I am female. When I was young, I played with dump trucks, went fishing with the boys from the neighborhood, played flag football and wanted NOTHING to do with dresses, barbies, babies, cooking, makeup/hair. I considered myself a tomboy and really had nothing to do with girls. Now, I'm a happily married woman. I still enjoy the outdoors. Still don't do hair/makeup. I'm so glad that I grew up in the 80s instead of now. I might have been convinced I was trans. My gay guy friend is also greatful to have grown up then, too because he might not be married to his husband and also transitioned. How many gay and straight kids are encouraged to transition when they are too young to really know who they are? I say this with love for all people to live how they want...once they are adults.
Thank you for this great interview. I am a 59 year old gay man who went through 6 years of gay conversion therapy in the 1990's, then later wrote a book about it and spent decades advocating for legal bans on conversion therapy in my native Canada (and helped support 2 legal bans in Canada - one in my home city of Vancouver, and also our federal ban which came into effect in 2021), and so I speak from experience when I say that most "gender affirmative care" for minors is absolutely the latest form of conversion therapy. These procedures are horrific, and I agree with your (and Michael's) assessment that this is likely the greatest medical scandal in the history of medicine. Educating people is the best way forward, so I appreciate your interview.

It’s almost like it’s the reverse of gay conversion therapy. Now it’s these parents telling kids, “Oh, you’re a 5 year old boy but want to walk in mommies shoes? Guess you’re really a girl!!” It’s really awful.
l really like your comment because, as a former liberal now a conservative, who truly believes that adults are free and privileged in both the US and North America/Canada where I live, to do as they please, as long as they’re not hurting anyone. One thing that made me ‘leave the left’ is that I cannot support the ideology politics anymore. I’ve never discriminated against any other race of person but I am now told that because I was born white, I am a victimizer. I have an 8 year old niece, and what I want for her childhood is a good education where she learns how to read and write, learns about math and science, plays sports if she wants to etc, and learn to respect others and be a decent human being. I don’t want her to go to school and be told that she should think more deeply about her gender at all times, be exposed to the gender preferences of her teachers, and be convinced that if she forms her own opinions that do not align with the radical ideology, that she is apparently a ‘transphobe’ or a ‘bigot’. I want her to go through the various stages of her life and biology, including her puberty, and let her brain form to it’s fullest, and if she then at an age where she is fully capable of consenting to a life long decision like having surgeries or transitioning if that is how she may one day end up feeling, then so be it. My niece doesn’t know what the meaning is of basic ‘bigger’ words, she still struggles to write letters effectively and thinks that farts are hilarious, I can guarantee you, she absolutely cannot and has no concept of what it would mean to take a puberty blocker in two years. There is a lot of money to be made for a select group of people that champion ‘gender affirming care’ for minors, and it’s something you can invest in, which is another reason that the people that push it are complicit in the surgical nightmares and medications they are pushing on children.
But then they call therapy (instead of hormone blockers and other sex hormones) conversion therapy. It doesn't make sense. The fact that our schools, Healthcare and politicians are pro GAC (can't even write it out because it's NOT CARE) is abhorrent. Also 🇨🇦

