I am so so happy for Madison. Madi had the toughest draw of the tournament in beating no.1, no. 2, and no.5. She had to beat three top 10 players and top 20 opponents to get through to this incredible achievement. She literally did the impossible. She fought and overcame all the negative mindset of the past. This win is not just about winning a slam but about overcoming her dark side. I love Madi's journey. Such a hard worker. Enjoy this one. It was tough and well earned. Her serving was impressive. Not a single double fault. Forehand was firing. Now rest up because you're going to be doing a lot of winning this year. I wish you good health. If Madison is healthy, she will win Wimbledon. No one will be able to touch her phenomenal serve or forehand on that surface. Keep on shining queen!
I thought she shoulda won a few long ago but nerves lack of confidence or maybe as Arnold Palmer said about PGA " I wanted it too much" Anyways with confidence Keys may start killing people( figuratively)😊 and win maybe 5 more!
Additional proof that anything is possible when President Trump is on your side! Aging Serena Williams still won in 2017 the year of Trump inauguration. I definitely knew Keys would pull it off in 2025 as the history is in favor of her. Before President Trump could save the country and the world he did save one girl from Florida from losing the GS final again. Behind all that resilience, tenacity and endurance, history played a huge part in this particular success story.
I wasnt her huge fan, but I remember her heartbreak and tears during US open 2023 and now she got me crying. What a beautiful soul she is! Winning her first grand slam at 29 yo and doing it by beating Rybakina, Iga and Sabalenka... Just remarkable.
I know it has been mentioned multiple times. But I just can’t get over the fact that she beat Collins, Svitolina, Rybakina, Iga and Sabalenka in the same tournament. That's INSANE! 100% deserved. Which is cool because many predicted that she would win at least a Slam in her career since she was a junior. Congrats .
You're absolutely correct. Maddie beat the BEST players in the world to take this title. That is no small feat. One of the toughest draws in slam history. One for the record books.
When I say I am beyond happy for Keys!!!!! I knew (a gut feeling) she would win against Sabalenka. It’s been 8 years since her last final. This is a testament to never give up. ❤❤❤❤ THANK YOU CHRISTIAN FOR YOUR AO WOMEN’S COVERAGE!! WE APPRECIATE ALL YOU DO FOR ALL OF US TENNIS SUPPORTERS✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Try counting how many time Victoria Azarenka has lost to the eventual champion - I think she the all time leader in that dept - I think it’s actually close to 20x.
This has to be the best Grand Slam run of recent years. #10, #6, #2, #1 and a former #3. Just amazing. Keys could not have deserved it more and as an Iga fan I am so happy for her!
The Infosys "Win Predictor" had Sabalenka with a 78% chance to win compared to Keys' mere 22%, and honestly, I took that as a slap in the face. How could they underestimate Keys like that, especially considering how solid she's started this season? It felt like they were writing her off before she even stepped on the court. I was so hyped for this match that I dragged myself out of bed at 5 AM just to catch it, even though my only option was the AO stream featuring those weird AI-generated dolls. Still, I was locked in. When Keys took the first set, I was convinced, this was her tournament to win. But then came the second set, and she dropped it 6-2. My nerves hit. By the time the third set rolled around and the commentators started hyping up Sabalenka’s so-called comeback at 4-4, I couldn’t hold back anymore. I was yelling at my screen, cheering for Keys like my life depended on it. Pretty sure I woke up half the neighborhood, but I didn’t care--this was big. And when Keys finally sealed the win? Man, I almost teared up. It was one of those grand slam moments that reminds you why you love the sport. Seeing her fight through, especially with that little scar on her shoulder--a reminder of everything she’s battled through with injuries--was just incredible. This match? Easily one of the best I’ve seen in a grand slam in years.

Yeah, Maddie Keys is to be praised, for coming thru this TOUGH DRAW. It is really a GREA FEELING TO SEE HER FINALLY WIN A MAJOR! The MONKEY is off her back now, for sure! I am hoping she will takes off from here on, and seal her entry in the HALL of ONE OF THE GREAT ONES! U screamed uh? At 4am! U may have the SABALENKA syndrome!
When she won Adelaide I asked myself where has Keys been. I remember talking about the power in her groundstrokes n how she hadn't won a slam. N she proved it.
A fully deserved win Madison! Killed draw! She is an example to follow. What was missing at semis US Open 2023 (she was leading in sets 6-0,5-3) today she won spectactuarly. A revenge is sweet :)
I just wanted to compliment you on the thoroughness of your preparation for these videos. I learn so much about the games of players from your videos.Keep up the great work!
I agree that Sabelenka's anger, while not a good look, was self-directed -it did not seem like she was upset with Keys, which would have been a sore loser. As for Keys, been following her since 2015. IMO when she is on , no one can touch her. It is nice to see her take on the "headcase"labeland have it recede and make a start to capitalize on her talent. Great run!
