Nope 😟I was searching online last week to plan ahead for my trip. You know, it's like being in a casino... before you know it, the sun has set, or it's rising! Anyway, there were 0 items listed under fabric. I thought that maybe they changed the fabric to another category, but nope. So, Schaumburg (Chicago area), IL- sadness. As far as your comment about IKEA having mostly home dec fabric, you're right. I always thought about how I could use the fabric for bags and some up-cycling though. Wish they had the same prints in different materials.
Being a sewer and not even knowing IKEA sold sewing supplies might shed light on why they discontinued selling them and fabric🙄. I love IKEA! I am eagerly waiting for my adult son to move out so I can finally have a dedicated sewing/craft room which will be decked out with everything from Ikea.
I'm in California and I don't recall ever seeing a fabric area at our Ikea. My craft space is almost all Ikea furniture. It was so hard to get my hands on items in 2020, when I decided to give my space a face lift. I agree, it is fun to walk around and enjoy the room spaces.
I adore IKEA, before we had a store in Northern Ireland we used to hire a van and go by boat to Scotland. Rare is the sewist that doesn’t store their stash in a Kallax unit! My absolute favourite was the fabric section with the bold, bright modern patterns which I used to make curtains, blinds, cushions and more recently clothing. I especially loved the collaboration IKEA did with Zandra Rhodes and purchased fabric which I used for bags and jackets. I went last week to stock up again and was devastated to find the fabric section has shrunk and gone are the fabulous patterns which have been replaced with what I would describe as safe boring fabrics…..I am gutted.
Yes, I could tell that the IKEA here in Jacksonville was discontinuing their fabric section, so I went ahead and bought many yards of their muslin. I LOVED their muslin and will miss it. Years ago, I bought their small sewing machine for my daughter. It was very basic, but still works well. I love the name of your rabbit, J-Hop!😂. I flew to LV just to see BTS. It was awesome!!💜
I was in ikea last week and discovered the fabric was missing also! I asked the store employee about it and they said it was gone and weren’t sure if it was a company wide decision or not. I’m in Virginia Beach for reference. I’ve used the fabric for a couple of projects including curtains and for the price, it was pretty fantastic. I do know it’s predicted that cotton will also be in shortages this year and now with the fertilizer shortages on top of that i have to wonder if it will even be planted. Anyway… the rooms at your store are completely different than what we have here so that’s super interesting to see. I use a lot of their kitchen items as organizers with great success. I use a dining table as my sewing table and it looks like that may be discontinued as the company is have a lot of supplier and material and of course shipping issues. It’s a mess. But I still enjoyed my visit.
I've had the same experience withe the Ikea fabric, it's interesting but didn't lend itself to my specific projects. That said I have used their curtains for projects. 😁 My store is the Seattle (Renton) location. I haven't been recently to know if the fabric is gone. I DID peep from your vid that the Raskogs finally got a little topper cutting board?! I looked on the website and yep! Yay! That is my favorite item at Ikea. The Raskog cart. Been a fan for a very long time. I have 2, the hub has 2. I could probably use 2 more! They are just great mobile carts. I can't wait to get the lid. I have several of the old Expedits(now Kallax). As well as the shelving system that goes with that pegboard (which I also love). I also have the desktop with end drawer columns (Alex I think). My room is gonna get some layout change here soon because the layout is sucking my will to live. 😬
The fabric section in my IKEA is also gone (Warrington, UK) and it has been for quite a while 😞 The Variera box is something I recommend people look for. It has a size that is perfect for storing sewing patterns in their packets.
My husband hates going with me to IKEA but be the 1st person picking stuff up. 😂😂😂 I go in there with a solid plan because I look everything up online.
Wait, no more fabric?!?! I just purchased a ton of fabric last summer from IKEA, but I haven’t been there since so I’m not sure if that is true for the Woodbridge, VA store. However, I notice I don’t see fabric on the website. This hurts because I love their unbleached cotton fabric for muslin! 😢 I guess I’ll just buy secondhand bedsheets for muslin fabric.
This is fascinating to me bcse the IKEA where I live here in USA never carried a fabric section nor any sewing supplies to begin with. From opening day (2011) onwards, it was mostly furniture, furniture accessories, plants, and food. However, bcse I have spent some time in Europe, I was used to IKEA carrying a wide range of fabrics (clothing to furniture textiles) and a sewing machine. But my local USA store just didn't carry any of it. I wonder if individual store owners can decide if they need whichever sections or not? 🤔 Because that could have also played a role in why the fabric wasn't shopped as much as in Europe 🤷🏾♀️
I was in ikea London the other week and they had the same display going up the stairs. I love tampa I holiday in treasure island, u live in a beautiful state xx
The IKEA in Round Rock, TX (Austin) no longer has the fabric and sewing section. Since they're in the same shopping complex as JOANN this hasn't affected me much.
I'm in Brittany, France. We have two Ikea stores near us, In Rennes and Brest, both used to have a reasonable sewing section. I used to buy their curtain lining to make garment toiles because it was so cheap and I bought some really good fabric shears a few years ago. Both stores still have a small amount of fabric but it's such a small stock it's not even worth looking at, and they don't seem to have things like scissors or threads any more
I was at Ikea maybe two or three months ago and did notice that the amount of fabrics offered had diminished. I'm guessing next time I go it will all be gone 😕
My Ikea did have fabrics for a few years, I did notice the last time I was there the section was smaller. But I haven't been in a few months so it may be completely gone.
Never been to an Ikea, the nearest one is 3 hours away, I do online, I love the Moppe, I have 3 of them which I use for organizing sewing notions and bag making hardware, and the Raskog, one in the kitchen as an after school snack cart, another as a rolling bar cart, one to hold my sewing projects as I work on them, and each of my kids have one in their room
I am wondering about that shelf at the beginning (sewing display) I can see it’s $142 but I can’t read the name of the pink shelf. Hopefully somebody can share it😊❤️❤️
The fabric at IKEA was great quality and value. I haven't been to the store in several months. I am disappointed that they are getting rid of the fabric.
I am so interested in making a custom closet with IKEA cabinets but their online system isn’t working. I’ve never been there but it looks like they have many storage options.
They should bring the sewing + fabric back and rebrand it. The marketing was horrible I had no idea they even offered that and as very disappointed that it’s gone lol ikea plays a huge role on a lot of diy projects and selling diy items goes hand in hand with selling furniture and other home improvement products.
I recently downsized to a significantly smaller space and hit IKEA for my sewing space. The Raskog is a great cart, especially since you can buy hooks to hold stuff on the edge of the bin, like your scissors or ruler. I also picked up a gateleg sewing table, which I haven’t assembled yet. I also got the Alex, which I will use to store thread. My store was out of a lot of furniture so I couldn’t buy everything I wanted. I had to purchase a tv console elsewhere with cabinets underneath to store my sewing machines. It’s unfortunate that they don’t ship and aren’t in every major city. I love Ikea!
Is your local IKEA still selling fabric? Let me know what's going on near you! Also share your favorite IKEA items for your sewing + craft spaces!

