Its cool that you can do it. But im thinking using the move as an audio interface and using a xlr to mini jack is probably not the best choice for a setup at all. If you re going to invest in a mic, better just buy the interface too. If your idea is to have an audio interface. As a stand alone unit with a mic, this is awesome.
Yea I would agree, the mic input is more just novelty. I paid for this mic and an interface is the only way to get the most out of it. I have been really impressed with mpc because you can plug an interface in directly with usb
So I recently got the Move and plugged my Traveller EG-1 into the line in directly with a 3.5 to 3.5 cable.. the guitar has 3-4 levels of distortion built in so I could dial in a sound without having to mess with any knobs on the Move ( I will post a Short of the track when I get time)... but... I am struggling to achieve what I set out to do and that was to record a 12 bar blues guitar progression. You can record a long sample but you can't stretch it to match your bars also I can't stop that long ass clip from playing once it's triggered so adding layers is frustrating. Now maybe I have to split the playing into different pads like the 1 and 4 and 5 into separate pads and then sequence them? also maybe tighten up my own sucky playing skills :D I so wanted this little box to to be a mini Boss RC pedal with built in synth and drum kit but I haven't quite sussed the workflow out.
Looking forward to seeing that short! I focus mainly on production and don’t do much live looping bc I’m not that talented lol. Sample chopping is my savior. I will watch what you come up with though!
Very cool. As far as the unit being used as an audio interface, (forgive me im in a noisy environment with no headphones, just CC) are you saying its possible to use the mic & move on a audio track in ableton? I'm trying to wrap my head the concept of the move being an audio interface because I'm hearing this more and more now- I thought it was just a clever way of saying it's capable of resampling
No way it’s a legit audio interface that you can select in ableton settings. The ableton output will go to the move headphone jack and you can use the built in mic or the 3.5mm input to sample to an audio track. Hook up the move to your computer and it should be good to go. It is my absolute favorite way to use the move because you still get all of the midi control features too!