Jillian and Michael, thank you!! 4 years ago my 11 year old daughter revealed that she was trans and wanted hormones. Her school had transitioned her and given her a magazine with information on how to move forward. The magazine implied that anyone that did not respect your new name and pronouns was not a good person. We have been traveling this road ever since with love, respect and lots of conversations. She is autistic and was an easy target. I’m doing my best (against all school and healthcare systems) to protect her from the harm that this ideology can cause.
As the parent of an autistic child, it makes me INCENSED that children with autism are being taken advantage of!!!!!!!!! This should be a CRIME! Schools should not take advantage of children with autism!! Parents should sue!!!
What I don’t get with the schools pushing this so hard…..are they going to pay for the kids copays for these many doctor visits? Is the school going to pay for the prescriptions for hormones, or blockers, etc etc? Many parents are struggling with higher grocery and gas prices. Teachers have a kid for nine months, in high school often less….parents are parents for life. And it seems like most reputable people (Debra Soh for example) recommend waiting and seeing how they develop and may change their mind as they get older. All the insurance companies and doctors see are dollar signs.
There are thousands of parents like us😢 We are collateral damage to a movement which manipulates people’s compassion and misleads them by only affirming their own self diagnosed idea which they get online - offering off-label drugs and surgeries which will cause lifelong alterations to their physiology… it’s a scandal like we’ve never seen.
We too went down this path with our daughter who was 18 at the time, so we had “no rights”. Thank God, literally, that we slowed down her transition at every turn - on purpose. We spoke clearly too, letting her know that no matter how many surgeries she had, she would never be a male. Even as grown “man” with a beard, she would still have to go to the gynecologist. We read Abigail’s book which shed a light on the social contagion, mental health issue that it is. I also took my daughter (in a snow storm) to an information forum, with experts, who talked about the reality of transitioning. Her arms were folded at first, resisting, but half way through, her body language opened up. Pro-trans “experts” are tied to the pharmaceutical industry, creating patients for life. And the whole, “would you want a live son, or a dead daughter” is 100% true!! The “therapist” who just met my daughter and spoke with her for 20 minutes, then called us into her office and proceeded to tell us who our daughter is. The whole thing is disgusting! When we questioned the doctor, she was annoyed and dismissive, and the proceeded to lie about the follow up process. We KNOW she lied because my daughter started down the testosterone path and NO ONE ever followed up with her EXCEPT to call her, incessantly, to see if she was ready to schedule her “top” surgery, aka cut off her breasts. The entire thing is disgusting! Thank God, she finally realized her mistake (after we continually pointed out their lack of care and honesty) that she stopped the “T” and cancelled her double mastectomy 🙏 The medical community is complicit, just like the shot during Covid. Now we’re finding out about doctors who lied about getting the shot, but pushed it on their patients, just to keep their jobs. The medical community needs to speak up about this travesty and take their oath to “do no harm” seriously! Today, my daughter is still a beautiful woman, she is 23, 😊and is gay. Parents, you need to stay strong too. FIGHT against the schools and the medical community and be an advocate and protect your child from these predators. Godspeed🙏

We need this 100%. If we can get to the point where asking if someone is gay is like asking someone if they like to hunt, or like sports, or like gaming, or whatever, and people take it in and say 'cool', and that's that, how cool would that be? To create such a big deal out of something that should only really matter as far as dating etc, doesn't make sense. Humanity needs to grow up and not have 'special' groups... The very, very vast majority of people who think they're trans are just nonconforming gay men and lesbians... it's very homophobic how butch lesbians, for example, are told that they must identify as men. I don’t understand why we require someone to be 15-17 to drive a car 18 to vote, smoke, or get married 21 to consume alcohol. I used to be a leftist. When it dawned on me how hateful many can be rather than tolerant, i started seeing things differently. I am loving this channel! I saw Jillian on Sage saying California pushed her out. I felt the same way. Censorship and mutilating children is pushing me further away.
As a mother I am so grateful that this conversation is here to listen to. I have felt for years that "gender affirming care" for children screams of the same sinister intent of the Nazi program to castrate and then euthanize those the state deemed mentally defective so they could not reproduce. Our children have become so lost because parents are not available the way they used to be for many reasons and influencers are shaping their minds by tapping into their loneliness and insecurities. We need to fight for our children's wellbeing physically and mentally. We need to make time to spend time with our children and build strong bonds so that we can have difficult conversations and they understand that we care about them even if we disagree. Normalize being real parents again. I know it's hard, but it's necessary. 4 years ago we switched schools for my son in the midst of the COVID madness. When he was making friends in his new school he started hanging out with a group of kids when he started dating someone new. The person he was dating identified as transgender boy. Almost all of the friends in this group were the same. Within 2 months of being in this friend group, my son was coming to me and asking to be put on antidepressants and telling me that he identified as a trans-woman. My son's mental health completely deteriorated so I took him to a Dr that put him on SSRI's and within 6 months was hospitalized for suicidal ideations. The doctor wasn't listening to us when we said he was getting worse with the medication and he just kept raising the dose. After my son's hospitalization, he stopped hanging out with that friend group, left that relationship, and within a month his depression resolved and he said he was no longer identifing as trans. Our relationship has become so much closer and we make dedicated time to spend together and we talk openly everyday about what is going on in his life. He has since told me that this group of kids would bully new kids that came into their group into identifying as trans to fit in with them. Every kid in this group comes from broken homes, some living with foster parents and all of them are on medication to treat mental health issues. The person my son was dating lives with foster parents that were friends of the family when she was removed because her father was severely schizophrenic and her mother was not involved in her life because of addiction. Her foster parents were a woman that worked in local government and the foster father was severely mentally ill himself and was frequently hospitalized due to mental instability for bipolar disorder. These kids are lost and slipping through the cracks and the government is capitalizing on their vulnerability.

