anyone else wish he would stop talking so we could hear the speakers
Yeah...I do too.
I thought it was just me
That’s awesome being at 80mph and being able to hear it clear. The stock ones just aren’t good at all.
Thank you sir. I’m sure I’ll be riding the RG more now that I have the new system. Thank you for watching!
They are a fantastic company!
Hey Jason. Really impressed with Volunteer Audio. Really professional group! Thank you for watching!!
Congrats Ty glad Jay was able to help you out on the new system..
Hey Jeff! Yes, Jay and his crew did a fantastic job and I look forward to doing business with them again. Thank you for watching!!
@TyFromTennessee that's cool buddy how long did the install take start to finish..
@@JeffRondini1600 Maybe about 2 hours. They went to work the second we got there and got it knocked out pretty quick!
@TyFromTennessee that's cool Jay is good people 👍 I'm glad your happy with the sound I'm going to have Jay look at my bike I'm having a issue with my bike since I had my system put in it was from other place and other state and not sure why I'm have this issue sitting still it will play but riding down the road it cuts on and off it drives me crazy..
Great job!
Thank you very much! Your team was awesome to work with. I'll see you again for one of those saddlebag subwoofers next! I appreciate your time.
I have that same plus the sound stream radio. Awesome sound. The sound quality gets even better with the sound stream radio
Thanks Travis! I was thinking about upgrading the radio, but maybe next time. I would like to have one of those subwoofers! I appreciate your time today!
I just put the same system in my 2015 ultra and the sound is fantastic
That is awesome man! I really love this sound system. It's probably my favorite thing about the Road Glide. Volunteer Audio is a fantastic company to do business with too. Thank you for watching!
I love listening to music while I'm riding its so relaxing to me thanks for sharing it
You bet Ray. Glad I could help. Thank you for watching!
Love the music while riding but sometimes I like to hear only the rumble of the bike too.
Bike looks and sounds incredible! Thanks for sharing, I definitely need to upgrade my audio,,, ride safe! ☘️🏍️
Thanks Joe. I really appreciate your time today! Take care.
Great video! I’ve recently myself upgraded head unit, front, rear, and added the hertz bag set-up and it sounds great!!! I can’t wait until hertz comes out with subs for the bags I’m first in-line!
Hey Alfonso! They had some saddlebag sub woofers but I’m going to hold out on those for next time. Such a great sound! Thank you for watching!
I believe the only subwoofers Volunteer Audio offers are the drop in subwoofers by Precision Power.
Don't get the subs. You won't hear or feel them unless your putting around town.
Holy Crap Ty, when we ride together who's going to be able to hear me sing?.......sounds great sir..........Bob
Hahaha. Thanks Bob. Really looking forward to seeing you son friend!
Thank you for the review I live in the same area as you and I was really back and forth on weather or not it would be worth the drive up, but I think you have sold it for me lol
Yeah man. Volunteer Audio is such a fantastic company. If you call Jay be sure and tell him I sent ya and if you get something scheduled with him let me know!
Walk away are funny. I can’t tell anything from them but, I just installed the 6x9’s(cut out) and ordered the fairing speakers along with the Hertz 500 amp(not the 900). So. Hope it’s gonna sound good when all installed.
Hey Bryan! I hope you love it as much as I do. You’re right…walk aways just can’t do this system justice. Thank you very much for watching and have a great day!!
Nice review keep up the good work Ty From Tennessee
Thanks Marcus! I appreciate you very much sir. Have a great day!
tnx for the review, can’t wait to do mine
You bet! I highly recommend Volunteer Audio if that's possible for you. Great team over there. Thank you very much for watching!
Ok, the audio comes down to speaker(s), amp(s), and wiring quality. The installation work your local vendor (Volunteer Audio?) does is one thing. The (brand) speaker(s) and amp(s) quality is another thing entirely. They are related, though, because if the vendor sells and installs "crap" brands, it affects the vendor's reputation as well.
Question(s) to you: What factors determined your choice to go with Hertz speakers vs other brands? What other brands have you used?
Great video Ty as always!
