After uploading last couple of wild boar hunting videos I had a few questions about the gun I used so here goes.
It is Italian make Fair Combi de Luxe model. It is over-and-under combination type of gun with a top 12 gauge shotgun barrel with a 3" chamber. Bottom rifled barrel is in .30-06 Spr flavor. I bought it mainly for driven hunts, but it does not get much use these days.
The scope on top is a Schmidt & Bender Klassic 2.5-10x56 with illuminated reticule. At lowest setting it is suitable on a driven hunt, but maybe not ideal as 56mm is not really needed, but very good at low light.
The scope can be quickly removed using Leupold QD mounts. It is repeatable and there is no need for re-zeroing. In dense cover I often use open sights.
The gun also has nice set trigger.
Not very popular, but if you want to try something different, I can honestly recommend Fair combination guns.

Witam, zakupiłem taką kniejówkę FAIR COMBI PRESTIGE w kal. 7x65 - 20/76, broń lekka składna i pięknie strzela kulą jak i śrutem, jakość wykończenia jak i samo drewno jest piękne. Wspaniała broń na jesienno zimowe polowania. Strzał z kuli jak i śrutu należy do przyjemnych:). Myślę że do tak dobrego filmu potrzebna była dobra reklama owej marki:)
how many barrels (one rifled barrel and one smoothbore barrel) of a combination gun are together?
I usually have some shot for foxes and badgers, slugs only on driven hunts when expect wild boar, but it is on very rare occasions.

Yes if it was mainly used for driven hunts, but it is not... S&B set to 2.5x is not too bad either, but generally it does not look as well as say 42mm scope or less.
Nice combo. The scope is the difference between getting game or no game in Central-European low light hunt

Nice rifle mate, I love combo guns.
Now that is a good lookin' gun.
I got a Baikal IZH94 O/U in the same calibers and a low end Leupold scope on detachable Warne mounts for 1/3 of what it cost for just the Schmidt & Bender scope on the rig pictured in this video. The Baikal IZH94 is built strong and the rifle is very accurate.
If you're all about pragmatism and functionality get the Baikal but if you're into making a statement about your financial status the Fair & S+B rig is the way to go.
+bushed274 I dont think Fair guns are really near the top range to show off anybody's financial status, it is just one of the mid level Italian makers. I am sure it is possible to hunt with IŻ, but I disliked triggers in all the Russian guns I tried, so keep away from them. This one is sometimes used for boar and predator shooting under the moon and that is why it has the S&B on the top as it has to be good in low light and Leupold would not work for me. I dont like spending silly money and dont really own latest and greatest equipment and dont care about the badges, but sometimes just have to spend a bit more to get the gear that does the job.
RoeStalker what's wrong with the triggers from the Russian made guns? i personal had used shotguns and a combination gun from Russian i never had issues with them. maybe you have issues with Russia and you dislike everything about Russia.
+bakani baleni I have nothing against Russia at all. A guy just said to buy an IZ because it's cheaper. Each to their own. I only said any Russian gun I tried had poor trigger. I tried combination and single break action IZ 18 and both were terrible. My father owns old shotgun and it is very good reliable shotgun.
I more often take my old rifle out than this one, but I used it on wild boar recently.
interesuje mnie sprawa montażu. czy po zdejmowaniu lunety musi Pan przestrzeliwać broń, czy montaż jest powtarzalny?
Witam kolegę, montaż jest solidny i nic się nie przestawia nie ma potrzeby przystrzeliwania za każdym razem. Zdejmuję na ogół lunetę do czyszczenia i potem broń strzela tak samo. Darz Bór.