We pulled my son out of high school and do homeschool-I am grateful every day that he is not encountering this stuff. He is very sensitive and on the spectrum. Bit by bit we each do our part. When my daughter was 11 she told us she was trans. We were shocked and confused because she has always been a very typical little girl, no signs or distress no underlying trauma, nothing. When I asked her why she felt that way she said she liked her body how it was but didn’t want it to change. So basically she didn’t want to go through puberty (at the time she’d already had her period for a year). She has a thin athletic build and is small breasted. I basically had to explain to her that NOBODY going through puberty likes everything about their body, it doesn’t mean you’re not a girl. Even as grown adults nobody loves every feature, that’s life. There was resistance but she did come around and is fine now with being a girl (she’s 13 now). Our bodies go through a lot and it’s scary and this is being fed to kids with normal insecurities. My best advice is to keep your kids off of social media. Enroll them in sports or programs where they can explore interests with like minded peers, spend time with them especially outdoors- go camping, teach them to skate and swim, go shopping together, have meaningful conversations and LISTEN to them, tell them ridiculous stories about your own youth and about times when you felt unsure. Give them some level of freedom, yes, but not unfettered access to the internet.

Thank you Jillian for making such an important video! The topic of gender affirming care - is one that is really concerning for me - THANK YOU FOR TALKING ABOUT IT. It’s heartbreaking to think about what these young kids and adults are going through. Identity is such a huge thing - eg: where it can come from (internal or external influences). We all make up stories- I think we’re wired to create meaning. But some stories we make up aren’t true (both about ourselves and others). It’s scary when people believe that they can’t believe a lie. I’m from Victoria in Australia - where gender affirming care is enforced by law (where anything other than affirming is technically illegal and is seen in the same way as ‘gay conversion therapy’). And sometimes I think- what can I do? Our leading hospital in Victoria for kids - the Royal Children’s Hospital - who have a gender service - say on their website that puberty blockers “…are reversible in their effects…”. Thank you again for bringing light to this issue.
I used to avoid politics and most of the news. I saw how negative the media was starting to become. Then after Covid, I knew for sure that I couldn’t get the truth. I also had Lyme disease for 4 years at that point, was horribly ill, and knew how the medical community was compromised (that’s a long story about healthy living). My partner's daughter fell in with the thespian crowd in high school who peer-pressured her into IDing as trans. My partner expressed her firm concern that she not do anything irreversible until her prefrontal cortex finished developing but with love and scientific support from me. Within two years she decided she really wants to have kids, so yay!

As a Hispanic man a lot of people would assume I am for open borders and my mantra is no human is illegal. After all I'm 'part of that community'. What I find cruel is the targeting of a child who might just be going through a phase and right away that child is being convinced that he or she is in the wrong body. He practices what he preaches, admits when he's wrong and why. There are many that make the claim to be ethical and may start out that way but are usually captured by money or eventually lose sight to remaining unbiased or ability to critically think through individual current affairs.

