Wow so many dislikes in one day! Rokblok shills out in full force? I realllly wanted to like this product. I mean I spent 100 bucks on it - but listen for yourself.
Thank you first of all for reading the instructions and testing all the features. Your review was definitely the most fair in that you didn't just brainlessly place it on a record. It might have worked better if it was fully charged, but this was the best, most fair review I've seen thus far. Thanks
Christina McIntosh thank you for the comment. I really (reaallly) wanted to like it. Unfortunately - as everyone else seems to say - this is not a great item.
I did notice on Shark that when he was demonstrating it, he deliberately chose non-melodic music to mask the flaw AS WELL as not playing it for very long at all (I don't think the RokBlok went around a record for one complete revolution). I'm sure though that Robert isn't going bankrupt anytime soon (though Mr Wonderful must be laughing a LOT about Robert's naivety).
For an audio engineer inventor, he never mentioned the parameters of signal:noise ratio, wow, flutter, rumble and other distortions that are known with record player cartridges. The compression distortion from the Bluetooth signal is quite discernible. The motor is not precise enough to live up to the promise. The precise & accurate speed of a turntable with a balanced tonearm are precise engineering, RokBlok is not. It's a battery-powered toy car with a cheap motor. Great premise, wrong hardware. None of the sharks were smart enough to ask about a comparison to a real turntable and cartridge.
I was actually going to get this because it seemed like a cool thing to have, but after seeing this video and hearing reviews of it wrecking vinyls, I think I'm going to invest my $100 on a record player worth the money, and that won't wreck my records, which I treat like gold because many of them are valuable and out of print. And if anyone is looking for a decent sounding portable Bluetooth record player, try looking at the Love Turntable, which actually includes a record playing surface so you don't even have to worry about finding a flat surface to play your records.
Clean the record. Make sure there's not too much scratches on it. Put it on a flat surface when your using the box. It plays best on Bluetooth speaker because of the doppler effect.
@@giansieger8687 The reason it sounded so messed up is as he said because of the Doppler effect. Which means that when the rokblok is going around, the audio source is moving with it making it sound like the volume is inconsistent. When hooked up to the speaker because the sound waves are coming from something stationary, it sounded much more even. You can hear it in the video but it’s still not perfect. It’s kind of like singing while running in a circle, versus singing into a microphone playing out of speakers.
MalarkeyMoose yeah I thought about it some more and realized that the doppler effect for electromagnetic waves is basically negligible for day-to-day speeds, as opposed to the acoustic doppler effect.
The sharks aren’t literally locked into the deals until discussions that happen after the show is filmed where they review and verify everything. I’m hopeful that Robert tested the product a bit more and realized not to buy into it.
Dude!!! That was there a blind last good album! I absolutely adore them growing up! I can't believe someone else has an album good for you bro cheers! Thanks for the review as well I was actually going to buy my cousin that along with a band I really enjoyed and send it to them in the mail as a gift so he would be forced to listen to it lol but I'm glad I didn't
It's a terrible idea to be honest. Records are made to spin, not to have things roll over them. Easy way to get extra scratches, and that little cheap looking thing doesnt look like it would even last anyway. Who needs $500-1000 to play vinyl? Buy a $20 record player or something.
these aren't new they actually made vehicles that would play on records in the old days but they would scratch your records badly. I wonder if this also scratches then up. I think they called it the vinyl destroyer
Not for nothing but, this product has been out way before that guy says he invented it the only thing different is bluetooth, in the early 70's I purchased a record player it was shaped like a vw bus and drove around the vinyl record
he didn't buy his life bro. and also didn't snake him. he gave him 500k up front, 2 years as a boss, and $5 per unit sold. the company was worth 5million in 2020 and going up and up every year. the guy went from being worth 32k to a multi millionaire. you need to learn how to phrase your words. that was an amazing deal. most people get snaked on shark tank but that guy paid him 500k to help his business grow basically. he became a ceo of the company and gets $5 on every item sold. do the math..
The creator of this got a hell of a deal for this company 🤣🤣 But on a serious note. This will come in handy during the great tribulation (apocalypse) When everyone becomes scavengers and there's no electricity anywhere, this thing will be highly sought after. Maybe more than gold. Should've been called a survival machine instead. Marketed to campers then it'd sell way more

Robert made money on the deal, that's all that matters.
@@sinatra222 His product is garbage though. Truly something to be proud of selling. 😄
A novel product with space for lots of improvement and a cheap replacement for an already existing product is a great investment opportunity.
There's still a lot room for improvement of the product
I’m in fuckin tears watching this. My expectations weren’t high but damn. Lmao
😂 I was also in tears trying to get it to work after dropping $100 on it 😂

Yes - i was really hoping it would be somewhat decent. I realized it was clearly a gimmick going in, but this is pretty much gar-bage.
@@QuickTechReviews I saw a repeat of the episode last night and then found your review. Thanks!

Sounds like a much better idea. Thanks for watching.
Well $100 on a record player that isn’t gonna wreck your vinyl is pretty much not possible, unless you’re buying used/second hand of course 😂
Purchased the company for $500,000. Now Selling over 100 units daily and worth
$5 Million. A home run!!
Hey, they got a sale out of me - even if I regret the purchase terribly ;-)

I was actually asking that myself but wouldn‘t the bluetooth signal be distorted aswell? granted idk how bluetooth really works

Yessir - but also fully charged it and had similarly poor results...
I would love this product and will be on the look out for it. Do wish you could have addressed the validity of it ruining the LP
Just get a real record player. There are plenty of them out there.
Oh definitely - I've got the Audiotechnica LP60 paired with the AudioEngine A5 speakers...a pretty decent rig for under 500 bucks...

It's so much better with the Bluetooth. Like night and day. Personally I would purchase it for the Bluetooth feature and the fact it's freaking cool
Is this the product that one of the sharktanks bought full controll of? If he did it was a bad investment
Did the guy really get 500k for that????? Plus royalties etc etc!?????
I see another product out there that's just basically a arm that the record goes around inside, this is something I would buy at all

Not in this video, but did fully charge it and continue testing it. Never got it to sound like something I’d actually want to listen to. 🤷🏻♂️
record player has a flat platen with a rubber cover
Maybe fully charging the unit might have been a good idea.
Didn't help much unfortunately.
Everything you said make sense, but do you think the product will improve through time? in other words, better editions in the next years?
