    I love your channel Jillian! I’ve learned so much, and learned a lot about having a factual sincere conversation. I recently have read “Good Energy” and absolutely love it. I’ve recently lost 45 lbs by intermittent fasting, eating Whole Foods, avoiding ultra processed foods and sweets, walks, resistance trains, etc…. I feel amazing and empowered. I am now at a normal BMI. My fat ratio has drastically shrank. We need to teach Americans the benefits of reading this book and how to get healthy. Love you Dr. Means and Calley! Thank you for your bravery, honesty, and for sharing your journey.

    I like that this is not just an interview, it feels more like a conversation, and I am all for it, especially because her takes are interesting

    • @alphacause
      @alphacause 10 дней назад

      I concur. I appreciate Jillian's zeal for this topic, and for her efforts in platforming important figures who are calling into question the mainstream narrative on a variety of topics. With all that said, her conversational style is peppered with so many interruptions that really don't enhance the audience's understanding of the topic. It frustrates many people. All you have to do is peruse some of the comments and you will see this.
      Most of Jillian's responses just reaffirm an assertion made by the guest, and she simply uses it as a segue to express a personal anecdote. When you have a dialog with an expert on a subject, the greatest skill an interviewer can exercise is restraint, allowing the expert to fully articulate a thought. They are the expert guest, after all. So let them share their expertise, unencumbered by needless digressions. From there, a skilled interviewer should ask probing questions that lead to a more in depth analysis of the claims made. Someone who is a master at this is Chris Williamson.

    When I was younger I used to think products like Special K cereal, Nutrigrain bars, Gatorade, Vitamin Water, etc. were healthy choices. Thankfully I have evolved in my learning and thinking while I am still young. Now the biggest challenge for me is avoiding toxic oils, even at “clean” places like Sweetgreen. Thank you for having these conversations and putting them out into the world.

      Thank you for your courage in leaving. Perhaps you can illuminate something for me? Keeping patients sick & heavily medicated is profitable, but at the same time, insurance companies (especially HMOs like Kaiser) routinely deny necessary care. These two facts seem at odds.
      I've been trying to avoid getting kill3d 0ff in the medical system for the last 20 years. This is what I still don't undestand. Could you help me understand, please?

    Calli, thank you so much for spreading this information! After watching many of your interviews I ditched 80 to 90% of processed foods in May and it is absolutely incredible. The difference it has had on my life! I am no longer taking anxiety medication. I no longer wake up in the middle of the night and I’m unable to fall asleep, my skin is clearer and I’ve lost almost 20 pounds!! and I really honestly didn’t think I ate that horribly before! And frankly, I probably was starving myself because I ate so few calories but almost all of it was the “holy Trinity of ingredients” as you say. Again, thank you so much and I look forward to seeing what you and rfk and trump do with your power and information!

    My profile right now:
    I am on Metformin and glipizide. My A1C was at 12. I am now down to 6.
    I wear a CGM to get immediate feedback on my lifestyle choices. I have learned to "gamify" my lifestyle to get the "score" I want.
    I have learned to cook closer to scratch and have seen an impact on my CGM (including fermented foods because I REALLY believe that gut biome contributes to metabolic disease). I don't shy away from carbs. I make my own pasta and do cook rice.
    My CGM also prompts me to not eat Oreos and ice cream (used to be nightly).
    My questions:
    How much quality research is going into gut biome relationship to metabolic disease? Like sequencing stool samples of people with metabolic symptoms?
    Why can't CGMs be prescribed BEFORE medications to create awareness?

So my one issue with this podcast is your keep saying that these people are good people. Like Oprah, like LeBron James, and others, but they’re selling their soul for our children for the Almighty dollar. That is not a good person. So that’s the issue. I have with this podcast and I wish that you would see that is not being a good person. I’m still listening. I’m learning. Again I love your content. Sharing it with friends and family. I grew up a normal weight. genetically I fall in the category of curvy. I was born in 1970. In the 80s I noticed my foods changed as it all became easier. Never mind that food was the reward in my family. You went to Disneyland to get frozen bananas, the fair to get cotton candy, and so on. Never mind that my mother took care of the elderly who regaled me with terror stories of the great depression or my mom's fear of not having enough food if something happened to my father (which it did when he left us). Nope, that is nothing compared to working in a grocery store for 20 plus years and watching it all drastically change. Faster, bigger, claiming to be more natural but not all in the name of profits. Now I sit at the threshold of Ozempic so tired of fighting and a desperate want to just be thin but more so, feel really good. It all sounds too good to be true, so I know it is. I also know, I hurt. Inside and out. I am older and years of working hard tak their toll. I have debated for months about the shot. I can squeak out enough for a compound, but I know too good to be true has a price. Jillian was the first to scream this out. I saw that right about the time I was signed in to one of these so called clinics. I work 10 hours a day, take care of my grandson and am finally in the last stretch of my degree which has been years in the making. How do you do more when you are already exhausted?I already walk 13000 steps a day. I have nothing left, and yet it hurts more now than ever before. If I do not do it, i will die. My brother just die this year, my nephew did due to imbalance I believe is caused by foods. What do we do?I know there are others like me, how, what, when........

      Type 2 diabetes is reversible. Cut carbs and alcohol all together if you can. Eat meat and vegetables. Especially fermented veggies. Commit to 5 minutes of daily exercise for a week. 10 minutes daily the following week. It can be a small walk or chair yoga. Just get your body moving. Any improvement is an improvement. Stop beating yourself up. That's not helping anything. You're worth fighting for.