Sooo Very Happy For And Proud Of You Maddie!! Sooo Well Deserved!! A Pure Testament Of Continuing To Work On Your Dreams And Goals..And Never Giving Up!! Congratulations Queen Madison Keys!!! We Love You!! ❤🎾🎾🎾🥰
Thank you, Christian, for your hard work as a Tennis reporter; your videos are a part of my absolute enjoyment of the world of Tennis! I always look for you! 💚🎉🎉🎉
Thanks Christian. Keep doing what you do! So good. I'm a big Saba fan, but I'm thrilled for Maddy after so much hearbreak. It was written in the stars and well deserved. She definitely meant business, showing less nerves this time, and I love the racquet under the arm style after each game. Unlike you, I don't mind both players not playing well at the same time, as it just added to the drama, and we got a great match overall. I think Saba's racquet smash just showed how passionate she is and mad at herself that she didn't play better. Two great, powerful warriors!
Why do people feel the need to say that they’re not a huge fan of Madison? Well, if you’re not a huge fan then why are you commenting? Is it not easy to congratulate someone without letting us know that you don’t like them it’s very weird. She played great in the first set and the third set, straight power hitting outplayed Sabalenka took the racket out of her hand 🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾🔑🔑🔑❤️
I. CALLED. THIS. MATCH!!!!! No one deserves this more than Madison!!!!! I am so happy for her. The growth,. The pivot. The belief. The vision. The support. She claimed it. I will predict once more. She has at least 2 more slams this year. She's gonna be a problem this year!!!! Carry on, Madison!! 🎾✨
She was the first player I really got behind when I started watching tennis in 2016 and to finally get this moment and the way she did it? Absolutely fucking spectacular. I'm so proud of her, Major Keys showed the fuck up this tournament!
Those who never walk in her shoes. I wish everyone would remember this before opening their mouth. Thanks for this. Best wishes and take good care of yourself.
Burst into tears, goosebumps, shaking with joy for Maddie. Andy Roddick said "Karma got it right". Madison did a lot of inner work and I think her changing to a Yonex from Wilson did a world of good.
@ me too! it's veeeeery common in northern england. we say it all the time. another good one: to describe someone who is tall and skinny (kinda like sinner) is "a lanky streak of piss"
The best win I can remember in years - had tears in my eyes. One, if not the, most deserving winners ever! All Americans tennis fans are SO proud of her! She is a 100% sweetheart.
Sun conjunct Pluto this week in Aquarius and Keys, Feb 17th Aquarius was laser focused and indomitable this tournament. Mars will be back in her native Leo during the spring! Let's get it Maddi. It's your time 🎉.
Such informative and inspiring commentary on Madison Keys. Congrats on her first Grand Slam. Sabalenka could still be funny with her team after she let off steam on her racket.
I really love your analyses. Am so happy for Keys. She deserves this. Regarding Sabalenka's behavior, people have no idea what these players go through. The kind of emotional roller-coaster we go through as fans who have no direct stake or interest when our favorite lose or win should give us an idea what the players themselves go through. I still feel upset about Federer's 2019 Wimbledon loss. Players are not robots. Even though it might not be always pleasant, there's nothing wrong with players showing raw emotions at times provided no one is harmed.
I used to think, just watching Wimbledon, in the 1970s/80s, if someone - anyone - has a tough first match.....they tend to win the next few matches, upsets etc. BUT that sequence of wins with Swiatek the second last - that was fantastic - games to watch highlights from for the rest of the year.
I really feel the Sabalenka did what Maria Sakkari did in US open against Emma Raducanu, she thought she was gonna win so easy. She was joking around before the match (like I got this) and by the time she figured out that OHHHH? Maddie came to win, she lost the first set. Then she got in her head and realized she not the best player out there.
Arena was not joking around. She was just displaying that she wasn’t as serious but I know deep down. She definitely was because she did not want to show how nervous she was but it showed especially in that first set. I have a feeling she was very nervous from the start of the whole tournament you could easily tell, especially in round 23
So happy for Madison, been watching her for 10 years now. She’s a brilliant player. Wonder if American players are Sabalenka’s Kryptonite in GS finals? 😂
That forehand when Saba hit a rocket return deep to a Madi second serve at 5-5 30 all in the third set is one of the most clutch shots you will ever see. When I saw that I felt like it was ordained. This was Keys' time. What a beautiful thing to watch someone go through the struggle and still believe and overcome. May we all have moments like this in our lives at some point. Congratulations to her and her team.
I remember that during the exo in Charlotte Madison tried out her new service motion and racket for the first time in a semi-competitive environment. What a difference that has made.