Hey Toby. My previous SG CVO had a Rockford Fosgate Stage 2 and at hwy speeds the sound just wasn't all that good. I heard so many wonderful things about Volunteer Audio it seemed like the way to go. Glad I did. Hey man, I hope to see you very soon!
I agree the stock radio and speakers are terrible! A few years ago I had Rockford Fosgate system and xm radio module installed. Like you I thought "what a difference"! I like your install better for the amp placement. Mine takes up a small amount of left saddlebag. I ride my Limited more than my Heritage just for the music!
Hey Roger! Great point sir. I love my LRST but I can see me riding the RG more now because of the music. Just love it. Thank you for watching!!
Gotta get my stereo done soon. Sounds great Ty!!
Thanks Travis! I really appreciate that. So far I am super happy with the product. Great investment!
I do like the parking space measuring system 😂
hahaha! Thank you! Not an exact science, but I guess it works. (I don't know)...Thank you so very much for watching!
Sounds good. 😎👍
Thank you very much. So far I love it!!
Sounds great ty,though about taking my bike over to oliver springs and have them do my bike, thank for the review 👍👍
You bet Darrell. I hope it was helpful. I can't say enough great things about Volunteer Audio. Thank you for watching!
awesome video as always
Thanks man. I appreciate that very much. The system is thumpin'!!
Sounds good, Ty! One of these days I'd love to run an amp and new speakers, but I gotta save up my pennies first! :D
I totally understand that. It's an investment, but the sound really is amazing! Thank you for watching John!
sounds great! Been looking at their website. Sounds like its worth the money!
Hey there! Yes, it really is. So far, I believe it has been worth every penny. Once of my favorite things about my Road Glide. Thank you so very much for watching!
Sounds great
Thanks man. I appreciate that very much!
that's a nice looking bike
Thank you very much! I really do love my Road Glide. Such a fantastic traveling bike. Thank you very much for watching!
Hy Ty...Great great great content...what would you recommend to upgrade lowrider ST 2023 audio system?....
Thank you so very much! The Rockford Fosgate system for the LRST is awesome and I highly recommend it! Have a great day!!
🛑🛑 Ty…Great Sound!! 🔈
I did the Rockford Fosgate Stage 4 (Fairing, Lowers, and Tour Pack) on my CVO Ultra.
My Son In-law just installed a Hertz a Stage 6 system on (Fairing, Lowers, and Saddle Bags) on his CVO Street Glide.
Both systems are very comparable , and the difference is hard to tell.
My question….
Is you Amp on your system 2000 Watts?
That number sounds really high to me.
Keep Rocking My Friend!!
😂👍💯
I’m too broke for a Harley can I do the same thing with my 2012 Vulcan 900 custom?
Honestly, that is a question for the experts. I would contact Volunteer Audio and see what they can do for you. Their customer service is outstanding and they are very helpful. Thank you for watching! I appreciate your time today!
Awesome wtg Ty. Wow you're really customizing your bike. Well done 🎉 Ride safely 🏍💯 I did put a deposit last month for the exact same type of bike you have. I'm not sure if I should stick with it and wait until August when it arrives at the HD store or should I wait until the 2024 RGS are available.
Ooooo. Tough choice for sure! I really do love this Road Glide. It's such a great motorcycle. Thank you very much for watching! I appreciate your time today!
How does it do jamming for extended periods of time? Say 60-70% volume for 4-5 hours straight? Any issues with cutting out? Have the Rockford junk currently and absolutely hate it! Once i replace it all im using it for target practice so no one else goes through the hassle of installing just to be disappointed! Lol
Man, I have taken several trips for hours at a time and there have been zero problems with this system. It has worked flawlessly. Volunteer Audio really does great work and I so far it has been worth every penny. Thank you so much for watching!
I love hertz ! I had about $7000 just in hertz Amps on my wakeboat .
What a system cost like this ? My stock Harley speakers suck … the new bag cut outs are clean 💪🏼
For this one it's about 3K. Thank you for watching!
Great video. Thank you.
Thank you for watching. I appreciate your time today.
I cant find anything bad about heartz other than tweeters are too loud for some. I have an older flh. Aquatic radio. Have neo 6.5s. Went with rockford cut in kit for bags. 1000watt 4 channel. Im sure once its in, that it will be more than I need.
