Such a tough draw from round 3 onwards:
      R3: Collins
      R4: Rybakina
      QF: Svitolina
      SF: Swiatek
      F: Sabalenka
Such a nightmare draw and only her R3 match was won in straight sets. Great display of fitness these last two weeks as well.

@@Laifeideexactly. As a former competitive tennis player I can attest to the fact that the opponent’s scream hides the sound you want to hear from their racket if the scream is right at impact. This is a disadvantage to the receiver. Should be banned; period.

Her interview was so telling, she said that she had to make peace with the fact that she had a good career whether she won a GS or not. She had to let go of other people's expectations and stop putting so much pressure on herself. You could see it, because she played so calm, collected and precise...just balanced...she didn't get too down when she lost points or not too hype when she won them...amazing.

You admire Sabalenka, a woman who exaggerates her grunts in the middle of rallies to try to get an unfair edge over other players? Whenever Sabalenka feels under pressure she purposely amplifies the sound of her voice hoping to get in the head of her opponent. Madison's results in the past have never reflected the quality of her game. Every time you thought she was going to win a tournament, she'd disappoint you. She lost some weight and now plays a less aggressive style of tennis. That inside-out forehand from the baseline is a thing of beauty, and probably her best weapon; she makes it look easier than it is. She clearly has the best game in women's tennis; I think she's a better version of Sabalenka. This victory should put her in the top 10. After all the years of hard work, this is a well-deserved victory. If she can stay healthy, then she should be the favorite at this year's US Open.🏆🏆🏆

Its got to be one of the most emotional moments in professional sports ever. She had alot bottled up over the year. Its cool to see very powerful ladies with the all around game. The younger players have to take notice of not only the power, but precision and the drops. Aryna loves the applause, reminds me of Jimmy Connors. Very classy by Aryna at the end, she was very pissed off but gave Madi a sincere hug. The fans got their moneys worth on this one.

the hugs from aryna was cold and fake, and was initiated by Maddie, who instead falling on her back like that majority of players winning a slam, she went str8 to the net and waited to very unclassy aryna with the arms wide open, actually lounging over the net. Amazing amazing work by Keys. No one would have thought her as the favorite this time around - especially against the reigning champion. Was a very mental match in that third set. She played it calm and collected and Sabalenka gave her a run for her money in changing up the pace.
Also let’s not shit on all the other players, especially the seeded ones, that came before. Whatever you think of their talents and strengths, the nature of sports is you just have to be faster and better than the next person. They are all excellent players.

We met Madison at the Indian Wells Tournament, along with our granddaughters. She is such a nice, thoughtful, and lovely person. Our family couldn't be happier for Maddy!!
By the way, she had one of the most difficult draws I've seen for a major.
Madison was in the zone. Completely at peace on the court.
She was not intimidated by the moment or her loud tough opponent.
It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever witnessed that amount of control of self, grace and strength.