I disagree that people that are pro transition for children have their best interests at heart. I think they first have their wallets and pocketbooks in mind, and children come second.
Who said its difficult to convince to make a man understand something when his salary depends on him not understanding it? It could be both. But very unscientific sloppy thinking. People have this near religious belief that some people are just born in the wrong body. And if you start with false premises, everything else makes sense. Its remarkable seeing them try to dismiss any evidence that contradicts their point of view. There are lots of reasons a person might feel a strong urge to dress and act like the opposite sex. Almost no one is served by the idea that the reason for this is because they were born in the wrong body. I say "almost" no one, because some men have an erotic cross dressing fetish. They dress like women because it gets them aroused. They really need people to think they are doing it not for thrills but because they were born in the wrong body. And they may not be a majority of trans people, but they are not some tiny insignificant minority either. And they are the one funding this movement, like Martine Rothblat and "Jennifer" Pritzker. They need to have everyone believe its an innate trait they were born with. Its not a coincidence the trans flag is baby blue and baby pink.

I probably show a lot of ignorance by saying this, but to me -as a first gut reaction- the current transgender surge is a bit the mass psychosis du jour, similar to a prior time when multiple personalities disorders were a lot more prevalent… I also believe that at a certain level, todays youth is revolting against the constant pressure they experience that tells them that they have to conform to certain specific gender profiles, where non-traditional behaviors or preferences are highly discouraged. At the same time they really want to find something that heightens their relevance as a unique individual with the recognition on social media as a payoff. It’s not difficult to imagine that as they mature, they may have a change of heart, which therefore leads me to conclude that anything in transgender care that is not reversible should not be allowed until they reach an age where they have a better perspective and understanding of what they’re actually doing and its long-term implications. 🧘🏻♂️

I take meds for my depression and anxiety. The thing to understand is that the meds don't prevent me from feeling sad nor anxious. Those emotions are an essential part of the human experience. The meds regulate my brain function so that I'm free to experience the full range of emotion in a healthy way. When my depression is uncontrolled, I don't feel "really really sad". It's not an emotion. It's an utter draining of my vital essence. It takes all of my will power to get out of bed and get in the shower. Think about any time that you were under pressure, and you had to just buckle down and get things done. Now imagine having to summon that amount of will, to eat a bowl of cereal. That's what it's like. When my anxiety is uncontrolled, my body starts going into anxiety sweats. I can engage in any amount of emotional regulation as I want, it won't stop my endocrine system from flooding my body with cortisol and adrenaline as if there is a tiger bearing down on me. I actually have enough will power that I have, in the past, attempted to just get on with work while experiencing this. It's kind of an issue when you're dripping sweat all over your paperwork. With my meds, I experience anxiety, but it's just one emotion amongst all my other emotions. I might get anxious before a presentation and continue to be throughout the presentation. It's not a problem. I just know it's important, and part of me is worried. You just do what you to do. My meds make that possible. I do think there are a lot of young people today, who are under the impression that they are suffering from mental illness, when they are really just experienced emotions they haven't learned to manage yet. But I don't want to see us get to a point, where we stop recognizing the very real clinical realities that some of us deal with. Because without my medication, no amount of will power or exercise is going to change the fact that my brain does not produce enough serotonin, nor that my endocrine system doesn't know the difference between a high stakes meeting and a bear attack.
Agree that the division between the left and right is at an all time high. If you call it “libtards vs maga” I get what you mean, but the blame isn’t split equally between the two. If you can cite multiple obvious lies and indirect deceptions committed by one side (Trump is a Russian plant, Bidens laptop, suppressing Covid origins, etc.) but struggle to cite any similar deception by the other side, what does that tell you. I will always consider myself independent, I refuse to tow the party line on all subjects just to be team red or team blue. But when one political party or party advocate continually lies and deceives, my trust is lost and I’m tremendously incentivized to just vote against you.

I've observed that if someone does not have Gender Dysphoria, it is impossible for them to understand. That deep feeling repulsion, disgust and offense at the idea of removing your genitals, That is the feeling of Gender Dysphoria because of having those genitals. Ignoring it doesn't make it go away. The only people that "helps" is people who don't think Gender Dysphoria is real and don't have it.