I'm really impressed with the Hertz products and the level of service at Volunteer Audio. I'm not a performance bagger type of guy. I don't care to build out my engine and go crazy fast, BUT I am very particular about my audio/music experience. It's one of my favorite things about my Road Glide. Thank you so much for watching and have a great day!
They are awesome. Is this the same place that Traveling Tall went to?
Yes sir. Same place. So far I’m super impressed with the product. Great team over there. Thank you for watching!!
Great looking and sounding bike. You should swap out that garbage factory windshield for a taller better protecting one. It will cut down the wind so you don’t have to crank up the volume at speed and make a much more enjoyable ride. I have a 2017 roadglide I went with a 13” long ride shields windshield but I’m 6’5 needed the height and keeps the bugs out of my face. Great video though
Yeah man. I have been dragging my feet on that, but I'll probably get one ordered in the next few weeks or so. I would like a super short on because I really don't like looking through a windshield. Thank you for watching and I appreciate your feedback!
Jay does a great job. I initially had him put new speakers and a new amp on my ‘21 Ultra. About 2 months ago I took it back and had him him replace the amp with the bigger Hertz 2000 watt amp and add speakers to my lowers. I can do 85 mph on the interstate and hear everything clearly. Hell, Helen Keller could hear my music now! Do you use a Sena or Cardo in your helmet?
Hey Ernie! I have a Sena but I never use it unless it's for group riding. Volunteer Audio does a great job. I'm looking forward to doing business with them again very soon! Thank you for watching!
@@TyFromTennessee I’ve never used a helmet headset so I’m pretty ignorant about how they work. When you use one do you still listen to your music through your bike stereo too?
@@erniemorgan471 When you use a sena or a cardo it will connect to your phone via Bluetooth and bypass the motorcycle stereo. They work well, it's just not my personal preference.
@@TyFromTennessee thanks. I don’t see any sense in bypassing my bike stereo since I spent so much on upgrading it. Thanks!
@@easyrideguy I hear everything fine. I tend to set everything up in the middle range and the sound blends in fine. But I’m not one of those folks who is able to hear the subtle differences in bass, treble etc. I just want to be able to hear my music clearly at 75 mph with a full or 3/4 helmet and I can with this setup.
Tunes are a must. Gotta have it. Thank you for sharing
Hi Ray. You are very welcome. Me too man. I’ve gotta have music when I ride. Thank you for watching!
Any subwoofer in it? Sound soooo good love it! Watching here from Philippines
No sub woofers but still plenty of bass! Thank you for watching!
up in the air on getting the sound stream 14si unit? Is the stock head unit flashed good enough? definitely doing the 4 speakers and amp on my 23 street glide special.Just kicking around upgrading the head unit. Thanks!
Hey there! I kept the stock infotainment in mine, but I'm 100% certain that I'll have Volunteer Audio upgrade that soon. Maybe this summer. If you go with this setup you will love it! It makes the bike so much more fun. Thank you so much for watching!
Looks like a great job and nice audio. What is your total cost to have this installed and the speaker upgrades? Does the store you use have places in other states? Thanks and Ride Safe
Hello HDR! It was right at 3K for parts and labor. I think the only location they have is in Oliver Springs TN. Great people over there for sure. Thank you for watching!
It’s well worth the drive to have Jay fix you up!
do you recommend any bluetooth addons so i can do the same things, but to a road king special?
Just a simple Bluetooth controller for your phone should work just fine. I use a cheap one that I found on Amazon when I'm on my LRST. Thank you for watching!
Hey Ty, how does this compare to the rockford fosgate on your low rider st?
It doesn’t even compare. It’s so much louder and clearer. Next week I’m going to be working on a video that compares the RF vs Hertz speakers. Thanks for watching!
very nice ty...you put any slip ons on?
Thank you very much. Love the stereo on this bike. Yes, I have Rinehart 4.5 slip-ons for this motorcycle. To me, they have a really nice tone to them. Thank you for watching!