I've never been in an IKEA. I think there's exactly one in the entire country I live in.
Belgium discontinued too.
No, Philly fabric section is gone. Just in time for me to get back into sewing!
My son came home from college after 1 semester to find his room painted magenta. 🙂

I really hope Ikea don’t get rid of the fabric. I used their nummer fabric for quilt backs until they discontinued it - it was lovely!
My husband hates going with me to IKEA but be the 1st person picking stuff up. 😂😂😂 I go in there with a solid plan because I look everything up online.
LOLOLOL! My husband likes IKEA and always finds a bunch of stuff he wants when we're there.
How big is your cutting mat? Where did you purchase it from?
Wait, no more fabric?!?! I just purchased a ton of fabric last summer from IKEA, but I haven’t been there since so I’m not sure if that is true for the Woodbridge, VA store. However, I notice I don’t see fabric on the website. This hurts because I love their unbleached cotton fabric for muslin! 😢

Do you know the name of the pink set with the sewing machine ? I would love to have it 😭
Here in Europe too I noticed that the fabric was gone, was 1 1/2 years since my last visit ...
Well, good to know since my Ikea is the same as yours!

I have two Ikea height adjustable desks -one for my cutting table and one for my primary sewing table. Their products are wonderful.
Wow interesting. I don't go that often but maybe once in a blue moon. I need to find out.
I’m in Scotland and our Edinburgh store no longer sells fabric. I love Ikea but visit less often now because they stopped selling fabrics 🤷♀️
6 months ago IKEA Marsden Park (Sydney Australia) had no fabric section - but it is a newish store and may never have had one.
Was that a new version of an IKEA sewing machine? I have one of the old blue & yellow ones. It got temperamental with age! 😆
No, it was a Singer
I use an Ikea sewing machine. It's a fab solid little machine and is currently being used to quilt a single quilt.
There is no fabric/sewing section at Ikea Logan Australia any more. I'm devastated.
Hi! The Orlando IKEA does not have a fabric section. Such a bummer!
I just looked online - fabric is still being sold in IKEA Australia.
I was in ikea London the other week and they had the same display going up the stairs. I love tampa I holiday in treasure island, u live in a beautiful state xx

Good to know!

I’m interested in the pegboard behind you with the racks at the bottom holding your rulers? Is that from IKEA?

Ikea in Toronto Ontario still has fabric. Yay!

Hi, what is the name of the pink color shelves in the beginning? I love them
I am wondering about that shelf at the beginning (sewing display) I can see it’s $142 but I can’t read the name of the pink shelf. Hopefully somebody can share it😊❤️❤️
In the sewing setup, shelves are the Ivar system painted in the wall colour, desk is Ingo, daybed is Hemnes.
I was told at my Massachusetts store that the fabric section was being phased out of all stores.
The fabric at IKEA was great quality and value. I haven't been to the store in several months. I am disappointed that they are getting rid of the fabric.
We still have the fabric section here in the UK. 🇬🇧
Wow that’s good for you at least!
I am so interested in making a custom closet with IKEA cabinets but their online system isn’t working. I’ve never been there but it looks like they have many storage options.
It is definitely more like entertainment for me. That is my store also. Why did they stop selling fabric. Ugh
I have those spice shelves in my sewing room with empty Talenti containers to hold my rotary cutters etc in them.
They should bring the sewing + fabric back and rebrand it. The marketing was horrible I had no idea they even offered that and as very disappointed that it’s gone lol ikea plays a huge role on a lot of diy projects and selling diy items goes hand in hand with selling furniture and other home improvement products.
Ikea in MD no longer carries fabric ☹️☹️☹️☹️
I’ve never seen a sewing/fabric section at my ikea. Such a bummer but I can understand why. I don’t think ikea when I think sewing supplies.
fabric is available in other countries at IKEA.
I've literally never seen ikea have a fabric section where I live (southern Ontario).
I recently downsized to a significantly smaller space and hit IKEA for my sewing space. I'm trying to find a way to make a sewing nook in my rv... it's so hard going from a huge studio to this :(
use overhead space. maybe a murphy-bed style drop down?
Wow😲🤩😍
We no longer have fabrics in Orlando.
Check out Sew Yeah in Las Vegas !
Arizona IKEA has never had a fabric section.
👍👍👍
They don’t have sewing things in Utah either