Beyond happy for Madison Keys! This run she had was like Serena like. Incredibly calm and focused in the big points. That win in the semi’s after being down match point just incredible. I feel Madison Keys has just learned some new things about herself and there is no reason to think that she can’t win at least one more grand slam before everything is said and done for her! I feel you way overdue for a big run at Wimbledon, it’s surprising that that is the only major that she has never made the semifinals. No reason to think it couldn’t happen this year.
I never thought Keys would win a major. I doubted her here too. But I’m happy she proved me wrong. The U.S. ladies keep getting it done at the majors. The U.S. men need to step up.
Hey Christian Your content is great! Well reasoned, and I look forward to your comments. Not sure it was the greatest but it certainly was one of the best 🎉🎉 I couldn't sit down either 😅 ha ha! I just love the game ❤
And don’t forget that she’s 2-0 in 2025 tournaments that she’s played in! She’s played a lot of games ( five three setters in the Australian Open alone) but she battled through the fatigue to play an amazing 3rd set in the final! Extremely well deserved victory and agree with you that it was simply her time.
I gas was much easier girl. Out of the top 4 seeds coco was easily the hardest then it was aryna second. Paolini and Iga were so easy. I gas was the easiest I’ve seen in about 5 years for a woman at a GS
And once she vented those emotions, she was gracious, funny, heartwarming and extremely complimentary of Keys and her team. Class act. Both players are, actually.
I think that was definitely an understandable moment. That was a super close match that could really have been gone either way. She not only lost the title that was hers but she also lost more than a million $ from losing that match. She didn’t do anything crazy but let out her frustration.
MANY CONGRATULATIONS Madison Keys; WHAT A RUN! This Maiden Grand Slam Win Is Fully Deserved. Madison Played Lights Out! WELL-DONE Madison! We’re Very Happy For You!💞xx
I am beyond happy for Madison. I think lifting the pressure and finally playing for herself and not others expectations helped her tremendously. Accepting that whatever the outcome she'd be happy to just simply do her best made her a winner before she even played in the finial. "To thine own self be true, then thou cannot be false to any man." Maddy you were true to yourself and therein lies the real victory! Congratulations !
This makes her semi final win against Swiatek even more iconic. I think it will go down as one of the best grand slam semi finals ever, especially considering Keys saved a match point and went on to win the title.
This wasn't just a slam win for Maddie. She played and beat the BEST players in the world to take this title. We're talking the # 2 and #1 in succession and a former Wimbledon champ (Rybakina #6). How many players have done that?? It's rare to win a slam and even rarer to win it by beating so many top players of that time. This is one for the history books. Congrats to Maddie for a great great win.
Madison has always had the game. What has always stood in Keyes way was Keyes herself. When Keyes began to dip in the second set, I was a little nervous, but in the third set, Keyes shook off the nerves and got back to business. Sabalenka was not at her best until the 3rd set but she didn't lose the match, Keyes took it from her. I am elated that Keyes won, but not just because she is an American, but because she finally lived up to the tennis she has always had.
Nobody said sabalenka shouldn’t be emotional and show her frustration after losing but in this moment after Madison won it wasn’t right she shoulda left the court and did that this was Madison moment
Love love love Maddy's win! It makes me so happy to see someone who's struggled so much getting over the hump to finally do it. Kudos to her. And kudos to Sabalenka. She played a great match as well. I didn't like her smashing her racket after the match, but like you said, that's who she is. She's genuine. And it wasn't disrespectful to anyone else. Overall, amazing match.
Madi's AO run was one for the ages. Madi won 5 three set matches on the way to win. That is the most three setters won in open era history on the way to a slam title win. Madi had to beat the best to be the best. This how I wanted to see Madi win her first slam. Nothing was given everything was earned.
I just want to see some Masters results from her this year, there are 6 Masters events before Wimbledon and if she does well there she might get top-4 seeding at Wimbledon, that will be massive
Congrats Maddy and so happy for her. I thinked she proved most of us wrong. What a fantastic grand slam win to beat 1 and 2. Hoping she can have a great 2025 season. Also Christian you might be right in terms of the Brisbane Curse for Aryna
Congratulations on your 1st Grand Slam🏆 Madison Keys!🔥🎉🔥 You triumphed over the best!✨So well deserved!❤ #AusOpen2025 Christian, I appreciate your excellent commentary and analysis.🎾 You always come prepared and keep it 💯🎯!!
#19 Madison Keys just delivered an absolute masterclass! 🎾🔥 She took down Collins, Rybakina, Svitolina, Swiatek, and Sabalenka-FOUR of the top 10 players-on her way to glory. 💪✨ -She gave the top 2 the ultimate one-two punch in the third set to claim her FIRST Grand Slam title! 🏆👏 So epic, so iconic, and so well-earned! Proud doesn’t even begin to describe it❤. Congrats, Madison Keys-you earned every bit of this moment! 🌟🙌 #Legends are made of this♥The best slam run!💯❣ She is the second oldest in the open era to win her maiden slam title.
maddieeeee. i’ve seen some of her biggest downfalls and to come on top at this point in her career is incredible. she fought very hard for this one with a very heavy draw. 3 sets and all!