Can you actually hear the saddlebag lids on the highway? I have all hertz same as you except saddlebag speakers and debating spending the money. Thanks
Honestly, it’s tough to tell when you’re in a full face helmet but I just love the system and it’s worth every penny!!
Did you install saddlebag speakers? I have same issue
@@techtrontest8950 no i am going to add a king tourpack and put the sv165 neo’s in the speaker pods on the king tour pack
Do the rear bag speakers greatly reduce the storage capacity or is it not too noticeable?
The speakers take up a little bit of space but not bad at all. Thank you very much for watching!
What’s the midrange sound quality, do you get any bass out of the 6x9s?
The sound quality is amazing. Plenty of bass for me but if you want more you can add a subwoofer for something extra. Thank you for watching!!
Where in Tennessee did you get the install done at?
Volunteer Audio is located in Oliver Springs TN. Great company to work with!!
Are they waterproof?
Yes sir. If rain gets in there just open it up and dump it out. Super impressed with this system. Thank you for watching!
It’s always awesome when you have a stereo that’s rocking it!!
I’m looking into cicada….
Yeah. It’s super loud but sounds very clear. Worth every penny to me. Thank you for watching!!
Just curious what it cost u ? I’ve been researching these guys .
You're looking at about 3K for this setup. I hope that helps and thank you for watching!
About 2 grand? Is it a better option then Rockford Fosgate?
It was closer to 3K and so much better than RF! It's much louder and super clear. Thank you very much for watching! I appreciate your time today!
@@TyFromTennessee thank for responding. Maybe I'll catch you one day at WL and hear it. The only issue I've seen several people pay the 2 grand for the Rockford kit and regret it
@@DSPAINTWORKZ I had RF on my previous SG CVO. The guy who bought it is going to work with me on a Hertz vs RF video next week. Should be pretty cool! Yeah man, I sure hope to see you at the dealership soon!!
@@TyFromTennessee definitely want to see that. Can't wait be perfect for people thinking bout spending that much on audio.
The least expensive way to improve your audio experience on your HD is ear plugs. They negate a lot of wind and road noise and let the music volume come thru louder and clearer. I would not spend money to upgrade my audio without 1st using ear plugs.
Should wear ear plugs to protect hearing and try to ward off Tinnitus.
Great point Craig. Do you have a pair that you would recommend?
@@TyFromTennessee I use the cheapo rubber like orange plugs that are connected with an orange cord, Ty. They do a good job of "filtering" as mentioned in my original post. A note of caution about the foam ear plugs; you squish them and they expand when in the ears but my understanding is they are illegal in some states because they do too good a job of muting noise.
@@craigjarboe2834 Thank you sir. Much appreciated…
Whose speaker grills are in the fairing?
Hertz. Volunteer Audio provided those as well. I think they look DOPE!
Niiiiice
Thank you sir!
ooltewah exit! chatt local?
Yes sir! Indeed! Ooltewah/Harrison!
It's better to integrate headphones into your Helmet. You can get amazing quality headphones for your helmet that will sound 10 - 20 times better than speakers. Motorcycles cannot produce enough amps to have a "good" stereo with speakers. Nor is having speakers out in the open in the wind good either. For you or the neighbors. LOL
Hey there! Yeah, I've tried listening to music in my helmet and I just don't like it that much. I get it..it's subjective and different from person to person. I'm super happy with the system in the bike right now and I do highly recommend for those who like to play through the external speakers. It's not for everyone and I understand that too. Thank you so much for watching. I appreciate your time very much!
Hey ty what was the cost $
Hey Dennis. The cost was right at 3K for parts and labor. Thank you very much for watching. I appreciate your time!
Sinister sound is better all the way around. And there is a dealer in oak ridge tn.
Cool man. If you have em', I hope you love em'. Thank you for watching!
@TyFromTennessee not yet picking up new bike Thursday and building it audio is at a later date but never know what will happen.
👍👍
Thanks Cedric! I appreciate your time today!
you wearing a full face helmet?
Yes sir. I sure am!
Thank you, that's how I ride 99% of the time and I can't hear this stock crap at 70 plus mph. Think I'm going with the ppi amp and hertz new horn loaded 6.5 from Volunteer audio in my fairing to start with. Thanks again for the response
@@extensiveinc3777 Youbwill love it. I can go 80mph+ and hear my music just fine.
