Hey man! I just wanted to say good job as always and I absolutely love your videos. I wanted to maybe request you do Master of Puppets? I have seen that you’re a fan of Metallica, and recently watching Stranger Things made me want to see you do a cover of Master of Puppets. Thank you and great job again for killing it. 🤘

Do you have official tab books for these albums or do you learn 100% of these covers by just repeatedly listening to the track and learning it part by part?

He covered the entirety of the Believe, The Sickness, and Ten Thousand Fists albums many years ago and probably learned be ear then in that case. Due to the age of these songs just going to Songsterr is extremely fast and just as viable as learning by ear, and if any tab books exist songsterr has probably already copied them.

@@guitaristkuro8898 true. For me personally it was always easier and more fun looking at the tab books and figuring it out that way. I know I've heard several ppl say the books arent always 100% accurate. And I have found some little inaccuracies here and there, but overall I'd say they're pretty accurate and I've owned about 12 or 15 of them

@@MrWillyWonka By ear mostly but I will occasionally look up tabs for reference if I'm really stuck on something or not sure.
A lot of songs I do are either so new that there aren't any tabs yet or so obscure that nobody ever bothered to write a tab for it and in those cases you have no choice but to learn it by ear. I think it's much more beneficial to learn a song by ear than to just use a tab. Tabs can be extremely helpful and make your life easier but they're also a crutch if you depend on them too much. The quality of tabs has gotten much better compared to the past and most user-created tabs these days are above 90% accuracy which is more than close enough to use them to learn a song and have it sound pretty good but there will always be those songs where there are no tabs for and then you're stuck if you depend on tabs.
Being able to learn a song by ear just opens up your options a lot more. It's an invaluable skill to have once you've garnered it but it does take time to get good at it and it's just easier and more convenient to look up a tab if it exists, I totally get it. But I still encourage people to at least try it. It's totally worth the extra effort in the end if you stick with it in my opinion.

Still can't believe there was a time when Dan had no solos.

My man they did that for almost 4 albums. This was partially due to Dan previously being a long hair, shirtless shred god and he adopted the philosophy of having meaningful solos and not mindless fast playing. Even now only a small fraction of their songs have solos.

I'm not really a big guitar solo guy myself. It's cool if a song has one but I'm fine if it doesn't too if the song itself is good.
