I'm following the instructions exactly but get an error saying "Power is not turned on or cable is disconnected. Please check it. (H'00,H'A0)". Any thoughts on why this may be? I've just installed the driver before the attempt. Thanks!
For some reason I keep getting an error that says the radio isn't powered on after I hit the last step where I press OK. I'm using the provided cable and charger. Also used the software to install the driver and followed the directs provided in the update along with your video multiple times. I can hear the USB connecting and disconnecting from the computer if I plug it in or unplug it. Along with the power cord. Any insight or ideas?
Have you clicked the firmware switch upwards whilst the radio is off then check the charger has power also have you saved the firmware file to your PC so tye radio can find it .
UPDATE. Attempted firmware update on XYL laptop (Intec processor) - worked. My PC and laptop (AMD chips)failed. Fluke? coincidence? who knows but thought I would share the Info as it was a very frustrating Friday afternoon!!
Can you tell me if you are running a 32bit or 64bit version of the operating system? I'm thinking the USB drivers they provide might be 32bit and I have a 64bit system which is causing the same incompatibility you're seeing.
Update was easy to do right up to the point of doing the hard reset of the device. If I plug the adapter back into the device, it just shows "external dc" on the screen. I can not do the reset. If I put the battery back on, I get what was shown in the video where it acts like it is dead. I have confirmed that the switch is back run mode. Any suggestions on how to get this to reset? I've tried holding the 3 keys down as I plug the adapter in, I've tried turning the device off and holding down the keys as I turn it back on with the adapter in. Nothing is working. I only get the external dc displayed on the screen.
@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones Thanks for the response! I have read the instructions several times and have flipped the switch up and down and back to the middle several times. Still getting the same result. When I hook my battery up like you did, nothing happens until I plug the wall charger in. Then it shows charging, but it will not reset. I have tried the recovery process several times as well. You simply push down the three buttons then plug the adapter in. Just shows "external dc" with no reset. I will try to tinker with it some more tomorrow. Thanks again for the response!!
@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones With the help of a Yaesu technician, my radio is once again functioning. It was a stupid issue. I flashed the EXP version on the radio and not the USA version. Once I download and installed the USA version of the firmware, I was able to perform the reset and get the radio up and running again. Thanks again for the help!
I saw it well I‘m 6K2LFV, an amateur radio in Korea. I’m tired because of the error after the firmware update. It doesn‘t work well even if you keep trying the same way.
None of the numerous state management bugs have been addressed in any way shape or form. If you aren't affected by the two issues they explicitly list in the readme then you probably don't need to bother with the ridiculously convoluted update process.

Wasted 4 full days on this. Even bought a new windows computer no luck, done with windows Yaesu and ham radio what a pain in the ass, hey Yaesu why not let us copy firmware to the card and update? My generic boot usb drive has a triangle by it…
I just bought a new ft5d and I cant believe the frecuency is hidden while scanning, its a very very bad idea and it is unacceptable. This feature converts the Ft5d the worst HT I’ve ever had in my life. I will sell it righ now and never buy again this model in my life. i can expect this from a chinesse baofeng HT, not with YAESU I CANT BELIEVE THAT I CANT SEE THE FRECUENTY WHILE SCANNING
What a pain trying to set this up, Until you showed the simple way. Thanks!
Thanks I found it hard aswell glad you sorted it :)
That was quick! ;) I'll have to give it go tomorrow. Cheers.
ok cheers

Plug the DC cable in radio with power to it turned on best to read firmeare instruction manual step by step it can get confusing .
Had the same problem, installing the 3.5 dotnet framework in Windows Features corrected my issue.

do you also know how to do the firmware update with your RT Systems cable

Check the switch again , there is a recovery method best to read the firmware instructions step by step 2 or three times you will spot something.

my friend updated V1.11, but he tried writing FERQ by SD card. It's an error that happened. No any solution until now...
You need to read from software first .
Don't do what I did Gang. I used the wrong version (USA vs. European). Make sure that you are downloading/using the correct version.
Normally it tells you it's the wrong version
Hi there, what happened to the rig after installing the wrong firmware? Were you still able to install the correct one afterwards?
I just updated mine. Don't think I needed too but did it anyway

Sorry about this
Is it necessary to update my radio with each firmware or just the most recent? Thanks for the tutorial!
Just recent
Is it necessary to update the sub transceiver as well or just the main ?
Not always
Can you update using. Mac or does it have to be a PC?