🛑🛑 Ty are you sure the AMP on that bike 2000 Watts??
I’m 100% sure. Someone else asked the same thing so I checked my paperwork and the website. It’s such a fantastic system. Thank you very much for watching!
@@TyFromTennessee
Seems off to me.
My Rockford System in my Ultra is 800 AMPs, and the Hertz System my Son In-law put in was 900 AMPs.
My Surf Boat has 2500 AMP System in it, and it’s “stupid loud”.
😂👍
Looks really like a nice system. I think you are all setup now. 👍
@@genekelley7579 Please do me a favor. Go to this link --> bityl.co/InR3 to Volunteer Audio's website and take a look at the "Select Amplifier" section. I have the Hertz amp so please just make sure I'm telling people the correct info. I would greatly appreciate your feedback. Thank you!
@@TyFromTennessee
Looks like a 2000 Watt AMP to me. 👍💯
I know my Lowers are really “rocking”on my bike with what is have…the speakers would go through the water side if your AMP was in there.
Looks Great!!
Rock On!! 🔈 🤘
@@genekelley7579 Thank you so very much for double-checking for me. I really appreciate that. I don't want to give out bad info! Have a great day...
So how much was the installation and speakers and amp upgrade.
Hey there! It was right around 3K for parts and labor. Love the new system. Thank you for watching!
You should only play Metallica at 100%!!! Good stuff Ty.
I like the way you think man! Much appreciated!!
Pretty sure its not a 2000w amp. Max power is for marketing imo...
Hi Paul. I just double-checked the website and it does say 2000 watts. You had me second-guessing myself..hahah! It sounds so good man. I'm really impressed with the product. I appreciate your time and thank you for watching!
@TyFromTennessee it's not 2000w. U have about a true 400-500w system, which is quite a bit. And it also looks like that amp is putting out more power than the speakers can handle unless they have the amp turned down appropriately. Max Power means nothing...RMS is continuous power.
@@paulh6101 Thanks for your feedback Paul. Much apprecited.
One thing is worse than a harley rider, a harley rider with a stereo.
What’s even worse is a non-Harley rider complaining about Harley riders.
Wow 500 watts to each speaker...
It’s a very loud system.
@@TyFromTennessee well yeah 500 to each speaker.
Maybe it is different in Europe but, riding a motorcycle with external speakers at full blast is idiotic. Well OK; smaller countries, towns & villages only miles apart instead of 100’s like the US.
I had Hogtunes Ultra on my Ultra Classic and playing through the speakers was rubbish at speed, the bikes noise not doing justice to the sound on the highway.
Nothing worse than car drivers going through populated areas blasting out rap and pop music.
I think most of it is personal preference. I like listening to my music on the external speakers and sometimes loud, sometimes not. Most of my riding buddies use a Bluetooth device to listen. The system that Volunteer Audio installed is top notch and the sound quality is amazing. Thank you for watching!
Aok😊
Thank you very much Larry!
There is nothing like spending $40,000 on a bike that has a crap audio system, seat and suspension.
Barry - You spend your money on what has value to you and I’ll spend based on what has value to me. Be nice and be a better person.

I’ve heard great things about Kenwoods. I’m sure they sound awesome too. Thank you for watching!
@TyFromTennessee there top of the line if you want those highs n lows on top of a bump......going thru harley for anything is overprices
To much talking. Mean music is not as loud as he say it is.
Yes. It is most definitely as loud as I say. Have you heard a system from Volunteer Audio?
Thats what 3k or so to piss off your neighbors. For 1/10 the cost Zyphon or U-Clear helmet systems sound way better than Cardo or Sena and the neighbors can go back to bitchin about the zit face teen down the street.
I hear you. I do not like listening to my music with a Cardo or Sena. Just not my personal preference. If that works out for you, that's great man. I bought the system for my enjoyment. Pissing off the neighbors is just a bonus. Thank you very much for watching!
Cant really tell over your talking
It is loud. It is very very loud. Thank you for watching today!
Stop talking when trying to do this!!! Lord have mercy