He was canceled not too long ago after working for the BBC. He does a lot of interviews with Americans and Brits and covers a lot of stuff going on in Europe as well. His interview with Ritchie Herron is great, heartbreaking but a great interview.
I am female. When I was young, I played with dump trucks, went fishing with the boys from the neighborhood, played flag football and wanted NOTHING to do with dresses, barbies, babies, cooking, makeup/hair. I considered myself a tomboy and really had nothing to do with girls. Now, I'm a happily married woman. I still enjoy the outdoors. Still don't do hair/makeup. I'm so glad that I grew up in the 80s instead of now. I might have been convinced I was trans. My gay guy friend is also greatful to have grown up then, too because he might not be married to his husband and also transitioned. How many gay and straight kids are encouraged to transition when they are too young to really know who they are? I say this with love for all people to live how they want...once they are adults.

I am a 59 year old gay man who went through 6 years of gay conversion therapy in the 1990's, then later wrote a book about it and spent decades advocating for legal bans on conversion therapy in my native Canada (and helped support 2 legal bans in Canada - one in my home city of Vancouver, and also our federal ban which came into effect in 2021), and so I speak from experience when I say that most "gender affirmative care" for minors is absolutely the latest form of conversion therapy. These procedures are horrific, and I agree with your (and Michael's) assessment that this is likely the greatest medical scandal in the history of medicine. Educating people is the best way forward, so I appreciate your interview.

l really like your comment because, as a former liberal now a conservative, who truly believes that adults are free and privileged in both the US and North America/Canada where I live, to do as they please, as long as they’re not hurting anyone. One thing that made me ‘leave the left’ is that I cannot support the ideology politics anymore. I’ve never discriminated against any other race of person but I am now told that because I was born white, I am a victimizer. I have an 8 year old niece, and what I want for her childhood is a good education where she learns how to read and write, learns about math and science, plays sports if she wants to etc, and learn to respect others and be a decent human being. I don’t want her to go to school and be told that she should think more deeply about her gender at all times, be exposed to the gender preferences of her teachers, and be convinced that if she forms her own opinions that do not align with the radical ideology, that she is apparently a ‘transphobe’ or a ‘bigot’. I want her to go through the various stages of her life and biology, including her puberty, and let her brain form to it’s fullest, and if she then at an age where she is fully capable of consenting to a life long decision like having surgeries or transitioning if that is how she may one day end up feeling, then so be it. My niece doesn’t know what the meaning is of basic ‘bigger’ words, she still struggles to write letters effectively and thinks that farts are hilarious, I can guarantee you, she absolutely cannot and has no concept of what it would mean to take a puberty blocker in two years. There is a lot of money to be made for a select group of people that champion ‘gender affirming care’ for minors, and it’s something you can invest in, which is another reason that the people that push it are complicit in the surgical nightmares and medications they are pushing on children.
But then they call therapy (instead of hormone blockers and other sex hormones) conversion therapy. It doesn't make sense. The fact that our schools, Healthcare and politicians are pro GAC (can't even write it out because it's NOT CARE) is abhorrent. Also 🇨🇦

Jillian and Michael, thank you!! 4 years ago my 11 year old daughter revealed that she was trans and wanted hormones. Her school had transitioned her and given her a magazine with information on how to move forward. The magazine implied that anyone that did not respect your new name and pronouns was not a good person. We have been traveling this road ever since with love, respect and lots of conversations. She is autistic and was an easy target. I’m doing my best (against all school and healthcare systems) to protect her from the harm that this ideology can cause.
As the parent of an autistic child, it makes me INCENSED that children with autism are being taken advantage of!!!!!!!!! This should be a CRIME! Schools should not take advantage of children with autism!! Parents should sue!!!
What I don’t get with the schools pushing this so hard…..are they going to pay for the kids copays for these many doctor visits? Is the school going to pay for the prescriptions for hormones, or blockers, etc etc? Many parents are struggling with higher grocery and gas prices. Teachers have a kid for nine months, in high school often less….parents are parents for life. And it seems like most reputable people (Debra Soh for example) recommend waiting and seeing how they develop and may change their mind as they get older. All the insurance companies and doctors see are dollar signs.

