, but HATED all the studio interference. I mean, if Sam raimi was willing to venom, he would've pulled out his evil dead insanity and made him more frightening and intimidating. We all know he can
Trevor Philips I mean green goblin killed by far the most people, doc caused a ton of destruction, and venom didn’t kill anyone and caused nowhere near the damage. Venom and carnage are my favorite spider man villains but venom was poor in this movie. He didn’t do much of anything And I know venom is kinda an anti-hero, but In this version he’s definitely a villain
I love the Raimi trilogy but it’s painful to say that Venom is the weakest of all the villains in the series. They did him so wrong. At least he has his own movie now.
I think "domestic abuse" is a strong word given Peter didn't actually see that it was MJ who was grabbing him, but maybe that was what Raimi was intending.
I was a toddler when I first saw this. Loved this film and remember it. I used to even have a spider man costume that could be turned inside out to reveal the symbiote version. As soon as Peter was infected I used to immediately turn my costume inside out. When he switched to the later version I used to turn it back to red. Wow I was stupid.
Considering Sam Rami knew nothing about venom and only gave in to studio interference I liked the look they gave him people don’t give the symbiote effects enough credit it looks so good I could be practical
I don’t disrespect your opinion, but Venom’s face and appearance is universally hated by many, and for a good reason too. It’s rushed, looks nothing like Venom, and most importantly, Topher Grace did not do the role justice, at least, when he actually was Venom.
I love this video. I understand that critically it was panned but this movie was part of my childhood and I loved it. It always hurts to see it get bashed.
This should've been two movies. One with Harry and Sandman, and another, just with Venom. The good stuff about the characters are there, but craming it all in one film ruined it.
Sandman was the one who should have been removed from the movie. Having Venom and Harry Goblin gave us a chance to see both friends descend to their lowest points and then rise back up to help each other. It was a great way to end the trilogy. Sandman, on the other hand, while *looking* great, had a terrible storyline. He was the man who "really" killed Uncle Ben? Really? That was the big stumbling block for me with this film; that and Harry's "amnesia". If they had left Sandman out, then they could have had a real story about the New Goblin and Venom Peter fighting each other around the city, Eddie Brock could have risen to prominence by getting the pictures of it, and the third act could have been Peter trying to redeem himself, both as himself and as Spider-Man, while Venom Eddie becomes a true menace that Peter and Harry have to team up to stop.
Wow I’ve literally never heard anybody make this point in the fucking 10 years since this movie came out… Tell us more about how this movie should’ve been two movies and had too much crammed into it cuz it’s such a fresh take.
Wow, I've literally never heard anyone swear on the Internet. It really adds emphasis to what you're saying. Seriously, maybe you should add a few more in there so we know you *really* mean it.
Crap statement, if venom wasn't in this movie, the whole movie would be different, wouldn't be more emotional than this one, if venom in next movie, that'll be too much, is hard to build same or more feelings without putting sandman and venom together. It wasn't Sam Raimi or Sony or Marvel or movie itself's fault. I think that was audience and Marvel fan boy. The whole movie was great, just people don't understand what was Sam Raimi trying to tell. Spider-man is like a lesson, live with your life, unlike MCU, trying too much to satisfy comic fans, which makes it more like a popcorn film instead as good as Batman and this one did;however, Captain America(1,2) & Iron man (1) was pretty good, rest of them? LMAO, OK but not good.
I liked the movie a lot, it was only when Eddie became Venom that the whole thing was just lost for me. The dancing scene makes me cringe and laugh so hard, but it makes sense... Still I think you can really tell Raimi did not want to do Venom ^^;
According to Raimi they were originally going to do Vulture, but couldn't come up with a good way to make his suit. It was then that either he or Sony suggested they do the symbiote stuff
Raimi intended to have Sandman and Harry as the villains for Spider-Man 3. He was going to have Vulture show up at the beginning and the end to set up for Spider-Man 4. But then he was forced by Avi Arad and Sony to shoehorn Venom in the movie instead. He was never a fan of the character and didn't understand him and you could tell by just watching the movie.
The snf strut scene is the single greatest scene in all of cinema. It’s actually the second coming of Christ and I cry every time at how fricking beautiful it is.
I don’t care what people are saying. This movie is amazing! Not as good as the first two but freaking amazing. Best trilogy ever in my opinion so many memories ^^
This trilogy perfectly captures Peter's life. The third one the most. Many people don't like this movie because it has too many villians but that perfectly captures the struggles in Peter's life and how he has to handle all of his troubles
Domestic abuse is a bit pandering. Peter didn't turn around, and knowingly slap MJ, he thought it was another of the many bouncers attacking him. Also in the hows the pie scene it should have been icecream, and the question being, hows your icecream, Harry with his sinister grin responding... Soooo cold. You know because revenge is best served... whatever I'm giggling.
I see what you mean, but at the same time, it's kind of like how Peter kind of step back and realizes what has become. No longer being able to discern what's friend or foe. He's become a fire out of control; burning bridges.
It also showed how the symbiote reacts to anger which is why The MCU refuses to release Carnage on film because he's too violent. To me Spiderman 3 gave me a list of reasons to dislike Spiderman homecoming even though Tom Holland nails the role of comic Spiderman.
@@jasonking7570 Spiderman 3 and all of the previous Tobey McGuire spiderman films were more serious as well as giving a better direct message in each movie. Spider-Man homecoming wasn't a marvel Spiderman movie. It was a Disney MCU Spiderman film plus the movie's main character was centered around spiderman but it was a Tony Stark Iron Man movie. The movie mostly got good ratings because of Stark as a mentor to Peter.
@@christianhenry4173 okay... I dont get the complaint that Homecoming was an "Iron Man movie" just because Iron Man/Tony Stark was in it. I mean yes, he mentors Peter a bit, but hes barely in the movie. Could his cameo have contributed to a boost in sales? Probably. But I really dont see why this is a fault. The "Disney MCU" statement I personally disagree with, but that might just be personal preference
Well, I do too. I just wish they could have kept at maybe two villains, that way the overall story could have been significantly improved. Not saying it’s the worst film, it just could have been improved.
I love the first action scene between pete and harry as its the start of the film, we know pete isnt going to die, but instead the focus is on the ring which i think i genius
"Get Edison on the phone" isn't exactly referring to Thomas Edison. ConEd (Consolidated Edison) is the primary supplier of electricity for New York City.
Whenever I watch Spider-Man 3 I focus heavily on the motifs of choosing forgiveness over vengeance. I’m not afraid to admit that when thinking of these characters story arch’s makes me cry at the end.
9:17 Yeah, throughout this film, Brock ALWAYS misunderstood Peter. Especially the whole "never getting a picture of Spider-Man putting his hand in a jar of cookies" incident.
Gotta give more props to the opening fight scene with Harry. We know that Perer isn’t going to die, but there is still much tension because of the ring. The stakes are actually high because they’re personal, a small thing that holds a lot of meaning to the character
"I refuse to believe this is the last time that JK Simmons is up to bat as JJ" The entire audience watching this video after endgame and far from home: well you're about two years too early
I actually don't understand why people think the dancing sucks... it was supposed to be for laughs... He got the Symbiote... He... turned into a douche and someone who thinks he's cool, or not care, just have fun... You really think someone would put this in the movie without thinking about it??? There was a very good reason for it. I don't understand it. Usually I don't get this bad. Or hate on other people, but this SERIOUSLY bugs me as to how naive people are. AND! I think the only problem with Venom in this movie is the short time the character himself got... And the design... Otherwise. I don't feel like the Symbiote was forced in, I think Venom was barely forced in, just felt disappointed because he got a little less screen time. If he had just gotten a little bit more screen time I woulda been pretty okay with it. The design was just different. Which doesn't just make it bad. We just aren't used to it...
Well, when something seems rediculous, people can take in in various ways. I certainly can't take this movie seriously. So I'm not even trying. It works.
Well he lost everything to Peter so it is not too hard to believe he wanted him dead. Many people have had people in their life that they hated and wished was gone.
@@superhydra8873 I think the problem lies in how Peter handled it (because of Venom), when he outed Eddie he says "There's not a paper in town that will hire me." begging him, so you can tell he's desperate. This could cause anyone to act immorally, and as far as he's concerned Spider-man's a stranger with at least a mask to protect himself.
12:00 Fun fact, as Peter is making those sounds the vibrations from the sound waves are adjusting his voice, making it sound like Venom while venom is being trapped in that sound cage. It’s a cool detail that I didn’t understand at first :)
I actually liked this movie lmao. It's definately the worst of the 3. But I still enjoyed it a lot. Spiderman 10/10. Spiderman 2 12/10. Spiderman 3....honestly solid 8/10. Maybe it's because I'm a sucker for spiderman and the fights scenes are always amazing. But it wasn't bad at all to me

