Oh Emma I’m so glad I found you this morning, I’m in the middle of renovations and my house looks like a demolition site, so stressful, but I’ve been watching your tour of your sewing space and between your lovely relaxing voice and all your pretty things I’ve been able to calm down and focus on how I can decorate my new space to make it as pretty as yours. Bless you! 💕
I did earlier in the year. There are two shorts videos on it they are in the shorts tab of the channel. The only problem is I think Clover have discontinued the heart shaped yo-yo maker but you might still be able to find one if you are lucky!
Agree, you are such a joy to listen too, and showing us your beautiful sewing room. Beautiful photo. Love the heart yo yo bunting. I am busy cleaning my craft room...not an easy job. x Blessings x Mariana UK xx
Such a lovely room, and it is so good to have special items in your room i am lucky that i have a work room and i have a white tree type branch whuch i hang things on. I have a picture of my Mum which i copied the photo on to material and made a log cabin square which i framed, she watches me when i am sewing.x
Oh that sounds so lovely Irene, a great idea to get a special photo printed onto fabric and to incorporate it into a project. Love the branch idea too 🌸
1:55 if you put that exact same stack of fabric in a basket, you'd look sooo organized. (To tell the truth, it doesn't look that bad the way it is now.) 💖🌞🌵😷
Thanks for sharing you sewing room with us. I love your collection of sewing boxes and have enjoy collecting many myself. Many of the ones I have that are plastic I have covered with fabric and ModPodge so they do look a little nicer. I am in the process of making a bunch of Fabric Project bags so I can use them instead of all the plastic bins. I found a old magazine rack in a thrift store and I will paint it and put the bags in that. Each one is made differently but they are fun to look at and I enjoy collecting and making the zipper pulls to go on the bags. Always enjoy your videos, Emma. Thank you
Thank you for sharing your beautiful sewing room, it’s feminine and cozy, I love everything about it! I have learned a lot from watching your videos thank you for sharing your talent! 💕
Emma that was a delightful as well as charming presentation of your workplace…..I began watching about 18 months ago……so missed the last tour…..Blessings on your business success this year…..
Thank you for show us your sewing room, it’s just beautiful and what a super sad you have. Have you ever thought of doing an audio book I could listen your voice all day ❤
Hi Emma, thank you for such a lovely look around your sewing room, you have such lovely treasures and trinkets. I love how your storage shelves are a little bowed from the fabric weight 😂 I think we can all relate to that! I have my fabric stored in the drawer under my bed and I’m afraid that the bottom of the drawer will fall out 😂 I think the design wall be brilliant, and so nice to have your projects displayed. Thank you for the shout out, I really appreciate that. Xx
Thank you Rachel! We should have bought thicker wood when we made those shelves! but they do the job. That's one of the downsides to a fabric collection! x
Thank you Emma for a tour of your sewing room. Everything you have is so feminine and pretty. I love all the Cath Kidston storage tins and sewing boxes. As always you are such a pleasure to listen too. Take care xx
Thanks for showing your craft room. It looks really roomy. You are lucky with your dad and husband to help with putting the room together. I will pop back again for a visit 😊
Emma, how lovely your sewing room is! Your system is still so very workable and very pretty. The disaster in my sewing room is worse than ever. I really need to clear it out and make changes. Things have changed since 2020. First, the pandemic, then in April 21, I got kidney cancer the second time. I'm still fighting, I nearly died in 21. By Sept 22, I got stronger every week until Aug of 23. Im now fighting hard, but I am having to build back strength. During this summer, I've been crocheting and continuing your EPP patterns. I'm doing my best to get stronger each day. You are giving me hope, I'm working on my heart, the diabetes and cancer that all went into crisis in the hospital a week and 3 days ago. I have my project bags still by my recliner. I'm going to start today! It may only be five minutes more than yesterday, but I'm starting right now. Your gentle, kind voice is telling me I can do this. It guided me to start stitching in 22 on EPP. It is now stirring me on in Sept 23. I love how you're helping me to go on and across the pond and continent. Anne in Washington state.
