Great video! I feel like I could watch rowing footage like that (professionals in beautiful waters, with cool editing and a nice soundtrack) for hours, rowing is just so hypnotic.. (So please keep sharing the footage you've got!)

Pair’s the best boat
When it's all going well it is a lot of fun!
The most perfect water. Technical rowing question if I may. At our club they are constantly banging on about tapping down (for good reason) but they tell us to tap down so everyone’s handle is 2” off the sax (???) board. Your handle is nowhere near 2”. Not even close. Same with other videos I am watching. Are they talking nonsense or is there a reason they are telling us 2”?
Every coach has there technique that they want their athletes to follow. I wouldn't model your rowing off this video - just talk to your coach and ask why 2" above. One reason might be that if you can manage it, it really helps boat feel
Andrew Burrows could be that in an eight the saxboard is higher that in these pairs. Also find in pairs at lower rates that keeping the blades lower above the water makes it easier to balance with your partner, compared to the eight which aids balance by being wider.
They say it no matter what boat we are in, which for me is a 4 or an 8. And every video I have ever seen no matter what boat its never 2" above the saxboard. I will bring it up with them and see what they say, maybe something to do with us not being perfectly balanced???

It would also be really cool if you could just make a huge compilation of rowing. Depending on how much footage you have it would be a good idea to make 5 or 10 minute videos. I think that would be really cool especially because you are going to have more new footage so why not use the old videos.
That's what I am doing just now! I keep finding video I haven't used. There is a lot of stuff that hasn't seen the light of day
