Great video guys, as always. I played mp58’s for years and switched to JPX921 forged. The JPX do “feel” like a mizuno. The forged more so - great flight. I have a 4iron hot metal (for driving) and it’s significantly more exciting and reliable to hit (on my bad days). I get the hot metal thing as I get older. The ball explodes - in a nice way, off the face.
It makes sense to me why JPX and Hot Metal is the Mizuno cash cow. There’s way more players out here looking for game improvement clubs than low handicap guys looking for forged muscle backs. Kudos to them, they’re all great.
Great video gents. Im digging the thought of a PXG fitting and maybe some BLACK OPS irons, but Ive got a MEZZ MAX in my bag, and its going nowhere!!! The best putter Ive ever gamed and probably my last. Love it and the putts Im making.
It totally is. I hit every driver with the weights forward, as close to the face as possible, AND, use the lowest loft setting and hit them great. Currently use a TM 9 degree set to 7, and smash the crap out of it dead straight and piercing, shaft a little softer than labelled as it's not tipped, and I can work it both ways at will, hit it high when I need to and carry it 300 yards. The roll out is tremendous. Every time I put the weight back, the ball spins, balloons, and/or becomes a hook monster
Edel has had some good looking and traditionally shaped torque balanced putters for a while with their EAS line but their new line of Array putters are much easier to fit. Just put a new Edel Array F2 putter in my bag and it is absolutely on fire. Only 24 putts in my round yesterday. 10 on the front nine and 14 on the back nine.
Mizuno has been producing very forgiving irons for the past 20 plus years. MX 23 and 25 were considered very forgiving forged irons, and i believe MX line is one of the most successful irons in terms of sales.
The PXG putter doesn't work in the 'revealer.' So it has some torque to it. The Mezz is closer to a standard mallet 'fang' design. The Link.1 is an Anser style that is just center shafted. For me, the weird design isn't an issue as long as I'm making putts. My only problem with the original design (DF2.1) is that it's so big that I have difficulty aiming it. But I have the DF3 and it's fantastic. You don't realize how much you are trying to manipulate the torque with traditional putter designs until you start putting with the LAB Golf putters. It actually makes putting less stressful for me. The only other putter that has held up to the Revealer, IIRC, is the Axis1 putter. Also LAB recommends their fitting process to get the length and lie angle right so one can swing the putter on that lie angle and let the putter do the work. If a company like PXG were to make a truly no torque putter, you'd still have people that will not get the effect of lie angle balance if they are not fit properly for it.
Will you will make this podcast available on Apple podcasts soon? Always seems to be a delay of several days from RUclips to Apple. I listen to you guys on my phone vs. RUclips. As always, great stuff.
Great point about swinging high moi drivers slower. My g430 10k is crazy on off center hits but man i swing it SO much slower, and my max distance is significantly less compared to my old TSR and my AI Smoke.
The ads on a new golf technology are interesting - but I wouldn't go buy a new club because of the technology claims. The new PXG Allan putter introduction is different. Yes there was the PXG videos on-line which said how great they are - yawn. But when half a dozen reviewers showed how the ball followed the line hit, almost irrespective of the squareness of the face during the swing, I am really impressed. I've got a PXG putter fitting next week - actually hoping that my experience matches the claims!
Great show the JPX line is by far the best all around series for the mid to high handicap player they make you look good and your mine feel like ‘Hey I’m a Player ‘ I’m with you Tony TP needs color Great Show!
They didn’t really understand what they’re saying. They’re confusing the main tech that lab offers. Lie angle balance is the secret sauce…and the PXG ain’t that
I believe TopGolf would get more revenue if they dropped their prices. The bay prices for beginners are wayyyy too heavy. In a sport that is already deters people away, the prices will continue to keep them away.
Hey guys, just asking again, Will this be available as a regular podcast? It's been 9 days, and you have a newer NPG out as well? I'm a big fan of NPG and really look forward to listening to them on Apple Podcasts.
We have a local place like Top Golf called Big Shots Golf. About a month ago we went there and the server said in October Top Golf was taking over and bought them out. I was bummed to hear that because the current cost is about 1/4 of TopGolf
As a kid in 60's and 70's, I went to the Creamery on football weekends. The location has been moved since then though. Sorry, I don't remember the flavors. It's been a while.🙂
I thought hot metal looks good. If you like the dynapwr forged from Wilson Staff, you’d like hot metal pro. I think TopGolf is wayyy too expensive. I tried taking friends to the place outside Denver and it was a 3 1/2 hr wait. I haven’t been since. Indoor simulator golf will also suffer this. I like the topgolf model if it remains high quality
I've tried all the 'best' drivers over the past 3 years except the new GT line and my Epic Max LS is still the best driver I've had. Maybe it's a unicorn for my swing, but it reminds me that newer isn't better all the time. These companies need to sell new gear and pump big dollars into the advertisement machine to get us all to keep upgrading.
As Tony mentioned the PXG Allen putter in LAB’s revealer shows some twisting. Like to see it against a LAB. I custom ordered a DF3 via remote fitting a couple of weeks ago, expected delivery this Saturday. A few years ago I was remotely custom fit for a DF2.1, it was great except the size of it was horrible. Just an ugly branding iron and wound up selling it.
@@billsinclair313 I’m currently gaming a limited edition Odyssey Jailbird 380 since last September. Face balanced but I’m pulling my short putts left. My slightly arcing stroke is isn’t helping my pulls. I’m hoping the DF3 will be a better fit !

Top golf is obviously not where you want to go to hone your skills. It’s a fun place to hang out with the boys or the family! Eat some bar food, beers, and hit some golf balls! It’s like going bowling!
@@donaldwhitfield2794well, by that argument, where to bowlers go to hone their skills? Not saying TopGolf geared towards people that want to get better at golf but it is decent enough to practice. Does it have its limitations for those that want to hone their skills, sure but it’s a fun way to break up the monotony of practice and a traditional range.
I came back to golf last year after a ten year hyates and I no for a fact all this so called new tech is a blag I hit my old clubs further and better ,,,
I saw a post that the taylormade 2007 burner was right around 10k. Ping g400 or 410 was 10k. They have to market something or they’d never sell a club!

in my mind, Top Golf is modern, golf-centric version of bowling alleys.
And golf is way less accessible for someone to have fun at than chucking a ball at pins. Plus bowling is CONSIDERABLY cheaper.
Terrific explanation of 10k driver tech.