peacher1156 meanwhile in the MCU.....
BUT THATS JUST A THEORY
@@braydenhuneau and no way home is coming out
Now I'll admit I do like this movie, but HATED all the studio interference. I mean, if Sam raimi was willing to venom, he would've pulled out his evil dead insanity and made him more frightening and intimidating. We all know he can
I still found Venom to be the strongest and more villainous enemy out of everyone in the Sam Raimi trilogy
Trevor Philips I mean green goblin killed by far the most people, doc caused a ton of destruction, and venom didn’t kill anyone and caused nowhere near the damage. Venom and carnage are my favorite spider man villains but venom was poor in this movie. He didn’t do much of anything
And I know venom is kinda an anti-hero, but In this version he’s definitely a villain
I love the Raimi trilogy but it’s painful to say that Venom is the weakest of all the villains in the series. They did him so wrong. At least he has his own movie now.
kyle daniels Venom killed officers in the footage that was playing when Peter saw the news of MJ being kidnapped
Gio A That’s right. Fuck Sony and Avi Arad. Those greedy douchbags who think money is what makes a film great.
4:07 "Nah, he dead."
Two words.
"Hello Peter."
Hell yeah
I think "domestic abuse" is a strong word given Peter didn't actually see that it was MJ who was grabbing him, but maybe that was what Raimi was intending.
But he still broke her heart
Well, he's not deaf. MJ said "Peter, stop!" before he hit her
Samuel iOSDev the symbiote controlled him
The symbiote is the domestic abuser, not Peter
Just because he didn't mean it doesn't make it less wrong. It is still domestic abuse.
I believe that the Rami Films have three powerful themes Responsibility , acceptance , forgiveness
The 2nd film is most likely choice.
Amen
I was a toddler when I first saw this. Loved this film and remember it. I used to even have a spider man costume that could be turned inside out to reveal the symbiote version. As soon as Peter was infected I used to immediately turn my costume inside out. When he switched to the later version I used to turn it back to red. Wow I was stupid.
Did I had that too 😂