Hi Anne, I am so sorry to hear you are unwell after everything you've been through, but you can definitely fight this, you are so strong. I am glad you have your stitching to keep you going, just a little bit will help you to feel positive. I am sending you all of the well wishes in the world for your recovery, I will be thinking of you Anne, sending so much positivity to you. x
@emmajonesvintagesewingbox Thank you so much! I'm getting my projects going and am also resuming my crochet projects. I start with my selection of projects to keep my brain busy. I'm working on my meals and nutrition to keep my nutrition on a better track. I already feel so much better. I worked for about half an hour then rested . I made sure to eat better meals which is helping. Creativity helps me to focus and follow a plan.
Thank you for the tour. I love seeing other peoples crafting (or book) space. I watch a BookTuber that mostly talks about Victorian or Victorian inspired books and every year she has a Jane Austen July read along. This year I focused on Jane Austen's Juvenilia works. I really enjoyed reading all those lesser known writings. I *love* your drawers with the sewing pictures on them. I'll have to have a look on eBay for those.
Such a lovely room Emma. I could just get lost. That's so nice of your dad to help you. Your Liberty fabric is awesome. Everything is beautiful I love your choice of material. It's so calming and peaceful and pretty
How lovely that your father is still here to help you with your sewing room fittings. Those are special times indeed. Glad to see you released your new pattern and it's coming to me right away! i have ideas.
Loved seeing all your sewing room. I tidied my fabric this morning and found even MORE scrap fabric and I’ve ironed and cut most of it now and cannot believe how much I have. I am tempted to try and re-design my little Etsy store (really, really neglected for years now) and rename it and start selling my scrappy bags, hearts, coasters and all sorts of other little things. I know there is a LOT of competition out there though who are much better than me. Perhaps I’m just being pessimistic but I can imagine when people part with their hard-earned cash they expect perfection (quite rightly of course) so perhaps I need to practise a little more. You always inspire me when I see your vlogs. Thank you again for showing us around. Lesley x
I enjoyed your sewing room tour. I did purchase your new Cottage Purse Pattern. Can not wait to start It's adorable!. 💌 Stay well, Cheryl, from Kansas City, Missouri.
Great video as always and lovely to see your craft room it has given me ideas for my own room which I’m just setting up. I have to share it with visiting grandsons so a sofa bed is a must. Thanks again ❤
I’m a huge Jane Austen fan if I ever get back to the UK, I would love to tour the property. I think I remember seeing you using some fabric ones from a Jane Austen collection but I could never find it. I always find fabrics too late and they’re out of print. I would love to see how a design wall is put together, so look forward to a video should you decide to do it. And your liberty stash was very impressive again some lovely fabrics that I now come across and just can’t find. I’m also trying not to buy any further fabric. I have well enough to play with for getting a few little pieces of Liberty lol
it's so annoying when you see a fabric collection you like and then you can't find it isn't it, it happened to me with the Jane Austen fabric that you saw and I only got that fabric because a friend gifted it to me. The designer since brought out a similar range of Jane Austen fabric so I have bought it on bolts and will be making kits for my shop from it, hopefully before Christmas!
I absolutely love your sewing room . You are very inspiring, Makes me want to really work on my sewing room to not only make it more functional but to make pretty like yours . Thank you .
Thank you for sharing your beautiful space, it inspires me to tidy up mine. I also love my Oliso iron…I purchased mine in 2009 at the Houston Quilt Festival and it’s still working great! Your videos always bring me a peaceful feeling ❤😊
Hi Emma, nice to see your sewing room. The design wall sounds like a great idea. You can make quilts with all your beautiful fabric and use the wall to design it as you go. Anyways, always look forward to seeing your videos. Blessings to you and your family from Arizona, USA.
Lovely sewing space, well organised. I wonder sometimes should I pack the art supplies and just dedicate the room sewing but I do like making miniatures and Christmas baubles. I loved your wedding picture with your Nan, beautiful ❤ The Jane Austen quilt is my favourite, the design makes my quilting heart quicken, I adore the diamond shape but believe it is complicated compared to on point squares. Thank you so much for the share, your treasures are gorgeous.
Thank you so much! Such kind words. I love the Jane Austen quilt, really want to make a miniature version, simplified, as I know I will never make the full size one even though I'd love to!
