    A fan made this ship. Not a studio, not a corporation, not a director. A fan. A fan who got nothing out of it except to have a chance to join a universe he loved. A fan made this, and it is beautiful.

      Honestly it’s horrible. I’m absolutely glad it’s not canon. There’s a huge hole in the middle of it. It’s like a fat oberth. The saucer section reminds me of a giant spoon.

      Actually, the split-neck is far more stable then older designs, better for in-atmosphere travel and perfect for aquatic research, ergo the fins.

      The soundtrack for First Contact was one if not the BEST soundtrack of any Trek film. It's just amazing, gives you so many different feelings and so nostalgic. Reminds me when I and my brother went to see that movie back in the theatres in the 90's when it came out as kids. Such good memories

    We came a long way. Thou there were wars and struggles. We manage to survive and build. For every ship we build and fly, it gives honor to 1st Contact. Even thou we have lost thousands, we come back stronger, thou we are not perfect, we try to be. From the HMS Enterprise to the Enterprise F, lets hope the name Enterprise isnt forgotten, Through every timeline we grow stronger, the Kelvin timeline is a proud example. As i was saying, when we were weakened, we rebuild.

    • @kwaktak
      @kwaktak 4 года назад +3

      You’re assuming each of these windows is quarters. They could be compartments with other functions like labs, workshops, etc. Also, present day ocean vessels - and even the JJ Prize - have different lighting for different times of the day and go with red or amber lighting to reduce a ship’s visibility from longer differences. In Star Trek Beyond for instance there was a scene when the ship was at red alert and all the window lights were red too.

      These works will undoubtedly inspire the future because, well, the symbols of Star Trek are now so well known that these have already inspired people to study science, get college degrees, join NASA (if only in supporting roles) and aspire to become astronauts.
      In other words, part of the legacy of Star Trek has already come to pass! There are dozens of audio books, a dozen or more films (in total), fan created websites, entire wikia dedicated to documenting Trek storyline elements, games, video games, costumes, collectibles and more! Star Trek as birthed an entire universe of technology and technological innovations as well as more fictional creations by way of extension of the ideas Mr. Roddenberry set into motion!
      I strongly feel humanity will have an actual Starfleet Academy one day and the best of the best will graduate among it's ranks! Count on it. (Feb. 2020)

    Man...this reminds me of a ship I conceptualized and sketched out waaaay back in 1995. I literally called is the NCC-723 "Odyssey", and it was a ship built for deep space exploration, but was then retasked with finding Voyager after she vanished. She was based on the Enterprise E hull, but instead of twin nacelles, she had a flattened ring around her that FOUR nacelles were mounted to (like an X-Wing), and when she went to warp, they repositioned themselves further out on the ring. God...now I want to go find that sketchbook I had it in and try to find someone to actually render it in 3D!!! lol

    1:49 I love the Odyssey with the more circular deflector, kind of marries it a bit with the Sovereign design language.

    This movie is definetly THE BEST #raffle one! It gives you the feeling of a real Star Trek movie intro. The best part is where the Sojourner Class flagship appears infront of the asteroid field! And the theme you picked is just perfect for the cause. @admiralvince

    That ship is huge! Could you imagine if Starfleet managed to build a replicator big enough to put those out every couple of days?

    Fantastic work! I don't know if we will survive as a species to ever get somewhere near this capability. It would be so life changing if we had three of these ships right now. I would be so stoked to know we were reaching out to the stars with warp capable ships even if I wasn't on one of them.

    Does it have the pew pew weapons or the real deal weapons from TNG and DS-9.

    "Realistically", though the model looks great and all, the two bits connecting the saucer-section to the secondary hull should probably not have windows, as it's likely quite narrow as it is, and those parts already needs to have the space for the turbo-lifts, conduits for power and all that.

      I think you’re underestimating how large this ship is. One of those neck segments is probably around the same thickness as a common skyscraper.

    I don't get the gap between the two hulls but it's nice all round...