Or more like one of the greatest meme
imo it makes way more sense than the other Peter's dance scene at the end of another Marvel movie i know of.
DigitalHeliumJumper what movie are you referring to?
Considering Sam Rami knew nothing about venom and only gave in to studio interference I liked the look they gave him people don’t give the symbiote effects enough credit it looks so good I could be practical
SkySlasher /S?
I don’t disrespect your opinion, but Venom’s face and appearance is universally hated by many, and for a good reason too.
It’s rushed, looks nothing like Venom, and most importantly, Topher Grace did not do the role justice, at least, when he actually was Venom.
Demi What about the symbiote's pratical effects and movements?
Demi it’s still better than that new venom movie tho

It really isn’t, but sure we’ll go with that.
I love this video. I understand that critically it was panned but this movie was part of my childhood and I loved it. It always hurts to see it get bashed.
it is NOT panned. you pulled that out of your ass. Its acclaimed and ambitious (meaning 'ambitious')!
This should've been two movies. One with Harry and Sandman, and another, just with Venom. The good stuff about the characters are there, but craming it all in one film ruined it.
Erick Ferraz which was the fault of Sony not Sam Raimi, who didn’t want venom in the movie but was basically forced into it
Sandman was the one who should have been removed from the movie.
I liked the movie a lot, it was only when Eddie became Venom that the whole thing was just lost for me. The dancing scene makes me cringe and laugh so hard, but it makes sense... Still I think you can really tell Raimi did not want to do Venom ^^;

@@christianhenry4173 wait... why does Spiderman 3 make you hate Homecoming?

It works.
People know it's for laughs...but it's not funny. It's just painfully corny and awkward.
Eddie Brock was fine in the movie, Venom should've been introduced at the very last scene as a bridge to what would've been the next movie.
@@nope5657 speak for yourself its hilarious
Lol is was so over the top when Eddie said “I want you to kill Peter Parker” like I understand that he hates him but still.
Well he lost everything to Peter so it is not too hard to believe he wanted him dead. Many people have had people in their life that they hated and wished was gone.
@@trueblue6201 wall he tried to give spiderman a bad name by photoshopping him stealing money from a bank