We are collateral damage to a movement which manipulates people’s compassion and misleads them by only affirming their own self diagnosed idea which they get online - offering off-label drugs and surgeries which will cause lifelong alterations to their physiology… it’s a scandal like we’ve never seen.
We too went down this path with our daughter who was 18 at the time, so we had “no rights”. Thank God, literally, that we slowed down her transition at every turn - on purpose. We spoke clearly too, letting her know that no matter how many surgeries she had, she would never be a male. Even as grown “man” with a beard, she would still have to go to the gynecologist. We read Abigail’s book which shed a light on the social contagion, mental health issue that it is. I also took my daughter (in a snow storm) to an information forum, with experts, who talked about the reality of transitioning. Her arms were folded at first, resisting, but half way through, her body language opened up. Pro-trans “experts” are tied to the pharmaceutical industry, creating patients for life. And the whole, “would you want a live son, or a dead daughter” is 100% true!! The “therapist” who just met my daughter and spoke with her for 20 minutes, then called us into her office and proceeded to tell us who our daughter is. The whole thing is disgusting! When we questioned the doctor, she was annoyed and dismissive, and the proceeded to lie about the follow up process. We KNOW she lied because my daughter started down the testosterone path and NO ONE ever followed up with her EXCEPT to call her, incessantly, to see if she was ready to schedule her “top” surgery, aka cut off her breasts. The entire thing is disgusting! Thank God, she finally realized her mistake (after we continually pointed out their lack of care and honesty) that she stopped the “T” and cancelled her double mastectomy 🙏 The medical community is complicit, just like the shot during Covid. Now we’re finding out about doctors who lied about getting the shot, but pushed it on their patients, just to keep their jobs. The medical community needs to speak up about this travesty and take their oath to “do no harm” seriously! Today, my daughter is still a beautiful woman, she is 23, 😊and is gay. Parents, you need to stay strong too. FIGHT against the schools and the medical community and be an advocate and protect your child from these predators. Godspeed🙏

As a mother I am so grateful that this conversation is here to listen to. I have felt for years that "gender affirming care" for children screams of the same sinister intent of the Nazi program to castrate and then euthanize those the state deemed mentally defective so they could not reproduce. Our children have become so lost because parents are not available the way they used to be for many reasons and influencers are shaping their minds by tapping into their loneliness and insecurities. We need to fight for our children's wellbeing physically and mentally. We need to make time to spend time with our children and build strong bonds so that we can have difficult conversations and they understand that we care about them even if we disagree. Normalize being real parents again.
I know it's hard, but it's necessary. 4 years ago we switched schools for my son in the midst of the COVID madness. When he was making friends in his new school he started hanging out with a group of kids when he started dating someone new. The person he was dating identified as transgender boy. Almost all of the friends in this group were the same. Within 2 months of being in this friend group, my son was coming to me and asking to be put on antidepressants and telling me that he identified as a trans-woman. My son's mental health completely deteriorated so I took him to a Dr that put him on SSRI's and within 6 months was hospitalized for suicidal ideations. The doctor wasn't listening to us when we said he was getting worse with the medication and he just kept raising the dose. After my son's hospitalization, he stopped hanging out with that friend group, left that relationship, and within a month his depression resolved and he said he was no longer identifing as trans. Our relationship has become so much closer and we make dedicated time to spend together and we talk openly everyday about what is going on in his life. He has since told me that this group of kids would bully new kids that came into their group into identifying as trans to fit in with them. Every kid in this group comes from broken homes, some living with foster parents and all of them are on medication to treat mental health issues. The person my son was dating lives with foster parents that were friends of the family when she was removed because her father was severely schizophrenic and her mother was not involved in her life because of addiction. Her foster parents were a woman that worked in local government and the foster father was severely mentally ill himself and was frequently hospitalized due to mental instability for bipolar disorder. These kids are lost and slipping through the cracks and the government is capitalizing on their vulnerability.

