@ 5.02min: for summer tires also 1,6mm is the limit in Germany. 3mm for summer and 4mm for winter tires are recommendations.
Solid info. Will be arriving soon so this came at a great time.
You bring a 4x4?
I have a modified Jeep Wrangler here in the KMC & he hit most of the basics but he forgot to mention that Steel bumpers are legal in Germany. It just can’t have a protruding stinger/ Grill guard that sticks out in front of the bumper itself. Also Winches provide a loophole for the legality of certain steel bumpers
I have a '97 TJ that I really don't want to part with. Do you have any other tips/advice/requirements that I should know before deciding to ship it over?
I remember the headaches!!!!
In Reality he is the Smart Owner! Because Smart owneresr Are smart!
Do red rear turn signals (that are usually also stop signal lights) on American-spec cars need to be replaced with orange lights for the inspection?
Is there some where you can go for tint?
Omg I miss autobahn
Don't miss buying fuel by the liter. How much is it? Omg
I have a modified sonata N, with after market exhaust, tinted windows aftermarket diffuser lip
Spoiler rear spoiler and I'm just thinking on just selling it. My wife is active duty so she will be bringing her ford bronco. But what would you gush prefer? Do I just sell it in the states or bring it?
Great video, DT! I'll be there mid year next year but I have LED headlights. Where do I get the certification that Ed was speaking about that will allow me to continue to use the LED headlights?
Hey boss, thanks for watching! Usually that certificate comes with the LED headlights or bulbs. In German it’s called an Allgemeine Betriebserlaubniss (ABE). What type of car/truck do you have? And are they aftermarket LED headlights or straight from the manufacturer?
@DTVDanielTelevision I have a 2017 ford escape. They're aftermarket LEDs from Walmart. I'll just buy some regular bulbs and travel with them to be on the safe side when I pick up from the vpc!
@@lemonade4203 retrofitting reflect your halogen headlights with LED bulbs is illegal unless it has TÜV certification. If you really want to keep your Ford escape on LED headlights, invest in some new LED headlight housing where the LED is built into the actual unit. The lens must say DOT SAE E9 for it to be legal.
I addition to headaches, big heavily modified cars are often not very practical in Germany and many European countries, because of:
- narrow roads (just imagine an German Altstadt / old city center or old Italian cities)
- parking space
- fuel prizes
Just try something new and different here in Germany and I am sure you will like it. (Not sponsored by UCG😂)
Facts! 🛻 These are the reasons we encourage Americans to get rid of their "monster truck" and buy something more convenient to European roads 👍🏾
I have a modified & lifted 4door Jeep Wrangler and passed inspection. Jeep wranglers are officially sold in Germany, and are narrow enough to fit in most parking spaces in Europe.
@@ay-ay-ron8895 Germany even has trucks and busses and vans and other big vehicles, and sure, pickup trucks are sold here as well. It is just not fun to drive or park them in many towns and city centers. Maybe you will enjoy the experience, maybe not, but I do wish you the best. Just don´t two or more parking lots just because you are unable to exit you car 😉
@@ileana8360 that’ll never happen with a Jeep, they are narrower than most European SUVs but sure i guess
@@ay-ay-ron8895 Well, todays SUV are often occupying more than 1 spot as fas as I can see. I have a Skoda Octavia, have driven big audis, Mercedes and BMWs and have to say, that the cars get wider, the standart parking spot does not. The only cars I could comfortably exit when parked in a Parkhaus or supermarket parking lot was my little Opel Corsa and for a brief period the 911. 😉