Emma, your room is beautiful. Thank you for sharing. I know you enjoy it tremendously. I wouldn't know what to think having such an organized room. Always look forward to seeing your videos. Hope you have an awesome day. ❤
Lovely sewing room tour Emma. My sewing room really is my happy place. It isn't solely dedicated to sewing, but most of it is. I love to arrange and rearrange it from time to time and find different storage solutions that look pretty and work in ways that I need them to. Your sewing room is very calm, yet inspiring. I love your built in double cupboard, what a great place to hide everything away, but still be able to access it easily. I look forward to seeing your design wall if you do make it.
Emma, I loved seeing your sewing room full of lovely treasures and projects, 💕 its such an inviting space. When I saw your sewing machine I was hoping you would talk a little about that too. I’ve actually been spending the entire weekend trying to decide whether I want to replace my machine with the Juki TL-2010 or the TL-18. I’m leaning towards your model. Are you liking it? I’m a new subscriber and so enjoy you and your channel. Best wishes! Diane
thank you so much for watching Diane. I did make a video about the machine about two years ago now, comparing it to my computerised machine. But I've had the machine for almost three years now and I absolutely love it. I love the simplicity of it, and it feels so strong and sturdy to use. My model came with all the accessories you need for quilting, free motion feet, ruler foot, walking foot, and lots more, the only thing I bought extra was a 1/4" foot because the one it came with had a metal guide on and I found that caused fabrics to fray. All the online videos about these Juki machines say you need to oil really frequently but I think that's a bit of a myth, I was following that advice and found I was oiling it too much. It obviously depends on how much you use it of course. The only downsides to the machine are that it is quite loud, but not crazy loud, the dust cover it comes with isn't very nice, and it is heavy to lift and move around. The light on it doesn't illuminate the entire throat space but that won't bother you if you have good lighting where you sew. But I think you'll love the machine, the extra high throat space is amazing and I love the extension table too. Hope that helps!
Thank you so much, Emma, for that relaxed tour of your lovely sewing room teeming with yummy fabrics and oh, so many pretty things😍. That art print of the house with the hexagons incorporated is amazing. All your little bits and bobs are just adorable - such a personal space. Wishing you much joy in it and every blessing to you and your family🙏💕
Very nice 👍! One thing that might make it easier to find things in your baskets (and keep them more organized) is to label them. I first used clothes pins to hold the labels (backs of old envelopes ) on to the baskets. Now that l'm sure what l want them to say, I've printed labels and laminated them. And now that the baskets are labeled, l at least get it in the right basket, instead of any basket with fabric. 💖🌞🌵😷
Wat a really nice video . I have a sewing corner but it is a little messy and I have to rearrange things there . Also love Jane Austen as well , go back to her movies wen I want to faze out . Hockey is coming soon so will get more EPP done . It's nice to have a quite place to do our crafts . Still go out and sit in the yard and do EPP . Thanks again , nice to see your room . Take care .
Hi Emma, I love your channel. I would like to make the hexagon quilt. Could you tell me where to get that size hexagon template? I love the vintage look and you eye for color is wonderful!
Emma, you have a wonderful sewing room!! It's beautiful! I love that BIG cutting mat on your big desk that your sewing machine is on!! Where did you get your Big Cutting mat?? Do you have the info for that? Thanks- Janice, in Michigan USA
thank you Janice. The brand of the cutting mat is Ansio and I bought it from amazon. I can't find the exact one to provide you with a link I'm afraid, looks like it's not available anymore, but this one is similar: amzn.to/44CcoKT
I noticed you have the "Lori Holt easy seam guide" in your beautiful sewing room. I have been wondering about buying it, and wondering would I use it often enough to justify the cost. Do you use your seam guide often? Just spent a few days cutting and sorting my scrap fabrics as Lori Holt does and found so many pieces of forgotten fabrics, like sorting through my grans button box. Thankyou for your sewing room tour.
I used to use it all the time but honestly, I find it to be a bit annoying. It's quite big, and you have to stick it in place with washi tape. When I need to change the bobbin or move the extension table on my machine, I have to move the seam guide and then reposition it to use it again, which means I might not get it in exactly the same place. So now I don't use it unfortunately. I think I am going to buy a magnetic, small one perhaps.