We pulled my son out of high school and do homeschool-I am grateful every day that he is not encountering this stuff. He is very sensitive and on the spectrum. Bit by bit we each do our part. When my daughter was 11 she told us she was trans. We were shocked and confused because she has always been a very typical little girl, no signs or distress no underlying trauma, nothing. When I asked her why she felt that way she said she liked her body how it was but didn’t want it to change. So basically she didn’t want to go through puberty (at the time she’d already had her period for a year). She has a thin athletic build and is small breasted. I basically had to explain to her that NOBODY going through puberty likes everything about their body, it doesn’t mean you’re not a girl. Even as grown adults nobody loves every feature, that’s life. There was resistance but she did come around and is fine now with being a girl (she’s 13 now). Our bodies go through a lot and it’s scary and this is being fed to kids with normal insecurities. My best advice is to keep your kids off of social media. Enroll them in sports or programs where they can explore interests with like minded peers, spend time with them especially outdoors- go camping, teach them to skate and swim, go shopping together, have meaningful conversations and LISTEN to them, tell them ridiculous stories about your own youth and about times when you felt unsure. Give them some level of freedom, yes, but not unfettered access to the internet.

Thank you Jillian for making such an important video! The topic of gender affirming care - is one that is really concerning for me - THANK YOU FOR TALKING ABOUT IT. It’s heartbreaking to think about what these young kids and adults are going through. Identity is such a huge thing - eg: where it can come from (internal or external influences). We all make up stories- I think we’re wired to create meaning. But some stories we make up aren’t true (both about ourselves and others). It’s scary when people believe that they can’t believe a lie.
I’m from Victoria in Australia - where gender affirming care is enforced by law (where anything other than affirming is technically illegal and is seen in the same way as ‘gay conversion therapy’). And sometimes I think- what can I do? Our leading hospital in Victoria for kids - the Royal Children’s Hospital - who have a gender service - say on their website that puberty blockers “…are reversible in their effects…”. Thank you again for bringing light to this issue.
I used to avoid politics and most of the news. I saw how negative the media was starting to become. Then after Covid, I knew for sure that I couldn’t get the truth. I also had Lyme disease for 4 years at that point, was horribly ill, and knew how the medical community was compromised (that’s a long story about healthy living). My partner's daughter fell in with the thespian crowd in high school who peer-pressured her into IDing as trans. My partner expressed her firm concern that she not do anything irreversible until her prefrontal cortex finished developing but with love and scientific support from me. As a Hispanic man a lot of people would assume I am for open borders and my mantra is no human is illegal. After all I'm 'part of that community'. The same people who do that make the same mistake and would say any gay man or woman would be for so-called gender affirming care, as they are all also 'part of the same community', for minors. Or more aptly children who have not matured enough physically to undergo such a radical physiological change or have not mentally matured enough to truly know all of the ramifications of undergoing such a procedure. What I find cruel is the targeting of a child who might just be going through a phase and right away that child is being convinced that he or she is in the wrong body. It's cruel psychological manipulation and then physiological mutilation. But then as Dr. Shayne Sebold Taylor of Vanderbilt University Medical Center stated "These surgeries make a lot of money."
You are not unhinged, Jillian. I think anyone who is rational thinks that we are in a dire situation as a country. I try to be open minded but the extreme left has convinced me that they are either brainwashed or completely evil, I pray it’s the former. Thank God we still have reasonable adults. ❤️ Michael Shellenberger and trust his reporting fully because of his own ethical stance, his conscious attempt to be unbiased and critically thinks current topics, and most importantly how he truly cares about humanity. He practices what he preaches, admits when he's wrong and why. There are many that make the claim to be ethical and may start out that way but are usually captured by money or eventually lose sight to remaining unbiased or ability to critically think through individual current affairs.

I disagree that people that are pro transition for children have their best interests at heart. I think they first have their wallets and pocketbooks in mind, and children come second.
Who said its difficult to convince to make a man understand something when his salary depends on him not understanding it? It could be both. But very unscientific sloppy thinking. People have this near religious belief that some people are just born in the wrong body. And if you start with false premises, everything else makes sense. Its remarkable seeing them try to dismiss any evidence that contradicts their point of view.
There are lots of reasons a person might feel a strong urge to dress and act like the opposite sex. Almost no one is served by the idea that the reason for this is because they were born in the wrong body. I say "almost" no one, because some men have an erotic cross dressing fetish. They dress like women because it gets them aroused. They really need people to think they are doing it not for thrills but because they were born in the wrong body. And they may not be a majority of trans people, but they are not some tiny insignificant minority either. And they are the one funding this movement, like Martine Rothblat and "Jennifer" Pritzker. They need to have everyone believe its an innate trait they were born with. Its not a coincidence the trans flag is baby blue and baby pink.