Kudos to her therapist. She has changed and has matured emotionally, mentally, and physically. Go Maddy!! ❤❤❤Get you another one this year!!! I know you will.🎉💪🏽🍾🦾🎈🎾💕🥰
Congratulations 🎉 to Keys ! Keys has been around during the times of Serena and has always been a heavy hitter with clean long shots . Today she proved she could play an unconventional game somewhat . Keys is usually fast with few errors, but this had tons of errors . At the end it all came back to who would get to the finish line first and who had a much stronger conviction . Clearly keys threw her off her game in the first and second set and the third set was a struggle . She totally annihilated Sabalenka’s fire power and threw her game off ! Overall Keys hang in there and just proved that she deserved a win and got there first and the rest is history !

The US men need someone with a Novak Djokovic mentality.
What Keys accomplished at AO Open. It is like let's say Ben Shelton taking out Djokovic, Carlos, Zverez, and Sinner to win a Slam title.
Thank you Christian for doing without background music. Great commentary.
Hey Christian
Your content is great! Well reasoned, and I look forward to your comments. Not sure it was the greatest but it certainly was one of the best 🎉🎉
I couldn't sit down either 😅 ha ha! I just love the game ❤
“They’re gonna be a happy couple!” Haha!!
😃🤣🤣🤣
Great video. It's sweet that you almost cried along with Maddie at that presser. Hope you can critique the men's!

I was watching! I could not have predicted this End. Loooove this Match. Well worth staying up. Im over 50😅😅
And don’t forget that she’s 2-0 in 2025 tournaments that she’s played in! She’s played a lot of games
( five three setters in the Australian Open alone) but she battled through the fatigue to play an amazing 3rd set in the final! Extremely well deserved victory and agree with you that it was simply her time.
Sabalenka had the easiest draw , Coco and Key had the most difficult draw.
I gas was much easier girl. Out of the top 4 seeds coco was easily the hardest then it was aryna second. Paolini and Iga were so easy. I gas was the easiest I’ve seen in about 5 years for a woman at a GS
Sabalenka is on the verge of a 3-peat, and lost. Definitely a racket smashing moment right there. I would do the same.
We are so proud of Madison. Well deserved champion.🎉
Congratulations Maddie! This was a long time coming, when her tennis is on point, she can beat the best of them.
MANY CONGRATULATIONS Madison Keys; WHAT A RUN! This Maiden Grand Slam Win Is Fully Deserved. Madison Played Lights Out! WELL-DONE Madison! We’re Very Happy For You!💞xx
Legend ❤💙 couldn’t be happier and I really want to see Madison win another. 🙌
I’m not crying you are.
She should have left the court first. But later for her, I am so happy for Maddie!
Well done. New sub.
Congratulations MK!
I have been following her career since she was at the Chris Evert Academy!!! LOVE MADISON!!! GO USA
That forehand 5-5, 30~30 from keys was insane. If she went down 30-40, I think keys would have tighten up, even double fault, that was brave.
Bro, I am so proud of her!
You're right. Maddie's run is one for the ages. Epic performance from her. 💪💪😎
I'm very, very pro-racquet smash, by the way. Leave Saba alone!
really inspiring..felt like destiny..so happy she will always be a GS champion and the she slayed the lack of self belief to triumph.
Proud Christian Crew member! Def subscribe!
Also Christian you might be right in terms of the Brisbane Curse for Aryna
thought she'd make the final from the beginning of the tournament so kept a close eye on her but she surprised even me in the final, congrats Madi 🎉
Yesssssssssss
Bravo & Congratulations Maddie🫶🏽
Great play from Madison, didn't understand why all/most journalists downplayed her game as a potential contender. Congrats Maddie 👏
I love a good upset. Go Madison!
Takinh down Ranakyna, Iga and Aryna shows what Maddy is made of, I am so happy she finally realizes it herself
Thank you Madison for making AO quieter , Congratulations!!! After your win with Swiatek I knew you will beat "the voice" ;-)
I ride or die for Sabby - but thought Keys earned this one. Finally. So happy for her! Great tennis.
I'm very happy for her
It's so sweet to see Maddy get one🎉
Congrats Keys 🔑 AO25 winner🏆🇺🇸❤️🔥
Oh wowwww! I am so happy for Maddie!!! 🤗🤗🤗
maddieeeee. i’ve seen some of her biggest downfalls and to come on top at this point in her career is incredible. she fought very hard for this one with a very heavy draw.
