When Keys played in Adelaide you could see this steely, stubborn determination she had when she approached the baseline. Ive only ever seen that in Coco during the United Cup and Serena (always). Once I saw that, I knew this version of Keys was different than what we saw previously.
Finally, this talented tennis player won a GS event. Congrats to Keys! Keys was knocking on the door on most GS events she competed in and finally, this one belongs to her. A well-deserved victory!
Amazing amazing work by Keys. No one would have thought her as the favorite this time around - especially against the reigning champion. Was a very mental match in that third set. She played it calm and collected and Sabalenka gave her a run for her money in changing up the pace. Also let’s not shit on all the other players, especially the seeded ones, that came before. Whatever you think of their talents and strengths, the nature of sports is you just have to be faster and better than the next person. They are all excellent players.

Way to go, Keys!
Two indeed
Way 2 go MADDI.....NO ONE DESERVES THIS MORE...WOW....I DIDN'T SEE THIS ONE COMING....
After beating Iga, I had the feeling that AO is hers this time. Congratulations Keys
sabalenka did every possible thing on earth she could. it just shows how incredibly well madi keys played. absolutely insane tennis
🙌
This will definitely go down into this history as one of the best runs at the Australian Open.
A well deserved victory for Keys, many years in the coming.
Savour the moment 🎉
Tennis is amazingly fair, the winner always "deserves" it.
Keys absolutely deserved it! It's been a long time coming! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
When Keys played in Adelaide you could see this steely, stubborn determination she had when she approached the baseline. Ive only ever seen that in Coco during the United Cup and Serena (always). Once I saw that, I knew this version of Keys was different than what we saw previously.
I’m so so so proud of Madison, no one deserves this more ♥️ With or without slams, you had us girl
A big hug and congratulations, Keys. You've made me proud as your no 1 supporter during this championship. It was do or die, and you did it.🎉🎉🎉🎉
So well deserved and long overdue. Congrats Maddie so happy for you!!
Congratulations to Madison Keys. She worked hard. I obseved that she is fit, competitive, athletic and tough to beat now🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
A truly deserving champion. You can’t ask for a tougher draw than this. Beating the very best of players and lifting the trophy i am lost for words Madison Keys. Wishing you many more to come. Breathtaking performance 👏🎾🏆
absolutely amazing run !!!!!! what a tournament. so happy for her
I'm still in shock Keys kept it together through the whole tournament. Impressive!
First time seeing Sabalenka being overpowered and having to rely on dropshots. What kind of a racket is Keys using? My goodness, those winners

The fact that Keys overpowered her while being completely silent too 😂😂😂
Big Iga fan here, but I must say she absolutely deserved to win this tournament 🙇🏻♂️ Very happy for her and her fans 🫶🏽😊
We met Madison at the Indian Wells Tournament, along with our granddaughters. She is such a nice, thoughtful, and lovely person. Our family couldn't be happier for Maddy!!
By the way, she had one of the most difficult draws I've seen for a major.
Madison was in the zone. Completely at peace on the court.
She was not intimidated by the moment or her loud tough opponent.
It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever witnessed that amount of control of self, grace and strength.
Her interview was so telling, she said that she had to make peace with the fact that she had a good career whether she won a GS or not. She had to let go of other people's expectations and stop putting so much pressure on herself. You could see it, because she played so calm, collected and precise...just balanced...she didn't get too down when she lost points or not too hype when she won them...amazing.
Well done Keys!! This was her moment....all these years paid off!!🎉🎉 congratulations Mrs Frantangello🥳🥳
Madison deserves this championship for her mental strength period! That's the KEY of Madison Keys Good job Maddy!
Always rooted for her low key
She been thru some tuff - disappointing losses over the years… never gave up
Great stuff
I'm watching Madison since her's first AO semifinal where she beat Petra Kvitova, Venue and lost to Serena after hard fought. Since then I became a fan. Waiting is over at last. She is one of the greatest player. Her shots are very good to watch. Now I am at peace at heart as a fan. Happy for her....
She deserved to have a Slam 🏆
OMG! I so happy to see Madison won her first grand slam. ❤
This match is certainly one of the best ever women's Grand Slam finals between two big power hitters. Considering how hard Aryna and Madison were hitting the ball there were very few unforced errors. Congratulations to both of them on a great final and specially for Madison Keys on her first Grand Slam title, super well deserved.
wow wow wow, what a match and a tournament for Madison
I've been watching Madison for yrs , and I've always been a fan, but it seemed like she was always missing that little something needed to get her over the hump, get her to that next level,,,,, And By - golly she's found it!!!!!!; Great Win Madison!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What a Final!!
Incredible Tennis
I'm very happy with and for Keys without screaming!!!to win !!! 🎉🤗✌️👏💖🎾💐🎉 CONGRATULATIONS
Wow! What a match. Very happy for Madison. I've always liked her and am glad to see her break through to a win at a slam.
Congratulations Madison! Officially a grand slam champion🏆🥳
The screaming is horrendous 😮. It takes the joy out of watching a good match.
Grunting not needed to win a chip. Nicely done Keys!
Girl in yellow was closer to yelling than grunting. Shut up, already!
With this win I think of all the years Maddie was in the mix but never taken seriously as a contender. I've hoped for her to win and been disappointed so many times I just gave up thinking she had it in her to win a tournament. But here we are. This win is a testament to never give up and just keep making changes and improvements and you CAN do it!! Good on you Maddie!!