Witam Panu (wiem że to raczej nie poprawnie i nie po myśliwskiemu ale jakoś mi tak dziwnie pisać od razu Kolego)mam pytanie co Pan myśli o kniejówce jako o broni ogólnie czy warto ją mieć czy raczej się nie sprawdza. Mam na uwadzę właśnie kniejówkę FAIRA w kal. 8x57/20x76 i tak się zastanawiam czy warto czy nie warto. Jak by mógł Pan w kilku słowach odpowiedzieć. Serdecznie pozdrawiam i czekam na nowe filmiki. Witam Kolegę, proszę może nie zrażać się tym co napiszę i samemu dobrze przemyśleć temat, ale mi się kniejówka zupełnie nie sprawdziła. Pomysł wydawał mi się dobry na początku ale od kilku lat używa jej wyłącznie mój ojciec i jest to głównie broń "zapasowa". Sam strzeliłem z niej może 1-2 sztuki, chyba nigdy nawet nie użyłem lufy śrutowej. Broń jest ciężka, nieskładna, irytuje przesunięcie punktu trafienia po każdym strzale i trzeba czekac az ostygnie lufa itp. Głównie stoi w szafie i się kurzy. Do mojego stylu polowania nie pasuje i uważam że sztucer jest lepszy pod każdym względem. Nie polecam i jakość Fair też nie jest specjalnie wysoka. Pozdrawiam. DB

No, not really, but I used to take my over and under shotgun on driven hunts and was loading it with a slug to the bottom barrel (first trigger) and shot to the top barrel. I think I ones shot a fox with a slug...

Przymierzam się do zakupu kniejówki ,jednak starsi myśliwi stanowczo mi odradzają mówią że kniejówka strasznie sieję po tarczy i ciężko coś trafić,
Jak coś to moja jest na sprzedaż, jest ogłoszenie na optyce. Kniejówka nie służy do strzelania do tarczy tylko do polowania. Ponieważ lufy są zlutowane, to gdy jedna się nagrzewa a druga nie to punt trafienia się przesuwa. Pierwsze 1-2 strzały są w punkt, potem będzie przesunięcie, ale na polowaniu na ogół to nie problem. Przystrzeliwanie jest upierdliwe, bo trzeba długo czekać aż lufa ostygnie, ale taka uroda kombinowanej broni.

Witam jestem zainteresowany zakupem podobnej jednostki w kalibrze7x65 na 20/76 natomiast w wersji Prestige, zastanawiam się czy jest to jednostka warta grzechu i jaka jest różnica między kulą a breneką. Czy kolega poleca taką broń?
+landek12 Wstyd się przyznać ale nigdy nie strzelałem breneką z tej broni, śrut układa się dobrze. Nie jest to moja ulubiona jednostka i rzadko wygląda z szafy. Z założenia miała być na zimowe polowania i na zbiorówki, ale i tak najczęsciej zabieram sztucer który jest lżejszy i poręczniejszy. Broń jest fajna strzela dobrze, ale w ogole nie mam w tej chwili zastosowania dla kniejówki i generalnie nie kupiłbym zadnej kniejówki ponownie, a raczej kolejny sztucer.
Dziękuje za szczerość , też chcę zakupić ją tylko na sezon zimowy z e względu na to iż zimą lubię polować na futro:)

A nice hunting combination, but in this caliber 30.06 you have a problem with the ecstriction after the shot? I ask to know whether to buy this calibre or "R". Thanks!
No problems with extraction, but if buying again would buy a rimmed R cartridge

Do you use Brenneke slugs in the 12 bore part or SSG/ buckshot ?
Are there such things as combination guns that come with ammo magazines? Ones that are divided into sections for the different ammo? Are such guns even possible?
Fell Man Dont think so, all the combo guns I know of are based on shotgun action no magazines there.
RoeStalker Would it be possible to build a combo gun with a magazine?
Fell Man I dont know I guess it would if you find a good riflesmith that would do it for you
The only combo gun that i know of with this capability is the Innogun Hybrid (german of course, who else?). It combines a single shot shotgun barrel and a pump action rifle barrel with 3 or 5 round magazine. Innogun Hybrid it is. Don't know about accuracy or any more detail though. I think there is a video of it on youtube.
r91976 Not exactly what I was looking for. I was looking for a combo gun that came with a magazine that held both shotgun shells and rifle bullets divided into 2 sections in the same magazine. The Innogun Hybrid magazine just has rifle bullets and the shotgun barrel is loaded separately from the rifle barrel. I have same rifle only the rifle barel is 7x65R, and its also sighted at 100m, but shotgun shots 20-30 cm low at sam 35-40m. How does your behave ?
Surely you only want a red dot or a low power fixed magnification scope on a setup like this?

Yes there is illuminated reticle and it requires a cr2032 or similar button type battery
