I never leave comments - this may be my first one. On December 4th of 2023 I played this song for my step-father as he fought a painful battle with cancer. He was in my life for 45 years and was more of a mother to me than my own mother was. He had become nearly unresponsive and as I played this song I could tell that something was changing in him. At the point where the song hits a crescendo and the lyrics, translated are, "You become free from the bonds that bind you. You are free from the bonds that bound you," he took a deep breath, nearly sitting up, and made a sound of pain, his once closed eyes opened and fluttered closed. He layed back again and never regained consciousness. He passed away 14 hours later. Thank you, Einar, for gifting this song to all of us. I truly believe that this song helped my step-father transition across the bridge. I am so thankful to you so that we could give him this song.
Seems like he just needed a little help calling the Valkyries to take him from his battlefield, to dine with the Gods. May he find peace in Valhalla. ❤❤
May your step-father enjoying his afterlife in Hel where he belongs with his ancestors. Stay strong, you have all my support my friend. I unfortunatly already know what you have to endure.. I had a dream after I let something very important to me go in my life. I climbed a mountain, found a peak to sit on, and drummed as this echoed around the mountain. I feel like it was my soul sending it off for good.

I sought the songs
I sent the songs
when the deepest well
offered drops so mighty
of Valfather’s pledge
I know it all, Odin
where you hid your eye
Who will sing me
in the death-sleep sling me
when I walk the road to Hel
and the tracks I tread
are cold, so cold
Early or in fading day
still the raven knows if I fall
When you stand by the gate of Hel
and when you must tear loose
follow you I shall
across the bridge of Gjöll with my song
You become free from the bonds that bind you
You are free from the bonds that bound you

46 now and I never fail to tear up at this song and I fairly cry. Beautiful 🤯♥️🙇♂️
This song is AMAZING
my blood dances and my body shivers. This music brings forth eternal memories from my all northern blood.
Your beautiful & dark music takes me to another world and time....connecting me to my ancestors. Thank you.
This is already in my will. I will be buried to this song. And my children shall be there to sing me into the next.
Hi. My music is quite good. what do you think of it? Can I give me comments?

I played it at my father's service in January.
@Felipe The Norse "Hel" isn't the same as the Christian Hell. Completely different, actually. Hel is not a punishment.

It's not your music, you're just posting other people's music!
I can NOT put into words how majestic their music is!!!
Is it just me that I close my eyes and i get transported somewhere, where all is calm, peacefull... oh, and goosebumps
Hi🤘 My music is quite good. What do you think?
Would love to see this band live. Incredible energy ❤❤
Unforgettable!
Do it. They are absolutely amazing. Even if you watch their live performances on RUclips, it sounds like the album. It's even better in person.
All the best to you Einar and the entire Wardruna group. From the heart and soul a great gift.
Wise words Nicolai
Heil Odin!

My puppy just tried singing along to this, she wasn't howling but like a cute whine 😅
Awww ❤so cute. Bless that puppy!
My most favourite song, love this performance, absolutely beautiful and it stirs me inside
Hello.. My video is quite good. Is it ok with you?
As a norwegian who has had to much faith in the system, and has now lost my autonomy, this song surely is awakening something inside of me!
From Oslo. I have loved your music for very long time. I was at kirkhelleren in traena when you performed there. You bring great honor to the northern tradition
First Wardruna song I've listened to and still one of my favourites. So emotional, meaningful, powerful.
Touching and poetic
Gets right into the depths of the soul for some of us. LOVE your music.
Hello. My video is quite good. Is it ok with you?
Saw it in Kraków two days ago and it was an EXPERIENCE. Thanks, Wardruna, hope to see you back soon, as you promised :)
I had a dream after I let something very important to me go in my life. I climbed a mountain, found a peak to sit on, and drummed as this echoed around the mountain. I feel like it was my soul sending it off for good.
My aunt passed away some months back. I blasted this song in her honor. Rest in peace, Aunt Bev. 🖤
I get goosebumps and watery eyes every time I hear this song. (I am 41 and Metal Head since 30 Years)
Best song in the universe
Why only 24k likes??? Deserves 24 million. My friend is singing this at my funeral. Strength and honour
Sitting here crying like a baby. Touched. Just touched

What a Song ❤❤
I know this is a cultural music and history, but there is also something so deeply human about this. I don’t know if I’m allowed to, but I feel like this just unlocks a part of me that feels rooted, powerful, unstoppable, yet humble.
I’ve been listening to the community for many years, and there is something indescribable about this particular power.
Know exactly what you feel. After listen Wardruna i just started digging some information about Slavic ancestors. I know that Norsk and Slavic are diffrent but still ...
This song always hits deep, but this particular performance made me tear up at the end. Such beautiful energy throughout! And congrats to Katrine for doing a wonderful job with her harmonies. Her voice blends beautifully with Einar's and Lindy's. Congrats on the new release!
Hello.😍😍. My video is quite good. Is it ok with you?
I totally agree with you! I love how Katrine's vocals fits with Einar's and Lindy's. 💜
I feel the Magic!
That's amazing, love from Greece
Hello. My video is quite good. Is it ok with you?
"Helvegen" is a family name (matriarch side) for me. I have always wondered if the name meant MORE and I know nothing of my ancestors now. I think this song hits on exactly what the name is supposed to mean. Love it. Thank you for this song that has opened the doors to my ancestors for me. Thank you, Ancestors, for guidance, teaching, and protection
First time I heard this song on the Vikings TV show i listened to it on repeat. Now ive found the band and its amazing. See you in Wacken 2023
So beautiful is this gift.

Best song ever. Goosebumbs. ❤
Man this gives me chills whenever I hear it. So much power in this song!
What you feel that you cannot explain in words when you listen to this is your blood memory. The ancestral gods of the blood are alive. We are still to recover from the dark ages.
Fenomenálne.
Trafia bezpośrednio w duszę...coś pięknego.... ❤❤❤
This is my favorite Nordic song by far!
Death isn't something we ought to fear. There's no need to. It is a NATURAL process WE will ALL go through. This is very powerful song. It touched my soul deep down. I'm proud of my Scandinavian blood❤💯💪🏻👊🏻
I meditate to this song. It brings me peace.
I had the pleasure to see them in concert a couple weeks ago. Absolutely stunning! Love them!
I saw them live on 3 October at Red Rocks and this song was so powerful yet beautiful.
I will strive to live a good enough life to deserve this song being sung at my funeral.
I heard this for the first time yesterday and it was as my soul was hearing some primordial calling back to something essential and forgotten. A bubble of emotion rose in my chest and tears started streaming down my face although I didn’t feel at all sad-on the contrary, I felt relief. 🙏
Helvegen should be on Spotify with that horn/trumpet
I LOVE Wardruna!!! How awesome are they!!
C'est magnifique MERCI. Votre musique soigne l'âme 🙏😍🎶⏳
It sounds silly to type it out, but... the way your music reaches inside me and awakens something deep and ancient... it's a surreal feeling, and one that always brings me to the brink of tears, while also making me somehow feel stronger and suddenly empowered. I'm so thankful for the day I found this music and also so very thankful for your talent, Wardruna.
Beautiful. Powerful. Totally masterful.