@@emmajonesvintagesewingbox Thanks for your honest opinion. I won't buy one. I bought a new brother machine with 250sts this year after 30 years with a brother 12 stitch machine. There is a quarter inch stitch so I might just stick some washi tape on the machine to help keep quarter squ trip's nice and straight. I recently added a stick on led light strip just above the to throat of my machine powered by a pebble charger. Simple but effective for me. Thankyou so much
yes! it's www.vintagesewingbox.co.uk and I do ship worldwide although shipping is pricey unfortunately. My shop is a bit empty at the moment but I will be restocking this week and next week. Thanks so much for asking and watching!
that does make sense, but I would say no they can't in most cases because the ones with paper would have to have the paper removed and then the ones with hexiform would have a different depth to them. The only time I think it would work was if you used the hexiform ones as applique on top of a paper pieced background of which the papers had been removed. Hope that makes sense
@@emmajonesvintagesewingbox Thank you … I was hoping for a different answer … but, I do understand. I was able to find leave in hexies from Fat Quarter Shop .. not the same as Ashmead but intended to stay in. I did buy them and will save them from my next project since I’ve already got another project in the works. 🧵
Since the UK is no longer part of the European Union or the European Economic Community, customs duties must be paid on goods imported from the EU and postage is increased. The threads are from France, which is still part of the EU.
I just love the pic of you and your grandma....she would be so proud of you...I am a great grandma and am proud of you for carrying on these wonderful skills ❤
Sajou is a French company and before Brexit I could buy them without customs charges and other taxes but now we have left the EU those charges are added, and they are a lot, which would mean I would have to charge a lot for the threads, making them not worth selling, it's a real shame.

Saludos y muchas bendiciones!!
Thank you so much for watching, glad you enjoyed it. Wishing you and your family all the best too x
great idea Suzi!
@@emmajonesvintagesewingbox those wonder clips would be really cute holding the labels on the baskets. 💖🌞🌵😷
Beautiful sewing room💙

Thank you! 😊
I love Jane Austin
Lovely Room😊 Did you do a tutorial on QAYG Hexagons?
Yes I did, it's the video called the perfect quilt project. thanks for watching
Hi Emma, I love your channel. I would like to make the hexagon quilt. Could you tell me where to get that size hexagon template? I love the vintage look and you eye for color is wonderful!
Hi, so glad you want to make it. I’m not sure where I bought mine from but you could contact sew and quilt because they make acrylic templates 😊

Emma, its gorgeous. Where do you buy your fabric on bolts?
I get them from wholesalers in the UK because I have an online shop
Thankyou so much
Lynn here on Hubby's phone mines playing up 😏, can you tell me where you got your cotton rack from ? Take care love x🤗
Hi Lynn, I think it was from Amazon, it’s made by Milward, hope that helps
How do you make the cute little heart yo yos?
I used a heart shaped yo yo maker, I have a video on it in the shorts tab
Emma, didn’t know you had a shop. Is it the same name as your channel and do you ship to the USA?
yes! it's www.vintagesewingbox.co.uk and I do ship worldwide although shipping is pricey unfortunately. My shop is a bit empty at the moment but I will be restocking this week and next week. Thanks so much for asking and watching!
@@emmajonesvintagesewingbox my gosh, you are all sold out. Looking forward to your restock. 💕
Do you have a pattern for the red roof house?
No, it’s not made by me, I bought it
Can hexies with paper and with leave in hexiforms be combined in the same project? Does this question make sense???
that does make sense, but I would say no they can't in most cases because the ones with paper would have to have the paper removed and then the ones with hexiform would have a different depth to them.

Emma🤗😻💜
Emma, I am from the USA. Why did Brexit stop you from selling those threads?
Since the UK is no longer part of the European Union or the European Economic Community, customs duties must be paid on goods imported from the EU and postage is increased. The threads are from France, which is still part of the EU.
I'm so sorry to hear about how this affected you.
I just love the pic of you and your grandma....she would be so proud of you...I am a great grandma and am proud of you for carrying on these wonderful skills ❤
thank you Nancy
Sajou is a French company and before Brexit I could buy them without customs charges and other taxes but now we have left the EU those charges are added, and they are a lot, which would mean I would have to charge a lot for the threads, making them not worth selling, it's a real shame.
A lovely creative space! Beautiful!!😊
Thank you! 😊