I probably show a lot of ignorance by saying this, but to me -as a first gut reaction- the current transgender surge is a bit the mass psychosis du jour, similar to a prior time when multiple personalities disorders were a lot more prevalent… I also believe that at a certain level, todays youth is revolting against the constant pressure they experience that tells them that they have to conform to certain specific gender profiles, where non-traditional behaviors or preferences are highly discouraged. At the same time they really want to find something that heightens their relevance as a unique individual with the recognition on social media as a payoff. It’s not difficult to imagine that as they mature, they may have a change of heart, which therefore leads me to conclude that anything in transgender care that is not reversible should not be allowed until they reach an age where they have a better perspective and understanding of what they’re actually doing and its long-term implications. 🧘🏻♂️

I take meds for my depression and anxiety. The thing to understand is that the meds don't prevent me from feeling sad nor anxious. Those emotions are an essential part of the human experience. The meds regulate my brain function so that I'm free to experience the full range of emotion in a healthy way.
When my depression is uncontrolled, I don't feel "really really sad". It's not an emotion. It's an utter draining of my vital essence. It takes all of my will power to get out of bed and get in the shower. Think about any time that you were under pressure, and you had to just buckle down and get things done. Now imagine having to summon that amount of will, to eat a bowl of cereal. That's what it's like.
When my anxiety is uncontrolled, my body starts going into anxiety sweats. I can engage in any amount of emotional regulation as I want, it won't stop my endocrine system from flooding my body with cortisol and adrenaline as if there is a tiger bearing down on me. I actually have enough will power that I have, in the past, attempted to just get on with work while experiencing this. It's kind of an issue when you're dripping sweat all over your paperwork. With my meds, I experience anxiety, but it's just one emotion amongst all my other emotions. I might get anxious before a presentation and continue to be throughout the presentation. It's not a problem. I just know it's important, and part of me is worried. You just do what you to do. My meds make that possible.
I do think there are a lot of young people today, who are under the impression that they are suffering from mental illness, when they are really just experienced emotions they haven't learned to manage yet. But I don't want to see us get to a point, where we stop recognizing the very real clinical realities that some of us deal with. Because without my medication, no amount of will power or exercise is going to change the fact that my brain does not produce enough serotonin, nor that my endocrine system doesn't know the difference between a high stakes meeting and a bear attack.
Agree that the division between the left and right is at an all time high. If you call it “libtards vs maga” I get what you mean, but the blame isn’t split equally between the two. If you can cite multiple obvious lies and indirect deceptions committed by one side (Trump is a Russian plant, Bidens laptop, suppressing Covid origins, etc.) but struggle to cite any similar deception by the other side, what does that tell you.
I will always consider myself independent, I refuse to tow the party line on all subjects just to be team red or team blue. But when one political party or party advocate continually lies and deceives, my trust is lost and I’m tremendously incentivized to just vote against you.

That is not Gender Dysphoria. It's not "I wish I was better looking" or "I'm sad shorter than you". I've observed that if someone does not have Gender Dysphoria, it is impossible for them to understand. That deep feeling repulsion, disgust and offense at the idea of removing your genitals, That is the feeling of Gender Dysphoria because of having those genitals. Ignoring it doesn't make it go away. The only people that "helps" is people who don't think Gender Dysphoria is real and don't have it.

We must learn to love well, seek the Truth and not just what we want the truth to be (often difficult to be open minded) and we must learn to suffer well. It’s not just vulnerable adults - anyone who survived their twenties because they did some crazy stuff will be relieved it was reversible as they matured. Also fairly standard traumas can take decades to unpack. There’s no quick fix. Watching and waiting (and monitoring /healing/breathing etc) is underrated - this is key imho. Jillian not sure if you have come across Andrew Gold's podcast here on YT called Heretics, but I highly recommend his channel. He's covered so many these stories and his videos are very informative. He was canceled not too long ago after working for the BBC. He does a lot of interviews with Americans and Brits and covers a lot of stuff going on in Europe as well. His interview with Ritchie Herron is great, heartbreaking but a great interview.
